This can not go on like that .... WG please do something
Saltface replied to Oncle_Fetide's topic in General Discussion
What if I told you both that your course of action is wrong. I will not lay my arguments about rules, etiquette or whatever... Just numbers and logic. I will evaluate your decision to support your CV (ethically - you are right to support your team mate) by killing the Team Killer. WRONG CALL not only you will not achieve anything but you will also be penalized. Read the following from https://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Teamkilling "A player that is penalized as a direct result of team damage (esp. killing a teammate) suffers effects in that battle. A penalty is assessed immediately and announced both by voice and in chat. The player may turn pink. Any team damage thereafter is reflected back to him as a percentage. For example, if a pink player deals 10,000 damage to an Allied ship and the damage constitutes 50% of that ship's starting hit point pool, the teamkiller's ship loses 50% of his ship's starting HP. At the same time, the teamkiller's victims receive only 10% of the actual damage that would be caused (5% for torpedoes). They still receive the full resulting fire and flooding damage, although Wargaming may reduce this in future. Should the teamkiller continue to damage allied ships, the percentage of damage reflected back to him will increase until his ship is destroyed." The DD would have sunk from reflected damage - the CV would have suffered only 5% of the nominal damage. You would not loose your CV You suffered reflected damage that you shouldn't. You were lucky you didn't need that lost HP of yours. Technically it is wrong to shoot at a team killer. He cant deal damage and he will sink from reflected damage. -
I am not discussing if and how AA should or should not be. I am doing the numbers and I decide not to spec for AA because it is worthless (IMHO) for the reasons I explained. My opinion is not about balance, RTS, FFR, CID, BOT lol what ever. I say: Specing AA is worthless. And I showed the numbers.
-
OFC not. Effective would be to allow only one strike, but this cannot happen effectively by specing into AA. As I said, poor players will get smashed by stock flak, good players wont get smacked even if I spec all the way. So, I don't spec. It has a bad cost/benefit analysis. btw I am a DD main.

I am no CV player but I know numbers. I analyzed (with permission) an attack of an Enterprise squadron flown by a Super Unicum player against a Cleveland. I need permission to disclose the name. The squadron spent 7 seconds in the flak zone. 0 Flak damage only Long range aura DPS and 4 more seconds to complete the first strike. Lost one plane to DPS. What is the AA DPS to kill lets say 2 more planes during the first approach? Stock Rocket Fighters or whatever you call them have 1400 HP. Times 2 = 2,800. you need 4 seconds in mid and long range aura and 7 in long range aura DPS to deal 2800 damage you need to TRIPLE the AA of the Minotaur or the Halland to do that. No AA skill will triple your AA DPS and the Mino has one of the strongest AA systems. So you will spend all your skill points and upgrades and you will not manage to do damage that cannot be replenished by regeneration. You will have the psychological satisfaction that you brought down a few more planes but it will have no real effect on the CV because it will simply regenerate the losses. On the other hand you will not spec your ship with other useful skills and upgrades that you will miss during battle. If the CV is played by an average to bad player then he will eat the Flak. Flak causes damage. You deal really good damage and the small amount of DPS (if you haven't spent the skill point to spec for AA) is enough to bring down more planes. My conclusion AA is not efficient no matter how heavy you invest on it therefore I will not invest on AA. I don't need to spend my resources for psychological effect. I know that when I play against a bad player I can deal with no extra specs and a good player no matter what I do will sink me. This is why I also claim AA is useless. For bad CV players I don't need the extra AA, stock is enough to wax them. For good CV players no matter how much I invest I cant invest enough to fight against them. qed

I have never played a random game out of respect of my team mates. But you are right. So....I have spent many many hours in Training room and coop (for snowflakes) and OPs. LOL Just not randoms. My team mates deserve my DD not my experiments. here look you need to play CV for that -

two things: 1. Two teams with 22 players at Messi level would give a spectacular helluva match. 2. This is a question. The Messi player of your example which team do you think he would like to play with? My bet goes on the team with another 11 players of that level. And you know what? I think the Messi of your example is lazy and just wants to retire. He will just play D levels. -

Actually I take the light headed approach. I dont care about Rank above 10. The Steel and Gold are enough. It gives good XP and Credits (win/lose) So who cares, just play for the XP and the Credits and try to do your best without investing psychologically. -

I think when in the Forum, one has to be more polite. In RL during a conversation you have body posture, facial expressions, hand gestures and tone of voice, all that can help keep what you say in real context. This is not the case on the internet where one can only read what you write. You really need to be more careful on the net. -

No mate. It is not true. And this is not what happened. I will not answer to the dude that made the OP. I will answer you. You deserve it. He doesn't. A good player, well respected and recognized in our community, gave some solid and sound advice and answered the OP. In return he was aggressively trolled. Please mate go read again the beginning of this sad thread. All the posts this person made were completely out of line. Insulting, provoking, trollish... and then he moves the goal posts to claim that he has been discriminated against because he has whatever stats he has. Come on, lets be real, the dude came and made a mess and then he tries to pretend he is a victim and get sympathy tokens by playing the WR discrimination card. It is not the same thing as the one that you want to discuss. And I want to discuss this subject and most of the friends and fellow forumites here would be willing to discuss. But mate, this case is not the one in my opinion. I think you fell for his appeal for sympathy for the wrong reasons. In retrospect we should have stopped there and just refer the matter to the Mods. -
He is good for all PA ships. He has extra fire starting (not only for aircraft) and increased amount of HP if you skill SE. Both very useful for ALL PA ships. No he cannot get on another nation's ship.

Have you considered better positioning of your CV so you save on BFT/AFT which is a good 7 points? IMHO if your CV is under attack your team has collapsed or you have positioned badly. In the first case there is nothing you can do. In the second case you can. Position better. My 2 cents and I am not a CV player. -

When one thing goes wrong a vicious circle may start. One thing leads to another and before you know it the situation is "shittty" just to use some foul language and stay on topic. LOL The only solution in my way of seeing things is to cut the circle. You cannot fix it. So Step 1 is to STOP Step 2 (if and when necessary) is to see who is at fault and how much blame is on that person or the other. but putting an end to stupidity is the first step - and this MUST be bilateral. -

Why do I feel that this is good news? I think you are right. We can have a discussion based on facts, evidence and data ... and not fight. The problem comes when one part of the discussion puts feelings and ideology before facts. We cant have a discussion like that. I am optimistic -

You rank out only in sprints and you have ranked out ONCE and it took you 413 battles to do so. On the other hand the guy that gave you the advice has 8 times more battles than you, is a hugely better player than you and has ranked out so many times that I am bored to count. And it did not take him 413 battles to do so. Dude, your attitude sucks. You ranked out only once, didn't you? you are not worth the typing effort of anyone in this forum. Tag: @Execute0rder66 -
