Gentlemen, @MrConway and @Crysantos We will agree to disagree on this one. Nevertheless, thank you for taking the time to answer to my post. Indeed appreciated. Regards Saltface I don't believe your post deserves a reply, however, as your elder I will give you some advise: Thinking is good for you, you should try it sometimes. It doesn't hurt at all, trust me on this one. Also, behaving with a modicum of civility is good for you. And as an added bonus people tend to like you. But I guess its like talking to a brick wall. I run a Premium Account, I don't know how many others do. But I think your answer is very plausible. (emphasis on very) It seems it is not base XP from the number. I ll try to check it if I can find the data.

Dear Friend, It would depend on what ship each one is playing. If both players are playing Destroyers (or any type of ship for that matter - we can only compare similar things right?) I would have higher esteem for Player #1. It seems they are more productive. All possible scenarios are open, but if one looks at the qualitative statistics of a player, as well as all other data and statistics, one can have a more clear picture. As an example I will share a bit of my stats: I belong to a Clan. 30 members. I have a very low win rate (45.70% ranking 18th in my clan in 1,649 battles) but I rank 3rd in Exp. per battle following one player with 52% in 4,133 battles. Here is a small abnormality to the stats. And I raise one more question. Should we compare players with such a difference between battles played? Maybe not. Because someone with a small number of battles includes his learning period results. Statistics is for Sadistics one once said. I agree. I also agree with the tenet that you can prove anything you want with statistics. But I guess how high you rank in your team's scoreboard reflects a bit more, and, if added to the other statistics that are kept we might be able to have more clear image of our progress. @Tyrendian89 Dear Friend, the point is that the WR is marginally reflective of the quality of a player. Or let me put it in a different way, it doesn't reflect many qualitative aspects of ones play. Let's assume that we have a player that ends up in the scoreboard consistently in the top 5 places. How good is he? Or how much he usually contributes to his teams play? Try to think how you would interpret the following numbers Player #1 49% WR Victories Average Placement 3.8 Defeats Average Placement 2.6 Aggregate Placement 3.2 Player #2 51% WR Victories Average Placement 6.2 Defeats Average Placement 4.5 Aggregate Placement 5.4 I will not give you yet my opinion so as not to bias you. Awarding team play with XP

True, but... Lets see... Can the game recognize them? Correct, this is a stochastic issue and not deterministic. Can the Player recognize this? Sure, you just did. See, you publicly recognized another player for doing something good. Why don't you also post the name of the player that did that and give them personal recognition. (this is not naming and shaming) Or post the replay? With time stamps so all can see the good deeds. Your recognition is valuable. And believe me it feels good to the other player when you show it to them. Warm regards Saltface

Penalty for players rushing to their death

This is something else. Actually, I was thinking that if you deliberately shoot at a team mate you should be banned for a time period from random, ranked and clan battles. Your clan, if you are a member of one, should suffer a penalty (your clan mates will shower you with the jewels of the English language for one or kick you out). Deliberately is the operand word here. During the ban period there should be an open season for you in CooP. Your team mates are free to shoot you and get credits and XP for that. In CooP who cares if you have one ship less in your team. I think that deliberate shooting will end at once. Also Sprach Zarathustra Saltface

we all tilt at times. And most of us at the very moment after we tilt we realize it and wonder "why on earth did I do that?" That could be the case with the Myoko.

    It can happen

Well, it can indeed happen! During the opening minutes of a battle - with a bit of confusion going on - while the green team was capping A I did not pay the necessary attention and I collided with a Dallas. I was trying to pass of his stern and he made a hard break to port and... Well, ... ship happens. That I already knew. What I did not know however, is that the Kamikaze can be embedded in the Dallas. I hit the Dallas a bit aft of the aft funnel and as you can see in the attached images the Kamikaze is well inside the Dallas that is dragging it along. Notice the sea on the starboard side of the Kamikaze and the increasing speed of the Kamikaze. I thought that this was because I was still 1/4 ahead but no. I watched the replay and the Dallas was really dragging the Kamikaze along, like those mothers that grab their child from the hand and pull it while it is crying. Normally, the Dallas would feel a bump and turn the Kamikaze to port, rub a bit and it would be going its way. Anyway the Dallas dragged the Kamikaze for about 50 seconds and only when it turned to starboard we "disengaged" If anyone takes a look at the replay, please, disregard my foul language in chat. It can happen

But it can start a vendetta (LOL) Like...and this is only hypothetical....one takes down your name and if you are on same team ever again one sails next to you, sounds the horn, asks you in chat "do you remember me?", and....hypothetical...gives you his carte visite...if the form of a nicely timed salvo of torpedoes so you first hit your R button and then you get to see the back side of the card where it is written "with compliments of the management". Always hypothetically it would be for one a wonderful two pink games with some Rose Brut (a Bollinger par preferance), nice grapes and some brie. Kids don't do this at home.

Penalty for players rushing to their death

What is the purpose of this? A game's purpose is to offer entertainment to the player. How can you enjoy the game doing this? (silly YOLO for some credits) Unless the purpose of the game is to increase the Silver counter and I didn't know it. I don't think so. The pleasure you get after a game you have played well is (or should be) the target. And this is my humble opinion Saltface P.S. I have noticed that sometimes a silly YOLO by one team mate gives the team the match. Simple example is a premature attempt (by one ship that we will say performed a YOLO act) to a Cap in a Standard game. Either the red team shifts attention and rushes back to their Cap to defend it or they lose. Result is that the Green team can get out of a pressing situation, push back, relocate from bad positions, get recomposed and sometimes also win the match. WoW can be like chess sometimes. You sacrifice a pawn or a tower or even your queen for the check mate. Enough written here. Random is Random, you get all. Want't rules in your team? Play with a Clan.

    It can happen

Maybe he was "right" but he did a rather hard break to port instead of pushing in the cap to finish capping it. Or, as some reds were on their way he could had gone behind the island to the west of A. I was on my way to pass west of the island as I was undetected to torp them as they would be pushing. He did a very unexpected maneuvering. *edited* Windows 7 Pro, 64 Bit. Logical, I m middle age and classic. LOL I even wear a pochette (pocket square)

    The Odd Man Out

Dears, One wishes to thank you all for your valuable advise, tips, comments, critique and all your valuable time. The game is much more enjoyable now. Just for you to know, only by trying to apply what you have indicated (by no means one claims to have mastered or really become proficient on the nuanced play of destroyers) one manages to end up in the top 5 of the team when we win and if it is any consolation top of the team when we lose. It is decided to go down the IJN line. The Kamikaze game of stealth and the Type 92 Torpedoes she launches are so very attractive. The Mutsuki and Minekaze are next. Trying to figure out which one should be done first. We will see. Time will show. Sincerely Saltface
