How on earth? Well I guess I don't know and that's why I'm asking perhaps because I can't work out WHY I can't play at T9 at the moment so I'm looking for suggestions or ideas. Now as for being a re-roll as the AAO guy suggested I assume he means an old player who starts a new account right? To clear that up I'm not but it does interest me that the first comment mentioned this as though it is in some way a negative, almost cheating I got from the comment. Is that an old player class system, a sort of smugness in that it is impossible for a new (ish) player to come into the game and be as good as me type of thing? Do we have snobbery in WOW? How dare you, you young upstart come into my game and be Good! Have at you.. I have been gaming for YEARS and have played over that time some mightily complex games. This game is not a complex game. It is actually rather simple. I'm also a veteran player from EvE and was in a very well known small PvP clan that gained no small amount of in game notoriety in its time. Ive played EvE since its launch in 2003. Ive played this game on my brothers account before getting my own and I can say with some Knowledge that this is one of the simplest games I've played in my time as a gamer. It is akin to dominoes in that the basic concept of the game can be picked up after just a few games. I would also add that if I played 1000 games of anything with an average game time of 15 minutes totalling 250 ish hours of practice I would expect myself to be above average because of my nature and if I was not I would immediately quit and go into a retreat somewhere for some deep meditation and reflection. On my guitar it takes me only 3 to 4 hours to nail pretty much any song apart from stuff like "For The Love of God" by Vai or Sat stuff, you know the mad Super Unicum guitarists But I digress 250 hours for me is a LOT of time to invest in anything so YES I would expect me to be good. And as I am good I can't figure out why I'm NOT good in T9

Complexity? This game is EASY in comparison to EvE. Go play small gang PVP in that and then you'll understand complexity ROFL There are nuances to this game that define good from bad players but those nuances are actually not complex. And remember we are only talking two games here out of ten. The main nuances are Awareness Aiming Shell choice Angling Map Reading Knowing where you need to be and when (falls under awareness really) Understanding your ship Knowing when you need to retreat and regroup (falls under awareness really) Knowing when you need to push (falls under awareness really) Win 4 out of ten consistently and you're a rubbish noob 40%WR Win 6 out of ten and you're a God purple Unicum on 60%WR Win 6.5 consistently and you're a SUPER HUMAN UNICUM It's only two games out of every ten that separates the Unicum from the Noob!

Maybe the class just dont work no matter what you do with it.

The game is called World Of Warships not World of Warships of a certain era. Is there any glaring reason why modern ships cannot be included in the game? Instead of a branch to T11 for example why not two eras? 1900 to 1950 1950 and beyond Or you have all the ships in the same game and MM just pairs you up based on branch and Era. Is this ever discussed in meetings @MrConway

I didn't say I was going to skip them. I just said I have the XP to take me to Lightening is all but ive not spent it yet because I am deciding which line to go down. I actually enjoy playing 5 to 8 the most.

What's the playstyle for RN as I've got enough XP for up to T8 just don't know where to spend it yet?

Go with IJN I'm learning DD's at the moment and apart from lennin only really have IJN. Which line would you recommend for me? Got any tips I can borrow?

Hiya From what i can see your number one issue is you're doing NO damage. Even your purple ships with good WR you were carried by other players. Forget everything else that you think you know this is primarily a DPS game. Other factors come into play of course like kills but to get kills you need to do DAMAGE and you need to do it faster than the opposing team. The more damage you do the more kills youll get and the more you whittle down the enemy and the faster you do it, once you start getting kills then their DPS drops off so the balance starts to shift in your teams favor faster. DAMAGE is everything KILLS follow damage done Now of course Positioning Aiming Awareness Staying alive Capping All help you to win but damage and staying living are your number one concerns in the first ten mins of every game. When you're dead you can't do damage, cap or get kills. Don't listen to the nonsense that you can't as an individual affect a game of 12 random people. It's bull. If that were the case then good players would not have such good PR and WR in their stats so consistently. They do that because they do damage and they affect the game significantly for their team. Because they do that in every game that they play the stats fall in their favor more often and WR rises as does PR. Learn to do damage Learn to kill Learn to stay alive longer so you can do more of it This is your mission should you choose to accept it

Just like in the stock market if you're losing someone somewhere is winning! You lose ten in a row and someone wins ten in a row.

500 points is nothing when your PR is great. Win rate is the only viable stat for measuring ones success in this game.

Ive just noticed on my Mahan that the mains guns are also the AA guns? Hows does that work? Do they fire at planes if im firing at ships or do i have to stop firing at ships for them to fire at planes?

So they dont actually point at the planes then? I just continue firing at ships and they fire at planes at the same time.

One thing is for sure. They have done an awful lot of work on this already, had design meetings etc and drafted the whole thing out. I would be very very surprised if it's not in dev already and at quite an advanced stage They WILL implement it for sure. They wont take one blind scrap of notice of this thread as they have form in this area from what I can see. Ive not played that many battles compared to some of you and even I could not imagine the sheer BOREDOM of having to go through THAT again! Massa is a great ship no matter who you're up against. Just play to her strengths..

We all have our "Dog Days" Normally I'm playing around 70% ish WR. But look at this!! 27 battles at 40% ROFL. I turned it off and went and did some knitting.

Yes you are responsible for your WR. Yes when you play better and do more damage your WR will rise (magically) No you are NOT meant to be contesting caps. In a DD you are meant to be Being patient Spotting Denying Torping Staying undetected Being patient Knowing when to shoot Knowing when not too (being patient) Staying alive And lastly Capping... Iso is a GREAT little ship.

Its not really about "which is best" this or that as ALL ships have their strengths and weaknesses. For example I can't play cruisers for no amount of money. I'm crap in them. They are just not me. I would need to get some good instruction to learn what to do. You can clearly see this in my stats looking at my cruisers so I DON'T PLAY THEM NOW Now looking at your stats and believe me stats are everything and tell a lot about a player. Some things about yours stand out You don't last long. You need to survive longer so you can do more damage. This is a DPS game and the more DPS you're putting out the more and faster the enemy will die as they only have so much HP in their pool You don't do enough damage. This one might be positioning or aiming or both IF you work on those two thing then WR will follow but not before. I would if I were you do this: 1. Go back to T4 2. Pick a ship you like 3. Only play this ship until you have achieved: GREAT aiming all the time Plus 40% survival Rate A good above average PR for the ship aim for Great A good above average WR for the ship aim for Great In other words do NOT play anything else at all until you have mastered this one ship and become an expert in it. Once you have done that pick another ship and do the same. I hope that helps you. It can't be fun for you or your teams to be losing so much.

Yeah I think that's it Morten. Ive been pushing in like I do with my Massa and then getting primaried and deleted as one of the first ships to go down. Ill hang back at the start and pick my moments and see if I can increase her WR from the dismal 48% ROFL.. Isn't it odd how some ships you just fly with and others you seriously struggle with.

So I started off playing this ship well but have become distinctly MEH. I'm still trying to figure out why and what I'm doing wrong. I THINK I'm too aggressive and play like I'm in a DD. I need to watch some more videos but currently it's one of my "I cant play this ship" Ships.

Can you give some playstyle tips on how you flank please as I'm a bit more of a DD player with occasional BB play looking at buying this ship myself?

This sums up nicely (thanks) where I have been going wrong in my JB. I play it like my Massa which I'm very aggressive in and then I just get primaried and die fast. Hmm lots to learn. is Alsace better than JB? I bought JB as wanted to get into T9 but ive totally struggled at T9 and not found a ship I jell with yet.

WR for DDs is a more accurate representation of how much you influenced the game than your damage output. Damage does not take into account Spotting Herding Denying Capping and making a whole fleet turn back A lot of what a good DD player does goes unseen even to his or her fleet themselves. It is difficult to measure, quantify or reward. The only real metric where you can see it is that ships individual WR.
