NY is a beast when fully upgraded. Sturdy, resilient, and good guns which are formidable at close range. I wonder just how Texas can be better ... Among my top-4 with Normandie, Amagi, and Isokaze.

NY is a beast. I totally disagree with bad comments on this ship. I think it is one of the 4 bests ships I have played sofar with Normandy, Amagi and Isokaze. Fantastic guns for its tier. Good armor - sturdy, resilient. Do not get disgusted by its slowness. It is a killer ship like Amagi. I think some players are concerned by her speed. But that's not at all the complete picture. Play NY in center of action, not flanks. Kite if necessary. Assess weak ships on the map. Then open fire ....

Hi all I have exactly the opposite opinion. Maybe it is slow. However New York is too me one of the best ships I played as for now ( with Amagi and Normandy ) New York has (11/2019) very punchy AP that allows for consistent and repeated damage. It is very "sturdy". Does not burn like - say - a french ship. This is a terrific combination. I cannot stop winning with that ship. My average damage is at Colorado-level. Maybe the ship was nerfed. The only ship with which I have a better winrate is ... "Wyoming". However I am not a fan of Wyoming slow turrets ( that cannot be upgraded).

As for know, my review of french battleships. Bougainville : As others Jurien : Correct Turenne : Surprisingly tanky, with HE it is a DD killer. Not easy to play because of shot dispersion at distance - quite fun in fact, despite of difficulty. 6/10 Bretagne : At the moment, the ship that provides me with the best results. Vulnerable to HE and slow. ( just plan for that, keep distance with HE spammers, and keep reasonably close from action) However small, very good AA, tanky, agile, and very precise guns. 9/10 Normandy : Vulnerable to HE as all french battleships, good firepower and manouverability 8.5/10 Lyon : What to say - I do not play it well probably, I am under 50% with this ship. Maybe I overexpose, or regularly inherit noob teams with her :-). I think guns may be underpowered for tier. You hit a lot but do not inflict sufficient damage. 4/10 (ship) 1/10 (noob teams) Richelieu : Beautiful ship. Guns all frontside means you are not tempted to go broadside. As a result and with bigger guns, Richelieu improves on Lyon and leads to a different gameplay. However, still vulnerable to HE, shot dispersion, and not that powerful guns. So only 7/10 waiting for Alsace (the promise of a 150% Richelieu is enticing) and Republique.
