Ok thanks for the heads up! I'll be trying round 2 very shortly :)

When are these rewards for testing supposed to reach our live accounts? My account is registered with the same primary email address as the test username - nothing showing on my live server login. Logged out and back in again on live - still nothing!?!

Thanks for this! I may well take you up on that offer! I played a little last night and thought I'd give it a go with both the Clemson and the Danae - just to remind myself what they're like and to take some of your advice on getting more familiar with them to understand how they operate better. Needless to say I was for the most part utter crap. It was a little embarrassing! I then decided I'd try this free ship I've been handed for a limit period - the Graf Spee. Had mixed results with that and as I wasn't familiar with it's technicals I couldn't really get on with it over a short few games. So I swapped back to the more familiar feel of the battleships Orion and Iron Duke - and had a lot more success. I will continue to get more use out of Destroyers and Cruisers but certainly in the case of Destroyers I need a more cohesive strategy as what I did last night just wasn't working. I've got Discord and an account on there but not really done anything with it yet. Tried to follow a few folks that were clearly pretty impressive players when I was into Dreadnought (which sadly isn't what it used to be!) Is Discord essentially a more advanced version of Twitch?

If you believe in irony mtm78, I came here looking for a resource with which to better myself! :) Just been reading through "Project Help Me" and saw SGSA. Sounds like I missed the boat (pun intended) :p If this does start up again I'd be most interested to participate on the learning front. Doubt I can offer much sound advice as yet :) Much to learn and so little time :)

Might have to give them more of a try then. I tried them and the odd cruiser early on but after about tier 2/3 I just moved right on to BB's for the firepower. But I accept in this game firepower isn't everything. There's so many variables to factor. Getting to know the other ships though is definitely key!

I actually appreciate that mate. I think we both got our wires crossed at the start there. I welcome all advice and if I'm doing something wrong I would prefer it be pointed out. I'm not going to take offence to that. I do agree though that there are some folks that just don't want to listen. Not sure what can be done about them :)

Nope, nothing of the sort. Just prefer to remain positive with teammates rather than bash them. Doesn't mean advice can't be given and that's not what I'm talking about here. Getting all personal now by digging into each other's stats are we? I'm not claiming to be an expert. I am prepared to muck in and learn. You'll find, if you've ever the misfortune to play against me, that I support my team well - to your detriment. I wont be shutting up for you either so block me if you really can't stand to see my responses on a public forum.

I always like a challenge! Right now though I feel I'm heading down the wrong tech tree with UK battleships. Turns out the King George, whilst it looks impressive, it's got a weak main battery - if used with AP. So I'm currently learning how to spam. Not my preference but I can't get in with a good kill unless I'm less than about 10KM from target. Bizarrely seems okay to citadel certain other BB's though...go figure. I actually preferred the Orion and Iron Duke. Against similar tiered ships they're pretty effective. Queen Elizabeth and KGV not so much. Might have to expand my US tier. Incidentally I feckin hate DD's. Only good one is a sunk one :)

It does sound like this is not your kind of game then pal. I'd find something else then if you can't tolerate the newbies joining the game. Incidentally, a lot of the newbies you're playing with are either guys that have gotten hold of ships too high a tier for their skill level (so they probably haven't the experience yet realistically for said ship) or they're unfortunately playing against ships two tiers up from their own and perhaps a little out of their depth at times. The latter would be me - hands up. I'm tier 7 and played all the way up there. I can fight you quite well on a similar tier - not sure how I'd be against you if you come along with your tier 9. Having said that I've helped win a good number of battles against tier 9. It's just a tougher match when you're fairly early on with tier 7. A lot of the time you could argue that the match-making is more at fault than the player. Sure there are some weak players out there - but there are always going to be. They can't all be good. Look forward to sinking you anyway :)

Come on mate, we all know what abuse is. Swearing at teammates, calling them idiots, a bunch of noobs etc. It's not abuse giving someone some steer on where to go, how to play a scenario etc. I'm not hyper-sensitive. Usually the people in question are hurling said abuse towards the middle/end of the match whilst their ship is parked at the bottom of the sea. Sounds like I touched a nerve though with you fella. You've got all defensive and started the "snowflake" garbage. Sounds like you're the kind of person who does the chat abuse too. Hopefully you'll get bored and leave the game to the rest of us that are actually in it for fun. Either that or you'll be banned by said reporting system.

As has already said, and I'm in full agreement, the biggest let-down of the game for me is the bad attitudes and abuse given out during a match - and often from folks on your own team! Hands up, compared to many on here I'm relatively new and I've still a lot to learn. I've had folks on my own team calling me all sorts because they don't agree with a particular tactic or other. Then I notice the reason they're able to shout and swear so much is that they've already been sunk! So not content with looking into why their own tactics were flawed they're having a go at mine - and before I get accused of it, no we are not talking a failing on my part that sank them! My flaw I guess is I treat everyone with respect, I try to help the team as best I can to the common goal and I even try to positively motivate others in chat. It's just a shame that I'm seeing so many people dishing out abuse to teammates instead of giving them some encouragement. When all said and done though it's a game and we're supposed to be having fun. I had this one instance where I actually stuck up for a chap who was getting abuse from our teammate (again from a guy that'd died already - seems to be a pattern) and this fella decides then to continue to abuse me outside of the game! What's that all about eh? Does this game just attract the lowest of the low or what? In my opinion, a good player isn't just about their skills within the game but also their attitude - after all this is a cooperative game and you need your team to support you. I'll be damned if I'm going to support anyone who is dishing out abuse.
