My friend, chill. On this one you are aggressive and IMHO on the wrong side of the equation. If we take both Shima and one of us has no SE you are going to lose 4 out of 5, save for the lucky torp you are going to land. There is something called a training room. You can challenge anyone you like, get your two Shimakaze and play 5 battles. But my dearest friend, you are going to lose this one. Maybe, you feel that you are doing OK with Shima with no SE. You know better as we cant see your stats on shima (hidden). I posted my last 50 battles with Shima. My credentials are there. Based on my experience SE is mandatory. I would suggest you take your time to think what a few good DD players told you and posted in this thread and further evaluate it. Maybe, you can see the value of what they suggest.

I feel I need to post on this one. My credentials are in the spoiler - 5th Season Ranked - Bronze and Gold. My build in this spoiler On topic now. Can you play the shima without SE? Yes you can. You can play also with no deto flag, no camo and no captain at all. You can also jump out of the window if you like. But it is a dumb thing to do. We can argue if Torpedo Reload is more valuable than Adrenaline Rush. But, sorry, we cannot argue about SE. IMHO. The four skills to the right are your first 10 points. For the rest do what you want. Obviously you are advocating for a system that will guarantee WR of 50% for all. You are looking for equality of outcome not equality of opportunity. I strongly disagree with the premise. Why should WR be compressed around 50% (+ or - a small number)? Why should all win and lose the same irrespective of contribution, quality, skill etc.? Success in the game and outcome (WR, XP earned, silver, speed of progress up the tech tree) are the byproduct of myriad factors, most of which are attributable to our biological nature and our experiences - not just our baseline opportunities (MM in our case). So let’s break this down. If I am twice as thoughtful, work twice as hard to learn how to play the game, understand the consumables, perks, armor schemes, and win twice as much , should you win just as much as me? Now lets move to my second point. WG is a company. WG is not a social institution or a charity. The managers of WG have a legal obligation towards their shareholders to maximize profit. They do not offer entertainment for free. So long they operate within the boundaries of the law I am perfectly fine with this fact. If they use psychology to make you spend more, well, sorry dude, you should be less naive and figure that out and keep your wallet closed. Do you need protection?

IMHO, and I can speak only about DDs hands down the Shimakaze, but this is my torpedo boat bias. These are my season 5 stats in her. And these are the other sips I played with success My best performer is Shima. The Ragnar and the Marceau have very few battles on them so I guess they don't count. This season is BB dominated in numbers, so the Wall of Skill is very productive

Because I have played it. I tried both TVI and TVII. I tried many ships to see how they will perform. Now I know.

I recently played a T VII battle in my Gadjah Mada and earned my first Solo Warrior. It was a 1 vs 7 situation. I did some research and found some spectacular performances in terms of damage and kills. But did not find a bigger ship difference, Has anyone heard of 1 vs 8 or more? Or my 1 vs 7 is a record? It was a very frustrating game. For both teams. The red team while two ships down and almost 300 points back managed to turn it around. They eliminated all of my team and took all 4 caps. However, a last minute kill turned the tables around. The dialogue is revealing. Anyway, if someone knows of a game that ended with a bigger difference than 1 vs 7 please post it.

You brought stats up first, you called someones opinion stupid because he did not agree with you. So, as far as I am concerned you are a rude lil bugger that does not know how to conduct a discussion. Furthermore, your arguments are silly. If you are a Hurricane level player you started out from Squall. You know exactly what the meta is. If you think someone needs more than 63 battles to understand what the level is then you need to think harder. And I am doing exactly what I preach. @Hakssor wow dude you are aggressive and insulting to other forumites and that's not nice. This is my first point. Second, do not use stats as an argument. It will be the argument that you will lose. Your performance is questionable. So, if you are trying to insult others by bringing up their stats, dude, this is a boomerang. It will fly back and hit you on the head. Let me tell you that nothing will change with low tiers in ranked. Bad players are bad players, no matter what tier they are playing. As you lower the tiers you give access to more novice players. All players with only a few T8 ships in their collection can play. While it is more "inclusive" (I call bullsh1t) it allows more players with no experience to participate. So, more bad players will be in the game. And now for my suggestions. I know you will not like them. Lets make the bronze - silver and gold related to WR in randoms. under 50% bronze, under 55% they can play silver if they want and above is Gold (again optional). Or lets make qualification to be as it is but you can move to the next tier with a WR over 50%. Anyway, I don't think anything will change by having lower tier ships. And you can downvote me anytime you like.

That's why I posted my setup above. Swift in Silence for 4 points will add 8% speed. Base speed for the Benham is 36.5 add speed boost 8% and speed signal 5% it goes to 41.3 add Swift in Silence (when not detected) and you have an additional 8% - 44.7 So, if you are with a speed boost active, run the speed flag, and, you are not detected you still cannot escape a gunboat that is chasing you. You can outrun who you would outrun before, well now you will outrun the Shima as well. As I see it you are spending 4 points and leaving out the only thing that will save you if you get under fire. Last stand. A few more pointers Benham is good at stopping pushes. You don't need more speed to do that. If you lead a push consider that pushing is as fast as the ships that follow you. A gun boat like Marceau would have more use for this skill. Lets do the numbers: Base speed 44 + flag 5% = 46.2 Add french speed boost 20% = 55.4 so a Marceau when not detected can sail @ 59.8 This has value. But you must also consider that you lose 5% of your reload. Expensive skills (4 and 3 pointers) have to be carefully selected. You have to evaluate what you trade for each skill. Losing last stand is a serious decision. Your torps are 10.5 K range. You will get radared @ high tiers. You will be spotted by a plane. This will invalidate your skill benefit. And if you lose your engine you will not be able to dodge. These are my thoughts.
