If you move on auto pilot, I assume everyone does, you move not in straight lines hopefully, that means you never really hit that 28 (Ryu) 29 (Ranger) top speed, more like 23-25 and this is in the range of the subs. I've seen it happen, okay the teams are garbage, the CV captains prob also, but still it is what we have to measure with and in my games while I usually survive till the end, the other ships that do are subs most of the time. More than one. -

Not all CVs - assuming the CV is moving full speed, if it dodges (assuming he has time while operating planes) the CV loses speed while operating the unreliable (for common people) auto pilot. IF you assume command to steer away from the sub ( usually at least 2 come after me in game) you are not doing dmg. It is a problem El2 perhaps you played early and against 'fresh' captains? Have you tried the Ranger against them? I respect you immensely but I believe here you are a bit dismissive out of pride :) -

Norm and her follow up the mighty Lyon were at a point my go to BBs. Fantastic ships, with huge potential. Just too many guns to miss. I got to the Riche which is my favorite BB and stopped there. They are good ships. Fast, give options and reward the aggressive playstyle. I consider them better than the Bayern which I have slightly worse than PEF (A very good German premium imo) It has good secs and the guns when hit do dmg. That's about it -
Has anyone won the Gallant there? I spent my first year in this game buying the collection (100s of crates) but never got it and gave up. It's not that it is that good but well I kinda want it then. That was before I fell in love with the CVs cuz of the CV rework

I kinda stopped at surrey in CA brits, I don't know something didn't click for me. I find the CL line a bit more interesting and apparently WG things same as they put ASW on the old line and left the new ones pre WW1 tech wise

Bot BBs also very gut aim. They blapped me twice in Leander while I was depth charging a dd. Also I got killed by a DD as I fumbled the buttons trying to kill a red SS right underneath it, I pressed G and something else I think. Made a fool of meself

Man that will make them even more difficult to find :) But I guess they surprise campers, the 'unmoving' strategies will have to be reevaluated haha :) -
A good co ordinated division of players can wipe the ships in the port fast no question. I don't want to promote something over something else as many things work if GOOD players are present. You can be useful in a BB, a DD, a Cruiser if you co ordinate with a couple of other players :) But a lot of times, I have done the mission with captains playing for first time or not understanding instructions due to language or other factors. When half your team or more is unable to deal any dmg you must find a soloish strategy to move things along :)

man if they catch up wit yr CV, you 95% ded. Secs don't work, you don't know where to turn and the torps hit like a truck. Bonus, you can only use rockets (meh) or booms to stop them (if near surface) and you must have them at hand when the attack begins. I've seen CVs die in the first 10 mins, as some sub captains utilize an old proposed (and ridiculed) DD strategy of going after the CV. THE SS CAN DO THIS. I'm not kidding. You are too stealthy and usually what kills you is ded pretty fast trying to ASW in open waters while being spotted. Even mediocre players will shoot at a CL doing this or DD and most BB captains will take the pot shot at it. Sometimes it only needs to take one BB hit. I've never seen so many Leanders die (the best ship imo for this) as their cautious (usually) captains expose themselves to insane danger.

While you are partly right, teams tend to dilly dally trying to kill the CL (and miss) and this missed time is valuable, is why I propose this approach (it is a CV strategy). Nassau while a big block for the ships wanting to enter from there (there also the dd there so I advice caution for this entrance as it smokes and fires torps immediately) Can easily (Nassau) be derailed and send on the rocks where it can't hit anything for a couple of mins (time for the planes to reload torps and finish it off. It is a very slow ship and turns violently to avoid the first torps in water. Again Caution here, it must go towards the side of the port and not the center, the torps need to come from inside and give it time to turn, killing it is not important this way as it can't harm anything.) Mission can be done attacking the Nassau first ofc, but yr team must kill the CL fast on other side. I don't trust this.

100-120k dmg is very - very doable in CV as you say. Even more if team shoots at the transports or other targets that don't shoot back haha :)

I need to write guide again it seems. in short... 1st attack the Cruiser with torps. IT IS STATIONARY. there is road between the AA to wiggle through for 1-2 good torp runs. Then swing around behind island to send remaining torps on the BB. Do it in a way so it goes towards the land and beaches. Pop fighter, spot DD, return, light it up. Load torps. Hit the CL coming behind the island. Stop it or force towards team (they usually come in at this point from above), Finish off the slow BB, Reload torps, attack the stationary BB, 1-2 runs from the side that allows both torps to hit. Load AP booms, hit Albert, 1-2 (+teamate fire it will die) Send people to stop the CL coming in (do it yourself if no ones listens) Hit it wit rockets/ Go after the DD that tries to get in from other entrance. Rockets. (You can attack the DD first, it is stationary, pop fighter on top) Torps/ to kill the 2 BBs per mission instructions. (You can use AP booms here, but RNG might giv ye da finger) Head towards exit in meantime. Ambush the last wave with torps again. Use Ryu, for better results.

Got them. I don't know what I'm doing obviously. Since I'm already behind some sub gurus that lurk the waters I won't be playing it much as I can't contribute anything. They become increasingly annoying for my CV and the surface ships capable of dealing with them are getting lit up immediately partly cuz I patiently point them out in chat one by one. Once they are gone, from my team or the reds then the game is over as while I can sink all other ships, the last couple of subs just stick head out of water, gimme da finger and some torps and dip down back again. I had 2 little buggers closing on me (I was trying to cap cuz points) and were doing it in turn, dived on one he got under, his friend poped his out , I went for him same thing in reverse/ The dance ended badly for me, you can't beat this. But it is funny as long as losses don't count. I expect the outcry to start the moment games are decided in CB and randoms by them. OR ranked. Now that would be fun.

Dear WG and new players hopefully reading this. The last 3 months I started abstaining from randoms and ranked for personal reasons, vowed to stay calm and helpful in chat and delve more in operations when I had the time. Yesterday and today, I almost lost my cool. I didn't curse, I didn't belittle, none of that. But I found myself typing desperately in chat to a non understanding or communicating audience, begging even (yes it came to that), for my teamates to join me in exit point and win the mission. I have killed the bbs, blocked the waves of incoming ships multiple time by myself. This is not bragging, various players tried to help, BUT NO ONE wished to exit map. Even when the bots stopped coming. It is obvious, multiple times documented, that the player base doesnot, cannot, is unable or incapable of noticing the small instructions on top of screen. They can't read the mini map or spot the small anchor as is. So in order to help and not criticize how about helping them? A blinking red light (as when on fire) with a warning count down (from 5 min onwards) and a siren screaming might do wonders, something to force the players to read, or notice that the mission WON"T end in a WIN if they don't EXIT the map. See how I wrote it? I will do it again. EXIT THE MAP FROM THE ANCHOR POINT else the mission WILL FAIL! (insert blinking text or dramatic music) I'm serious as the plague. I lost 7 operations WITH ALL OBJECTIVES DONE and with more than half the team alive. People refused to go out. again in bigger letters EXIT MAP TO WIN MISSION. It's a font, they can't read it. No problem right? MAKE IT BIGGER. like that more potent fonts below EXIT MAP TO WIN MISSION plz Thanks
