Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
Saltface replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
I am known for being polite. However, you are getting on my nerves. So I will tell you mister. You are the reason God invented the middle finger. Any thread you have participated you are picking fights with everybody. You call everybody names, you behave as if a Troll, a Karen and a Drama Queen had a threesome and got a baby out of it. My kind? Boy, you are out of your league. I had enough of you. -

@Molly_Delaney simple, it is not what you write, it is who you are. They downvote the person, not what he wrote. I have come to the conclusion that the mental faculties are absent. They just read the name and then they downvote. What the person wrote is irrelevant. On a second thought, they don't even understand what is written. -

Why can't a T8 and a T6 play operations in a division?

Why can't a T8 and a T6 play operations in a division?

The server is open for all. It is an initiative aimed at making OPs more fun by letting us all play in teams. There is also a section that we post (till now I am the only one) YT vids on operations. Explainers, guides, etc. https://discord.gg/gBqP5mT -
Why can't a T8 and a T6 play operations in a division?
Saltface replied to RenamedUser_92906789's topic in General Discussion
The contents of the main attack wave differ slightly depending on whether all previous secondary objectives were achieved. If all enemies are sunk before breaching the base, the main attack will contain an Yamato-class battleship, Musashi, (Kousotsu). Otherwise, the main attack will contain the Myōkō, Hipper and Yamato-class battleship, Yamato, (Gunkan) that would have spawned in pursuit of Romeo. Sinking the Yamato (Gunkan) is considered an additional secondary objective. It is worth noting that all the attacking ships are either German or Japanese, so wise captains should choose ships from nations that are better against them. yup, I was reading it while you posted. There is this distinct case where a TX is in a OP -

No mate. The ships that spawn in operations are the same every time. How do I know? I play operations almost exclusively. A few ranked and randoms now and then. I haven't seen any variation in the ship mix. When you bring a T6 in Operations the other ships in your team are still T7s and T8s. There is no separation. Simply, the HP pool of the red bots increases the more T8s in your team. (*) Max tier in OPs is T9 (Musashi in Newport, Iowa in Ultimate Frontier) - Des Moines always spawns in Newport on your team. Excuse me but I disagree. It is just fine. e.g. Since you brought up DDs, a T61 with fast torpedo reload works miracles in Aegis or Ultimate Frontier. The latter is more problematic since bots do use radar. However, the opening wave of 3 BBs and Indianapolis as well as the Omaha wave that follows, are good opportunity for a high score for a T6 torpedo boat. Or a Leander. Maybe I am wrong and my memory doesn't serve me well. Which TX have you seen in operations? Neither am I. This is what I have noticed as well. If we are to test it, next time we end up with a 6 or 7 people division we should all pick a T6 and see what happens. Or when we are in a 3 boat div we all pick a T6 and see what happens. Every time we play in Div the majority of the other players on our team are T8. -
you are being pedantic. You know that, don't you?

Not really. While you have to be more prudent you can do good games in a T6. I grinded the IJN light cruiser line like that and now the PA TVI so when they hit the server I ll get the T7 easy. Not to mention that PA captains will get a few XP points. Operations are a known riddle. You know which ship spawns when and where. You just have to adjust your play a tad and be careful. No funny heroics. e.g. With Kutuzov I will play the south flank in ultimate frontier. In the PA T6 I will simply go north east of the islands take care of the Dallas and run to the heal point and work from there. In killer whale I will go for the transports and then depending where most go I will follow and give gunnery support. And so on and so forth. -

You are getting in smoke bloom details. I agree. But then I would have to write a primer about detection and visibility. Because what you said is true only if the ship that shoots has a concealment in smoke when firing guns greater than 10Km. A german cruiser, Mainz for example with 8.7 KM if I remember well will not. Also, if you have your hydro active and a ship is inside your hydro range will be spotted even if you are behind an island. You will get spotting damage as well. The basic thing that should be known from all is that smoke blinds both ways. When you smoke up they cant see you and you cant see them. If you are the forward DD you actually blind your team. What made me write that answer was the fact that our friend did not know the basic mechanics of vision and concealment. If he would have written, guys, I did so and so and I got no damage. Why? What is the mechanic in play? This would be another story altogether. Our fellow forumite, not only did not know the basics, but, for all intents and purposes he was aggressive and he considered that it was WG fault. -

I am sorry for your predicament. But, your condition does not prohibit (or inhibit) you to know that you cannot spot through smoke. Also, you should know that once a red ship fires her guns she is detectable by all ships within her range. Therefore, you will get no spotting damage for that ship. Knowing game mechanics has to do with reading not with reflexes. Spotting damage is easy. -
For anyone that knows me, it shouldnt be a surprise that I post a benham game. This is my personal best and the 36th best EU server performance. At least I have a top 100 ships game.

Better late than never. After the rework the previous guides are rather obsolete. Slowly, but steadily, I will complete the new ones. Hope you find them usefull.

@TenshiAkumaNdnd nice seeing you and just for the record -
I am not looking for a debate nor I wish to advocate for or against WG. I leave these tasks to the keyboard warriors. I find that Ranked is a good way to farm but others' performance is incumbent OPs are relaxing and fun when played with friends. Playing solo is something I do not do a couple of years now. So I do my missions while having fun with friends and get all the goodies they give without giving a rats a$$ about all the rest. e.g. I did not do the submarines missions or the other web campaign. I couldn't care less.

Technically speaking the first three daily missions are very easy to complete in any mode. CoOp - Renked - OPs - Randoms etc. If you want to maximize output per unit of time maybe the 2 first (300 and 500 XP) could be done in CoOp the third one in Operations. Same applies for Weeklies. However, Operations is by far the best mode to finish the daily and the weekly missions. Even a one star victory is going to contribute XP and imho the reworked OPs economy, while it has reduced max XP in 5 star victories you get decent rewards for even 2 or 3 stars.
