Well, 4 years ago the forum was a place that had lots of crap but also had many good players that shared their knowledge and you could learn. I did learn how to play from the help I got here. Now it is a place that most (not all) come to whine, post conspiracy theories about the game and WG, berate others for whatever reaso. Others are good players then we say they are elitists purple stat padders, they are bad? then they are potatoes, they play in division? cheaters...etc etc oh and lest I forget the game is rigged and WR is no indicator of quality. Oops, almost missed it. The earth is flat. He is one of the best players on this Forum. Credibility? Dude, he has my undivided attention when he speaks about an issue concerning the game. I took from the forum, I ll give back. And I don't write only for Aethervoxx to read. More read the analysis. Some, might pick up something. I will disagree with you. IMHO it has been dumbed down AND people still do not try to understand it.

We tried it. It is not this. We went up to the A line before the escorts were sunk. We also tried the 7, 8, 9 line. also this does not work. The trigger (if not totally random - unlikely case) is more complicated.

Well, I think we have something to try out.

There is a trigger (haven't figured it out yet) that spawns the BBs.Till now we thought that it happens when the third wave (escorts) are killed very late. You screenpost shows that our guess is not right. I don't think that's the case. When I play DD and Aegis pops up, I go to the red circle north of the island in B4 B5 where I wait for the two BBs to spawn. It does not trigger this spawn. I thought it was related with how late you kill the escort wave. But, apparently, it isn't so.

Here you go, a bid of wisdom for you. Out of 10 battles you will lose 3 no matter how you play. You will also win 3 no matter how you play. How you do in the remaining 4 battles is the influence you bring to the game. Win all 4 and you will be in the 0.5% of players with 70% WR, Loose all 4 and you are on the other side of the spectrum. How do we know that? Look at the WR distribution. 99% of players are between 30% and 70% winrate. Your syllogism is faulty. You do not have 4.17% effect on the battle. Being 1/24 players does not mean you have 1/24 effect on the battle outcome. This would be true if all 24 ships were the same.

Exactly. He is a good player that played the Operation as it should have been played. He belongs to the top 20% of players (17% by interpolation of the data in the table in spoiler) by WR. He is one of the two players out of ten that know how to play the game and carry their weight in a match. And yes. He made a mistake. He thought that the other "floating potatoes" would be at least able to understand the Written, Spoken and graphically displayed operation's instructions. This was his grave error. It appears that most players today do not possess two functioning brain cells between their ears. Some of them are also rude like you. And intellectually lazy. This symbol (which you should know if you are remotely as good as you profess you are) is the symbol of your ship after you have been sunk. Easy to find on the map. You did not need an answer to the question. I did. You, on the other hand, most probably did not watch it. I also made a mini map replay. You want me to post it? The Petro would have killed you. Numbers are numbers. He did 40K+ damage on you. How did he do it? because you were angled? LOL He got full pens on your broadside. Lets have a more detailed look at it. Image 1: 2 minutes 43 in the game. You are FULL broadside to the Iowa, a T9 BB with nasty guns. Also to the Yamato that (if he was a good player - he wasn't - I checked) could have blapped you. The Nebraska and the Hawke also have a good angle on you. The Hawke is not so much a problem, We know you are spotted. Look at the little orange lines next to you. These are shells from the Iowa. Look at your potential damage now. 5700. Now look at Image 2. Only 2 seconds later, you eat 3,200 damage from that little yellow line, you get on fire and you have now and extra 46K potential. That could be painful. It was a 50K salvo that missed your broadside. Lucky you. You just ate one shell. But look at you, the great player in Image 3. You demonstrate your magnificence. You insta repair. 2 friggin seconds later. This is elementary school stuff for BB players. Do not repair one fire. You can heal it up later. You are full HP. Insta repair? Potato noob stuff. A couple of minutes later you are indeed angled to the Riga and the Marseille and do some damage to the broadside Riga (T9 so you know where you get XP from). These 3 minutes where well played. But, you are like the cow that kicks the bucket she just filled with milk. And here comes the Broadside Saga in pictures. The Broadside Saga continues You start your battle with the Petro at 60K HP. You are not angled. He chunks you for 6K in Image 4. A few seconds later in Image 5 he gets another 9K of you. You start repairing. But you do not even consider to point your nose towards the Petro. If you are afraid of COVID just wear a mask. By Image 6 you are down to 33K (while repairing) and you are reversing in panic. The Montana (from the other side of the map) is punishing the Petro (Ignacio and Napoli helping) and you get one hit on him for 1-2 K and get the kill. During this time he killed your Amagi. You, instead of pressing D while reversing to turn your nose in to the Petro you were trying to hide behind the island with A pressed. But, this opened your side up and gave nice shots. With the Petro sunk you have 53648 HP damage. Now comes the Iowa. I don't blame you for ramming. You could have avoided it but what for? He went for the ram and you took it. What you did not do however, is effect damage because of your play. You just sucked in his remaining HP. You did not shoot that HP. But, it popped up your damage count. So, now you have 100K damage (on T9s and T10s), you think you played well, but you didn't. This is exactly how you got 3rd. You did damage on higher tier ships and you got the Iowa with the ram. That pumped up your XP. It does not reflect the quality of your play. So, it does compute. I saw how you aimed. You can't hit a barn from the inside. When you post a battle in the forum, don't seek validation. Look for harsh critique. This will help you understand (I hope, unless you are dumb as a carrot) your errors and bad plays. This is how you get better. By recognizing your mistakes. Then, and only then, you can fix them. However, if you think you played well, I will be more than happy to have you in my matches. I offer a spot on the red team for you.

Here is your primer. This is how you play Aegis. Note how our two randoms died during the second wave (because they went south - Hipper died during the first wave - Lazo died second wave) So, 4 players that simply know what they are doing are enough + in this case a CV that did not screw up. Did you notice that we were shooting the DDs? Did you notice when I popped my hydro? You know the DDs are there, pop a hydro and shoot them. FFS @Montrala - It is better that the Fletcher smokes somewhat fast. The smoke shooting bloom is rather big. When I play Mainz or Kutuzov I hope for an early smoke so it is useful. Especially if your team does not kill the bots fast and they turn in, you get detected on your next shot. @RenamedUser_92906789 this is what happens when you play alone LOL LOL LOL

Game review You played bad. You showed broadside all the time. Just look at how the Petro punished you. He would have killed you if it wasn't for the Montana, the Ignacio and the Napoli that actually killed him (you took the last HP off him and claimed the kill). You did less than 8K damage on him and he did 40K on you. So much about this encounter. You did not have any meaningful impact on the game. Your damage was coincidental. You rammed an Iowa at the end of the game so you pumped it up. But here again, that Iowa was full broadside to you and you just shot bonkers. Your shooting is laughable. And dude, start using the shift key. IMHO your team would win the game even if you were AFK. You say that somehow you did survive. Mate, you did not participate in the game so until one moment, yes you survived. When you had the first meaningful encounter with that Petro we saw what happened. The Zao and the Black on your flank did all the job. You just rammed your way to the third place. Concerning the second line of your text. Where you begin to think. Look at how bad you play and leave the others alone. Fix your game first and then go out to critique other's games and or play quality.
