This topic comes up over and over again. Essentially it is hard for a new player and even some older players to accept that you CAN increase your personal WR by being good at this game. As such they look for other reasons that don't require taking personal responsibility and so therefore are easier to swallow and deal with emotionally. My WR is bad because of team My WR is bad because of poor DDs in team MY WR is bad because of MM My WR is bad because of RNG My WR is bad because I don't get support Etc. On and on it goes.. But NO, NO, NO and thrice NO You're WR is bad because of YOU. There are no exceptions to this at all.. You the player are the issue and only you can change it by diligent study and application. To improve your WR you have to improve your whole approach to this game, every aspect of it. To become solo Great, that nice blue colour you have to play GREAT! To become Unicum, the coveted Purple of Royalty you have to approach each session like a military operation and to become Super Uni you need to apply all the Unicum tricks, tips and tactics just that little bit more...

Everything gets boring if you have too much of it..
-
LOL Yeah I think you might be right. It's the best most fun thing I got from all my gambling at xmas although Belfast is up there. "Here be Dragons" Very apt in its case.

Thats the new T5 Fujin with better guns.

Gentleman please. This is by far the best looking and scariest ship..

Holy s*** the Shchors is (a bit too) good!
GraySlayer replied to Daemon_Blackfyre's topic in General Discussion
Yeah Im seeing this. The only exception for me is Fujin in which I am maintaining 80%WR. All tiers above that I am having to graft hard and even then not win.. This is 23/3, to 24/3, for me.. Grafting my bollox off, last ship alive and still losing.. Fujin at least gives me some sanity at the moment although Yugo is strong too, better than my Benham by a few ticks as I'm languishing at 59% in her... Don't even ask me about the Asah game. I had died after securing all caps and running around like a man possessed. We had 200 points in the bag with 30 secs to go and our last ship (Atago) decides to rush the Colorado and died with 10 secs on the clock. I went for a walk... -
Never have I read such an utter load of nonsense..

Something about CC and dev blog changes on reddit given to CCs
GraySlayer replied to howardxu_23's topic in General Discussion
But it's not un fun though is it. I play a few games every night and I have fun and I do well and I enjoy the game. This is a personal opinion of yours and not representative of all of us.. -
I encounter an awful lot of good players (and top clans I might add) between 5 and 9 so maybe a lot of the better players do what I do. Don't play T10 or hardly ever and have migrated down tier like me. Some of my best and closest games and I mean by that like 2 ships left at the end with chat going crazy etc are at Tiers 5 to 7 I tend to play like this myself. Take Fujin out first for my warm up game. Jump into Belfast or Shira for my T7 nemesis game :( Damned if I can't crack that Tier! Now into either Asash, Lenin or Massa for t8. Asash Wr is good recently here for me and I'm quite confident in her now. and my dessert is a couple of games in Benham at T9 or Alaska B if I want some pain of trying to improve my cruiser play. On very rare occasions and only if my WR is good for the evening i'll jump into T10 in Moskva, Shira or Thunderer.. That's pretty much it for my evening.. Now of course I MUST at some point turn my attention back to T10 and improve things there but i'm not looking forward to it. It feels more like a job and something I have to do as opposed to something I want to do.

Last night I noticed this. A 4 man div. I thought the limit was 3 but clearly not unless i'm missing something here that is glaringly obvious.
-
No we didn't. They ALL lemminged to the same side and left me and one other ship defending A flank which collapsed. It was a ROFL stomp and i was on the wrong side of it...
-
Yeah. First time i've ever seen it..
-
That was not my point. My point and question was I thought there was a hard limit of 3 clan members for a div max out of 12.
-
Ah yes that's how they have done it by having the RMI_A guy in it.. Got it.. Never seen that before..
-
Oh I dunno I sort of agree with him actually. I also dislike T10 with a passion. It is the focal gathering point of all the potate in this game it seems to me. My games from 5 to 9 are way more fun than all the games i've played at T10 put together. I am only focusing on getting T7 and 9 to Unicum as my personal challenge at the moment. Then and only then will I turn my attention back to T10 and improve it from its current poor state but i'll be very surprised if I can turn that one purple solo as DD play is awful there for me and I'm not really a BB of Cruiser player so it's an odd tier for me for sure. I need more practice there in a ship I LOVE as i only do well when I love the ship im in but not until i've mastered T7 my big Nemesis tier!!! So I do get his points myself..

Torpedo Acceleration Skill For Torps With 10km+ Range?
GraySlayer replied to Sir_Sinksalot's topic in General Discussion
I play Fub OK and have tried both builds. I prefer the ten K option myself so after much testing of the two stuck with that. One thing struck me from your comments though. You're thinking In terms of how far your torps go. I'm thinking about my ships operational area. Let me explain. Fub has a detect range of 6.1.cool. but she turns like a brick and is not the fastest. My operational area and this of course is not written in stone is 7.5. Why.. It gives me a nice buffer for if I screw up and miss a ship pushing in on me. You will be surprised how fast 1000m can fritter away on you. Now if you run 8km torp option your operational area is now 6.5 or less. You have zero buffer before you're spotted. I never want the enemy to know where I am until I have launched. This gives me more chance of those first salvos hitting home. I decide as much as possible when and if I'm spotted. Not the enemy. Also running a larger operational area allows you that buffer for the radar ships you come across too. If you do get radar spotted you can disengage quickly, plane spotted you are that much further away when you start getting shot at. So anyway don't think I'm terms of torp distance think in terms of what is my comfortable operational area for this or that ship. And I'm only talking stealth torp DD here as that is the discussion although this does more or less apply to all my ships. All of this does vary for me and is highly situational of course. But that's how I play and that's how I think. -
Funny enough most Kami players I come across are Maris Pipers. I hardly ever see a Fujin.
-
Arhhh got me... Seriously though we all do that. Look back for the most part with fondness. My childhood was endless summer days for example with long holidays. The game in the past was easier to play than today certainly for my class. I can't even imagine how easy it must have been for a DD main to Not have Radar Not have torp nerfs Not have endless Hydro Not have torp detection modules Not have so many angry CVs My god it must have been pure joy to my current experience. And yet I do enjoy myself and I do ok too. Now yes there are LOTS of potatoes in all my games but I also come across lots of outstandingly good players that work with me. It's random and the clue is in the word.

So...when do you compliment or report players?
GraySlayer replied to blindhai's topic in General Discussion
I've had a bug in my account for ages and have unlimited reports. I dish them out like sweets to all and sundry.. -
I was being facetious
-
I never miss the point. Ever. You are looking back with skewed fond memories. It's what we do as humans. Also your personal experience and how you feel might not be representative of how others feel. How I feel for example and my game experience are clearly wildly different to yours. Also the meta has changed massively. The game used to be much easier to play, now it isn't. Now the game requires more brains and more tactics and more thinking not less.
-
You guys expect too much from your games I think. Try eating a big fat cream cake every day at 5pm and then another at 7pm. Each and every day. I can guarantee you that by Friday you wont want to see another cream cake for a while! And yet you expect to play the same game day in and day out and not get bored? I love this game and it provides me with equal measures of fun and frustration. I get immense satisfaction when I play well and win and equal frustration when I potato and lose. I only play short sessions though. 3 to 5 games max per day.

I'm installing this mod tonight for all my DDs. I'll be Super Uni by Monday if what I read about its advantages is true. Can't wait..
