    Criteria for Success

I forgot to add "compliments from teammates and from better players" You see dear friends, there is no bigger satisfaction for a "player" of a "game" than the recognition of his fellow "players". We tend to forget that we are playing a game and we want to play it well*. For, this is the purpose and joy of the "game". Regards and indulge me Saltface *git gud in the forum colloquial

Atlanta (VII) - shooting range 15,5 kms???

Why don’t we stop this here and now. OP said what he wanted to say, did not post a replay, so, what all the fuss? Actually this thread should have two posts. The OP and one more asking for a replay. Any subsequent post should come after the replay is uploaded. unless you all want to increase your post count. Regards Saltface p.s. 3 pages in this thread is not a good sign for the forum

    Criteria for Success

I could not say it better. There are games where you don’t score high, you don’t have kills but you know you played a good game. And by by the way, unless you are delusional you know when you played a really good game. You can’t lie to yourself, or can you?

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance

No need to ask, I will tell you myself. No one even thought about shaming me. Instead they gave me advise, hints, tips, some even proposed to div up with me. (which I did and I have new friends now) They took the battles I posted, lost* their time to view them, lost* their time to comment and write long posts criticizing them and ripping them apart. You can see my post : In response I took all the work they did, I studied it and tried to apply what they have taught me. It seems it worked. Because....I assure you NOW I ENJOY THE GAME so much more. I understand it better, I am enjoying carrying games when my team potatoes (I also potato but a lot less than before), my team mates give me compliments, my stats look a lot better... well in a few words, I just play a lot better and I enjoy a lot more. As a closing remark....these people that helped me...they didn't know me..I wasn't their budy...I was just a new guy in the forum. This speaks a lot about the people in the forum. *lost - I hope their time was not lost. Regards Saltface
  9. Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi* Luck is paramount. I was lucky. But a game that you lose and you snatch in the last 10 seconds is something to enjoy. The replay is attached. The Red team made all the errors in the book. I simply took advantage of them. Nevertheless, the taste is wonderful. You are losing the match. Last ten seconds you snatch it out of their hands. Not to mention the compliments from team-mates. Those are .... Priceless. * Carl Orff - Carmina Burana (1935-1936) 20190313_131441_PJSD025-True-Kamikaze_04_Archipelago.wowsreplay

Is the WoWs grind too generous

Dear All, dear @Bear_Necessities, I can give you the insight of a novice player (that would be me). Despite the fact that I have close to 3K battles (1,900 in random) I do consider me to be a novice. I found it very easy to grind up to TX. As it was mentioned, you can buy bonus boosts for XP, Commander XP, Credits etc. So I even managed to free XP my way past Roon to my only TX, the Hindenburg. (well, I have put 200 battles on Yorck and another 200 on Hipper but still..) What did I accomplish? Nothing. I just smashed my face in high tiers. Eventually I rolled back to TVII with a Shcharnhorst. So, I found out how to play at a decent level a BB. Then I started grinding the German Line. I enjoyed it. And I was not in a hurry. About a month ago I fell back to T5 when I decided to learn how to play DD. And believe me I only occasionally visit high tiers now. What does all this mean? Easy. High tiers can be frustrating for a novice player. Most importantly, in high tiers a novice will not learn how to play the game. Is it so important? Let the "noobs" (please don't use this term as it is rather derogatory) be food for our XP farming. No. It is bad for the seasoned players also. They will never enjoy a good game that requires more subtle approach. What do we have now in TX? A camp fest. Slow play. No fun. And so many roflstomps. Why? primarily because the player base of TX is not TX. In brief, yes it is easy to get to TX. Should it be more hard in terms of credits and XP etc? No. This could be used for other lines at low tiers. Let a player that has reached TV and TVI use their credits and XP to unlock other nations' TIV, TV or TVI. What would be a viable solution? Maybe, if there was some kind of a threshold that you need to pass in addition to credits and XP. For example, and it is not well thought out, you need at least 47.5% WR and X amount of average damage (last 50 battles) in previous tier before you move on to the next. You can get the ship (we want WG to make money) you can play it in CooP but Rendom? Nope. You need to be "gudish" before you move on. If you are not then "git gudder". Regards, Saltface
  11. It is part of a civilized argument. I respect both you and your arguments. However, I am not convinced that this is done for the favor of balancing. All new releases indicate that I m not wrong to be suspicious. Regards Saltface
  12. I would agree with you 100%. However, my dear, balancing as you call it is to reduce the abilities of one ship that has completed her product cycle and put on for sale another ship that has a tad more abilities creating thus a new chain of sales. Balancing is just a pretense. Now for a bit of history: Fujin sold in bundles around Hallowe'en of 2015 starting at $31.99 US and included the ship, 3 days premium and 50 signal flags. The Kamikaze R was made available through the Project R campaign which ran from January to mid February 2016. Now it doesn't need 3 years to realize that a ship is OP. Simply after the Santa Crates the "product" has completed the "cycle". Lets not pretend that it is all for fairness. Its business. And I clearly state that I do not like this business practice.Paying customers are not sheep. Well not for long. Once they discover that they are hustled they will just wait for the next promising product and "oops" dump the old one. This is why I respectfully disagree with you. Regards Saltface
  13. This is true, you do not complain when they give you a gift. You say thank you. You are comparing two different things. It is not double standards. It is two different things.
  14. Excuse me kind Sir, but if someone/something is offensive it is not the ship that the company you represent has designed, coded and sold to its customers only to change it later. Sincerely Saltface
  15. I hope, because.....I don't want the Staling...I can't even say that name....
  16. I am missing 50 steel to get her. Banging head on wall

Opinion: What looks better on the Warspite?

Do you have something in pink, a nice pastel tone that will bring warmth and make the guns stand out. I think pink would be nice with the shape of the mast.

  24. Not only today Story as follows: Solomon Islands - One CV per team - 4 DDs per team. We are losing bad with 14 minutes left on the timer. We are 183 - 478 and 4 to 8 Ships down. It looks like we are going to lose a roflstomp. The West flank is not progressing and the East flank has collapsed. 4 Red vessels are going from East to cap. I sink a BB at the West flank and rush to protect our base. With 6:00 left on the timer I have killed another 3 (2 BB and 1 Cruiser) Points 328 - 328. Flat EVEN. And I m left one vs one with an Exeter on the red side. Points are even. I rush south to the red cap. The Exeter pops up in my face 3:30 approx on the timer. I manage not to die (because I lost a bit control and I beached) and torped her. She doesn't sink and goes back to red cap. I pop in the red cap for a few seconds just to make them lose 4 points. And I play hide and seak with the Exeter until the end. Victory 20190308_235314_PJSD025-True-Kamikaze_01_solomon_islands.wowsreplay A big thank you to all my friends that spent time and effort to teach me how to play DDs Regards Saltface

    2 types of players

If I may interject First, we are able to mute anyone that gets on our nerves. So "toxic" (I would say childish) chat should not even be a problem. If you can' t ignore a dummy that hidden behind the anonymity of the keyboard types stupidity, then you need to learn how to control your emotions better. Life is tough as it is so sensitivities like that are not useful. Second, bad play. Deliberate bad play. Given the fact that we are playing a game, a competitive game, if one of our team members is deliberately killing the game we have a problem. Why this problem is more serious than the first one? Well, its a competitive game. No one wants to lose because someone on purpose makes you lose and you cant do anything about it. In contrast to the first case, where you can simply ignore the idiot. Third, bad play. Bad play because the player is not good but does his/her best to play the game. Well, no problem. There are players that are not so good. Part of the game. so in brief Idiots and trolls are ignored, bad players are accepted as a fact of the game, players that ruin the game of others get on my nerves. Regards Saltface
