Fortunately, currently there are no missions like "deal X damage using torpedoes" or "hit stuff X times with torpedoes"... Oh, wait.

This is a luxury I cannot afford in T2 DD dogfights, where using insane turn rates to dodge while launching torps at the same time is essential. It might be a temporary workaround for stealth torping, but there are lots of ships which are simply not capable of this feat or have so restricted firing angles that they have to turn to keep the target in their sights.
