I have attempted it with KGV due to many tanking cruisers (sic) but you need to move fast and block the transports from escaping. Extreme Skill required and must be frowned upon as KGV slow stroll prevents ye from saving the fast dying and screaming obscenities same 'tanking' cruisers. Mucho downvotes earned despite winning a solo win killing everything in port. Only a couple of stars too, which also sucks.

I don't write foolish stuff for fun, if you believe ONE (1) torp per attack run is anything but a laughable change to the Hosho and not a gigantic and unneeded nerf then you are just trolling. When you write an argument try and look at it from both sides of the coin. If WG tomorrow cut torps for DDs from 4 to 2 or from 3 to 1 per don't come in here and cry murder. I am just stating a fact. This was a joke of a nerf.

Always ask at the start of game if someone don't know the map/OP. I do it all the time. It is demeaning yes, but people do reply sometimes and you can give simple instructions. Those that don't know but are ashamed to speak up, listen in and follow (badly) the plan. Always leave a star and one flank if the team is bad to salvage the rest of the mission. Still you could draw a bucket of rocks for teamates, so all that considering well done @EmilyKing :)

Nah, play them less now cuz of other reasons, but enjoy them heavily. Ye just need to pick the one ye like more. Not all dds match each player, I'm watermelon bad at French for example, which is 3x potato level. But if I load a Kita or Shino I have a blast.

Leni, Z and Yuda all good choices. Blyska is what I use cuz I'm lazy and historically inclined. So Z-39, but ye need to learn to play mini cruisers first.

Guys, ye know I don't discriminate nor belittle any kind or type of strategy, everyone is free to play however he wants or likes. Having said that, one simple rule, easily understandable that has been with me since i learned to play dds (I since stopped using the little buggers bar for a couple of ships but this is another discussion and no it is not CVs, I'm a CV enthusiast.) ... is my FIRST concern on every game type is to be the last ship alive. The reason is pretty simple why I start with this mindset even after thousands of games, I died a lot when I started. Being a second generation player, I faced with little skill or experience some of the finest unicums/gurus/fanatics that were 'plaguing' the game then. Fewer ship lines, fewer premium options, fewer OP ships but really damn good players. Now being solo, despite my then Clan's insistence I had to face some of them in divisions. I died a lot. I died fast, I died without firing a shot, I died the moment I got spotted, I died when I thought I would not, I died when I thought I will. Half of the times I got one-shoted. Click play, drive around, spot a fatty, pop out to launch some torps. BLAP, I was gone. We are talking 2 mins max games here. You need to stay alive. Not hide. But make it extremely painful, boring, counter-productive, even ruinous for the red team to come after you. Some good advice was given. Don't give anyone a cheap shot. Don't assume a red not shooting or not 'seeing' you, don't know you are there. They do. I do. I know where most of the ships are on the map. I'm not that good. Some can even tell where you are (yes some guru unicums have not retired yet) but not act on purpose. Imagine that hehe :) How? they look at the mini map. They look at ships on the green team. The know the ship you have, cuz they have it too. Lastly they don't act on you not because they don't know you are there, but because they wait for you to do something foolish. Don't give people the option to shoot you. If you do, make it on your own terms. Bait them into a trap, do to them what they want to do to you. The first time you eradicate a division of good players by yourself will give you enough fuel to become even better. Eventually it gets tedious. But you are not there yet. Stay alive, the longer you are in the game the better. Be proactive not reactive. No plan survives contact with the enemy. Drop the plan, reposition. Stay stealthy. Drop torps, don't shoot after you do unless you know what you are doing. Have a good holiday forumites

I dedicate here my own quote to the people that had the audacity to downvote. If you have read my posts ye know I don't accuse without reason. But I will always fire back. It is not legally honest (watch this part) to offer compensation in a convoluted or shady manner, meaning if your solution to a problem you created (while gaining cash) instead of helping the harmed party is enriching you even more, you are being unethical at least and perhaps even fraudulent.

I almost got mine but for 9k base I think? last mission on Haku. But since the insane cuckoo-nerfs/change?? on the rocket aiming for no darn reason at all it lost its uniqueness and I don't bother play it at all. Germans are better imo, pure random. Biggest reason ofc is that I don't play much/at all. I consider my set up is good enough and probably largely irrelevant since nerf and captain changes are coming. I'd like to get my time spend to almost finish it back. I never thought I was on a clock. I wasn't when I started 2 years ago.

One of the most important posts ever written in here, especially the parting final 2 paragraphs, written unsurprisingly by one of the all time greats. I wrote somewhere else about the devastating effect of losing these core and older solid players. No amount of Clan pandering, division loving, teamplay advertising, new premiums and good will can replace them. It's not the players fault for crying out loud, the culprit is known, and if you lose or erode your core then again no amount of new players brought in however well intended, no matter how skilled, can carry it on. The mystique of the first years, of the original taste and perhaps even dream is sadly gone. o7
