Kurze Frage, kurze Antwort - Der Erste Hilfe Thread

Is this how CVs are intended to be "balanced"?

Well, every premium CV owner could give back the ship and get a refund. A situation not really favored by the developers.

I have a different opinion about that. With all those non changeable premium CVs with gimmicks regarding different squad sizes, plane tiers and so on there were servere balancing issues with RTS that could not have been touched. And fighters were broken before strafing. Cause 1 IJN fightersquad was always worse than 1 US fighter squad and 2 IJN fighters always superior to 1 US squad. Strafing did at least add some skill element in that fighter mess.

    CV Rework Discussion

Russian DDs shooting with high precision from 14+km ranges where no BB can hit back I guess. And personally I'm fine with that as long as there are cruisers an CVs in game that can deal better with those DDs than a BB can.

    CV Rework Discussion

Once again this false rumor: You need around 60 seconds to recover one rocket plane and around 80 seconds for a torp or divebomber. So thats a maximum of 20+15+15 planes during a 20 minutes game plus your initial loadout of maybe another 50 planes. Thats high tier max numbers not taking into account that you don't recover any planes from unused squads at the beginning of the game and so on. In the RTS days Tier 10 CVs had around 120 planes instead of nowadays 100. And they could attack all same time with bigger alpha impact. However, restoring times for new planes and initial loadouts are of course discussable, so that in the end CV players have to be more (or less) carefull about plane losses. But that won't stop solo yolo players from beeing successfully attacked by CVs. Cause if you don't want this to happen you have to make single ships AA that strong that playing CVs is pointless when you can't even attack single ships. And I doubt that wargaming is doing this once again to their CVs - sinking their development costs in a not played shipclass. Even if some players wish so. They stated that they want one or more CVs in every game. So right now they are on target. Not saying that there isn't stuff that could and should be tweaked...

Saipan better than Lexi or Shokaku? I really doubt that. I highly doubt that these are base EXP numbers and thats why prem ships are on top of the list. These are premium and premium ship EXP rewards (Saipan +50% from its camo e.g.). Those EXP numbers are never the base EXP numbers of any of those ships for average players. So makes these lists pointless, especially when talking about T8.

So with the new gameplay the average Joe achieves: - less damage (lower tier) / more damage (higher tier) - less kills per game - less spotting asist - more EXP in average then before and more than other shipclasses Maybe the T10 CV is to strong. In my opinion the complete T10's are out of +2 matchmaking balance. Tier 4-8 CVs are not to strong. And I don't see them top of the scoreboard very often in those tiers. Skillgap between CV players seems to be smaller than before (cause no more interaction between CVs) so that less good player have time to do damage. Because of the natural good survivability of the class CVs earn a little to much EXP and maybe slightly to much damage in high tiers. According to the stats the reworked CVs seem to fit much better in the game than the old RTS style.

Betrug? Mitnichten. Betrug in Deutschland ist ein Vermögensdelikt. Hier wird niemand um Vermögen betrogen. Fußball ist was anderes.

AP bombs from CV. How to counter?

You never shoot down a plane for EXP? Never ever? Not even a single one? And sorry to say, but if you think that doing 7 citadels out of 9 planes is just a skillless take off, fly there, drop, rinse and repeat I really suggest you to try it to see that it's not that easy. Even if RNG is on your side.

AP bombs from CV. How to counter?

A good Shima torp salvo in the sides of a BB is an instant kill. No in a one verses one situation the BB will never see the DD. Someone else spotting the DD for the BB? Thats the same as someone else helping with AA. YOu need someone willing to do it. And you're wrong - there is no free lunch for CVs. There's this thing called "AA" which is a quite deadly risk for CVs DPM. Sometimes even against a -2 tier enemy when he has specced AA skills and modules. Mid tier CV gameplay is a permanent plane management. "Unlimited planes" are fake news cause they are not. Yes, there are times where you can spend a whole squad flying into a blob to kill that low health ship but most times you have to search for the lonely or lower tier target. I mean if you consider a deplaned hull standing around somewhere far in the back as "riskfree playing" then you're right. To me that's not "playing" anymore for at least another 5 minutes until you get a full squad back. And plane losses is of course a matter of balance cause it's a matter of reduced attack abilities. Have you ever tried to manouver a CV behind an island with this glorious autopilot so that it's really safe? I do every now and then great long range damage to such "safe" CVs with a BB when my team occasionally spots them. Cause it's not that easy to park near enough and at the point you want it to stop (which is not the end indicator of the autopilot). Maybe just drive some games in a CV and you'll recognize some of the problems of the "risk free" gameplay. BTW: Yamatos at 25km or Shimas / Gearings staying near their team and throughing some 16+ km torps every 2 Minutes is something quite "risk free" as well. Not well played of course. But it's a bit the same with CVs. It's important to know when and which risks to take. Single Nelsons for a T8 CV is one of the lower risks to take.

AP bombs from CV. How to counter?

This is the design concept of CVs. Beeing able to strike from save distances. I guess that's so easy to understand that even WG did know it when they integrated CVs in the game. By the way the saver you stay in a CV the lower the DPM is in general. And yes you have lots of these unbalanced situations in the game. You need examples? I guess you have already encountered them: 1. A DD can instant delete a battleship. Just sail to its side and launch some torps from out of detection range. Yes technically the DD is in range but practically the BB can't do anything because never saw anything before the torpedo warning. Zig zagging? Yes, helps a little but in the long run a single BB loses against a torp DD. 2. BB range > CA range in general. So a BB can and will delete a cruiser without giving the cruiser a chance to hit back. 3. Try to attack a +2 tier single but AA skilled CA or BB (especially some T10 ones) in a CV. Then you'll might rethink how balanced this situation is for the CV when watching your planes go down before the first attack. 4. Nice cruisers shooting from behind islands with deadly, high arc HE spam on a BB while the BB can't shoot back Come on, use your brain and you'll find plenty of more from those unfair situations. This stuff is part of the game, not part of the problem. CV's beeing to strong? Thats another question. I'm sure WG will keep and eye on that and doing adjustments if they think it's neccessary. Because they did in the past. Maybe you won't like all of the changes and meta changes. Meta changes did not occur the first time with the rework. There had been many already. Some adjustments will probably be more of "Stalingrad balance" quality which you'll have to deal with. However, you are free to take a break if you don't like anymore what you play. Changes are the constant in this world, not keeping status quo.

    CV Rework Discussion

Well, I see the same stuff when there is no DD in game (and I remembers times were it was especially outlined "wonderful, no DD game" before CV rework) Also see "wonderfull, no radar" and so on. So when we deleted all shipclasses from game were fine then? About the minority: A goal of the rework was to have more CV players. Seems like it worked. So not such a small minority as you might think.
