I like the IJN line but imo the US has the best CVs all around. I have stupidly good results in the t4 and t6. They can adapt to games better. Even Lexi which I unlocked and is still stocked seems (not yet -cuz reasons [t10 mm]) like a good choice. Decent torps on her (3), nice choices in rockets, serviceable booms. IJN have good torps and AP booms but planes are weak if you uptier a lot. Which I am 95% of time (in the shokakou)/ I liked Furious but I'm not sure about the Implacable. Hermes is a bad CV. Probably the worst of the bunch I believe :)

It happens cuz the mm creates these games on purpose more than half the time. Talking helps. But it also gives bans (I have enough to make a bridge) and it isn't a cureall. Teams try to push but you need a force to hold as well. If the push fails then it is difficult to hold. 80% of games are roflstomps especially on higher tiers or boring long range contest. Personally I want the games to last whatever the ship I'm playing but mostly in CVs. Given enough time I can give enough to grab a win. I do better in 'full' games. Quick games I don't contribute as ,much, I'm not that good nor I care to be. I dont like em, even if I win (which is rare). Give me a long game and I m happy and usually end up on top and with a W. -
Listen, there is no truce. I tried it by staying hidden till the end. There were a couple of dudes in every game camping the exit to kill low health, fat in filth (pardon the expression) pve guys. Unless you go there knife in teeth you will be slaughtered and that's the truth in 80% of the games. This mode has brought pve and pvp people to play in the same arena and the results are telling. The pve guys are the best looters and pvp guys the best pirates. It is fun, but can be aggravating for the trustworthy/honorbound pve crowd. So be prepared. PS: I noticed some "killing" high level (ships/skill) divisions do the same thing. Perhaps the sorry state of randoms brought all the 'wise' guys there and I'm sorry for it. I also attest here that I will shoot you on sight or torp when you're not lookin cuz it is instinctive

I need to stay under 50% a bit more to have some gut games it seems -
If the team sucks at start of game there's stronk chance they'll follow the same performance until the very end (usually its pretty quick so that's a +). Up to about a couple of weeks back they rallied occasionally (or the other team tried to win harder) but this is over. Now everyone just gives up and this mentality catches up fast. My only disappointment is I'm not good enough to win those few close games when I face 4-5 opponents in the end. I mean I try but I usually fail. Or perhaps its the Lexi which I unlocked cuz reasons/ or I'm a bad motivator. I usually blame me for all stuff first but sometimes I feel like I'm only one trying. Shout out to that sweet Z52 that followed me around all game, silent and comforting. Didn't fire a shot but held my hand as I burned to death in the end. It was very touching, ty

I m in the same boat. It like having the guns of Genova in a serviceable ships but I'm sure there's catch somewhere, I've seen them around though and I'm kinda jealous. I will prob be disappointed -

Man I'm sorry to see you leave. I stopped for a while, came back. I like ships, the game is frustrating and I hope you will return at some point. Taking a break might be better but I won't question yr reasons or honesty as it is not my place. Good luck to whatever you want to do next :) -
Why are BBs hanging back and how to fix that?
lossi_2018 replied to 66Schwifty's topic in General Discussion
I wanted to put torps twice but people are complaining about my poor vocabulary haha so I didn't :D DD mentality in the afraid to get shot or seen and CC in playing like a cruiser, using same tactics etc. I wasn't accusing or belittling the practice just mentioning the various strategies I have seen employed and used myself. I agree strongly, dds are the biggest threat and they are a pain even in a CV as it robs you time to do other more rewarding stuff and much to my shame they the ship that kills me in a CV which is rare (unlike my dying in the other classes) but still very traumatizing. Or perhaps I'm projecting my BB nightmares of the small devils here :) I love hunting BBs and CCs in my dd so there is that -

Too many torps, CVs, HE gattling guns, superior Cowardice, superior Intelligence , DD/cruiser mentality. EU populace has seen enough wars to go for the outlasting the opponent approach, it is in our genes to be cautious. Yes the meta is not favoring this approach and don't particularly enjoy it but if you put a gun in my head to chose how to fight in a BB, I will check the map for cover -at least one of my flanks and have all my guns facing the other way. -

I normally dont answer to the obvious but I did mention that i dont believe 100 games are enough or what the ideal number is, does anyone know? It takes 1 (one) person with a general 40% in all ships in thousands of games to have a single (1) (one) ship with 1k + games with a 60% to invalidate this point. And I believe there are such players around. But and this is to the dear Colonel that likes to comment on this subject and I thank him for it although no one asked him (it is the gesture that counts) , yes I understand friend since I wrote it. But I don't believe in it. I think you misunderstood the gist of my post. My opinion on the MM is very clearly expressed I think. It does what it's supposed to do, the results what you call WR are completely irrelevant imo, unless someone tells us all the details involved in the creation of the games. I love you all, you are wonderful people thank you :) -

According to some statistician's in here or people fluent in the maths and such, you will win 1 in 4 games even without trying or playing at all. It is said in an attempt to justify whether WR shows a person's true skill and his ability to lead his team to a win in a random game. So a better player will win at least one game + the one he will anyway or more making his contribution obvious. I had 4 kills, 100k dmg in a t8 CV in at least one game, couple of kills 90k dmg in another. While not eye blinding stats they should have been enough to secure a lousy win but nope. Anyway the idea is that in a number of games they determine it is acceptable for whatever reason , say 1k or more or idk less (who cares? bunch of baloney imo since that dont explain why a 40% WR player is a 60% WR player in a certain ship - guess mm dont matter there) this balances out since you are the only constant in the games. So in few words unless you are in a bad 'streak' you can win a game without doing anything at all. -
Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance

You are not responsible for yr teamates. But If they get killed early it falls on you to have a better than average game to win. What is the chance of that? prob 50% as with all things if you are good. If you are not good bye wr. Teams are not bad, the mm decides which team will play which. Putting players with few games overall as is the new meta in the code against experienced players with a lot of games is a recipe for quick games which is EXACTLY what the mm wants. Figure it out. Quick games, many games. I had 4 'funny' teams in a row in a t8 CV. I had 2 decent games and one subpar. The other I played bad because I had a teamate that gave my position away every 2 mins in chat. It happens. And I was frustrated so I played a bad game, awful. It was a loss. I lost all 4 games though. I should have won at least one. I didn't. Why? Well because when you are outnumbered from the start you have to play in a heroic level to scratch the win. Everybody knows that. But the mm don't want heroic performances that drag games out. It wants many games, lots of flags used, lots of prems, lots of creds lost. It is very easy logic. Still luck turns ofc, but if you get frustrated then you won't have fun and that is something it needs to be considered. I don't blame teamates anymore, nor myself. I see the game, I know how it will end, I try to steal the win. Cuz this is what I usually do, trying to steal wins. The games that are won the other way around in roflstomps are not deserved to be mentioned and personally I scratch them out. I don't count them at all. Slaughtering a 3-4 weeks player in 5 mins is not my idea of fun either. But to all those that I've seen in games trying to 'cheat' luck with divisions and stronk ships so they look good... try do that SOLO with an average boat. Picking 'certain' times to play when less players are around etc. Try do that when the mm slots you with the rooks, when the hordes are out, I've seen many of you fail and become rather bitter in chat. Why is that? Try to do it in the current meta with some of the OP dds and other ships I've seen with 60-65% wr that are now retired. Play shinonome with 2 cvs in game. Have fun like the rest of the plebs. Thousand of games played in the era of the brawling bbs before the birth of Jesus Christ. Stats don't represent but a minor part of what truly happens in games and if that. Only 1-2% of the playerbase are truly unicums whatever that means. And they are too few to matter. The rest are praying in 10 languages for a decent mm to have and that is God's honest truth. Most are brutalized repeatedly, ask around. Some have the occasional fun. This isn't me ranting or whatever. I'm just reflecting. Also those 4 straight losses got me riled up I will admit. I will bounce back though. God I hate Des Moines Cheers :) -

In the last days I noticed the teams dont bother with dds at all, making me feel stupid for spending time hunting them around the map. It is a thankless job and very unrewarding for the CV player. Little damage, few kills. Yes it may help the team win (although nothin is certain in the current meta of win harder) but by god it is a game and hunting a good sneaky dd around islands is not my idea of fun. Teams must learn to talk in chat and formulate simple plans. When it happens the game goes smoothly but obviously no one bothers. It is like winning is a chore and the game is full of fine people that just started playing with their new shining toys. Admirable and a fine business prob for WG but very frustrating. Then there are the dds in my team than when offered help (fighters or cover) turn tail and head off into the unknown (usually a quick dip into the deep drink)

I face Enterprise 2-3 times a day, someone should tell these captains to stop using it

I m sure someone will give advise but... the videos on utube are not representative of the MM the average player is facing , but a selection of the uploaders best vids. Usually I will disregard them completely.
