No DD on - 43 is to blame (aka Radarhack

The difference is that you live a lot longer in a BB or a CV than in a DD if you make mistakes. So, I guess having a bad game in a BB / CV is less frustrating than in a DD. I noticed that too. As a DD I hate playing against other DDs more than against CV or radar. Only good thing is, that after surviving the first 5 mins usually DD numbers are reduced significantly.

No DD on - 43 is to blame (aka Radarhack

Fascinating, a lot of DD player I see in-game have not so good or even bad stats but apparently still keep playing. I also have some moments where I ask my self, why not join the battleship zerk, there is a Thunderer waiting to be used :). But that's are only weak moments!

    Long Range Torpedo Dilemma

12 km are not "long range". DDs are fast, but most torps are much faster. So, the DD can not simply push the magical "warp-speed" button and catch your torps if he wasn't already near to your torp line. He was maybe not directly io your torp line, but he was in an angle in front of you. Which means you fired clearly from the second line - which you shouldn't. Again, 12 km are not long range. For example 20 km Shima torps are. And there are plently of shima players that use this torps and don't damage or kill their team mates. I almost never get torped by other DDs, even DDs somtimes operate close to each other. Do you know why? Because you only fire torps if you front line. Otherwise you stay down. Realy, cruiser or even BBs want to use torps as main weapon should play DDs instead.

    Submarines

I have even a better idea for WG: While homing torps are already historically incorrect, why not give SS anti-ship missiles. I mean, how cool would that be, eh?!? And SS players do not even to attack bow on! It's even more easier!
  7. I would say: it depends. In the first quarter of the game taking a cap is IMHO irrelevant and often very risky. It's more important to put pressure to the enemy flank at the cap, so you can take it without having to pray that no radar cruiser or CV sink you. If I contesting a cap, I often let the enemy DD make the first step, even in a stealth boat like the lightning. While the enemy DD takes the cap, I try to spot for my team, spotting torps and set some fires to BBs. I know exactly where the enemy DD is, so knows our CV and our radar cruisers. If my team can set enough pressure so that the enemy DD is loosing support, I start capping. If we fail setting enough pressure, we had loose that cap anyway, even if I would have capped it from the beginning.
  8. Ah ok, mein Fehler.

    Submarines

IMHO the real problem with subs are homing torps. Balance wise it would be better to blind fire them in the way DDs do. SS torps should be single fire mode as RN DDs. They should be able to choose between deep water or normal torps. They should have slightly lower reload times than DDs (60-80 seconds). Torp speed should be slightly lower than PAN EU DDs, e.g. T6: 65 kph base, T10:75 kph base. If DDs can hit a BB with unguided torps, why a SS can't? I recently instant-deleted a BB with a lightning just by using single fire torps at 6 km range. SS in contrast can even attack at lower distance without being spotted - and are not target of radar or CV spotting. Currently it seems like WG want's to introduce "under water easy mode DDs", while making life for DDs even harder (using water bombs to nuke DDs in smoke ... yeah ... radar and hydro and firing in smoke and random CV attacks are not enough. How about just remove smoke and give all DDs heal or reload booster). Even as DD main I have to say: poor BB players. At least, skilled BB player now can evade DD torps by using WASD and some evasive maneuvering. Apparently, this will not work for SS.

Fen Yang T8 Pan Asian DD announced

IMHO I really think that this new PA DD will be not a good DD. The very similar Akizuki is a good ship but IMHO not a good DD. It's very large, sluggish, high turning radius, slow with mediocre concealment for a t8 DD. More a pocket CA than a DD. If I had to decide to run the Aki or the Lightning, I would always choose the Lightning - or the Cossack for more guns. With the PA smoke the Fen Yang might have some advantage over the Aki. But in fact you can do smoke up and HE spam already with a Gadja Mada in T7. The much better fire chance should make up for the lower gun damage of the Gadja, while having better maneuverability, 360° gun turrets and same concealment and 2x4 Torps that actually can hit cruisers.

A Message to the BB Captains.

It's really a gamble. Sometimes as a DD player I have outstanding support and the team shoots at priority targets I spot and mark. Ironically these are the matches where I can farm the least damage. In some matches, I risk a lot to spot HE spamming (radar) cruisers behind an island and nobody (which includes not only BB but also cruisers player ) seem to bother to use this advantage to sink it.
  15. Out of interest: how about RN DD T9+? Those have sub 120 mm cannons with only 19 mm HE pen? It is recommended to use IFHE or better rely on setting little fires everywhere?

Why I didn't get into the game.

Protip: if you spot a ship that does peek-a-boo behind an island or smoke up: aim for it and press ctrl x. You can lock a certain position on map and even if it is behind an island and without locking a ship. This of course only works if the ship is not moving away fast, because the spot cannot be moved once set. However, even you locked the spot, you will fire "blind", so be prepared to have reduced accuracy.

Why I didn't get into the game.

Therefore I wrote: "or you got an lucky opportunity". That is, e.g. if a destroyer pops 10 km right before your bow cannons. Escpacially with T8+ BBs guns becoming more accurate, there is no reason to not shoot. Even with AP. However, if there is the choise deleting a broadside cruiser or shoot at a DD, I would always go for the first. I simply emphazized the fact, that most BBs are not suited to battle DDs - at least not in WoWs. There are exceptions, however ...
  19. xe_N_on

Why I didn't get into the game.

As a BB your main target are not DDs. You shot them, if there is nothing else to shoot or you got an lucky opportunity. You main targets are CA/CLs and other BBs. Cruiser (and CVs) can quite reliable hit DDs. It's a team game after all. SAP-Cruiser can infact oneshot DDs, without having the need for a citadel.

    "Just dodge"

DD Hatsuharu can't get the hang of it

Sorry, but that's true for nearly all DDs, since no amount of AA (even Halland's one) will stop a DD from beeing sunk if a competent CV player wants you send to the oceans ground. Escpacially if the DD is against an uptired CV. So, It's not really a flaw, but simply a fact. Best defense of a DD against planes is high maneuverability in combination with low air concealment and common sense. To foresee the flight path maybe a study of psychology in combination with astrology might offer an additional advantage.

DD Shinonome - WAHT THE HELL ? !

The Shinonome is quite good, but suffers as all T6 DDs by it's only average concealment compared to T8 ships with stealth module. When facing ships like Kagero and Lightning, you really have a problem, because these higher tier ships out spot you by a wide margin. However, the bad concealment problem is not limited to the Shinonome , but also concern to alot of other T6 and T7 DDs (e.g. Farragut). As said before, Shino has quite good but short ranged and slow guns. I play it as a hybrid gun/torp-DD. By the way AA is meaningless for a DD. It doenst protect you from beeing attacked. Good CV player even can attack Halland and sink it.

Sniper divisions fair play or match rigging ?

If I would be on your team, I would had give the Musashis Karma for that action. Sadly, such divisions are too rare :-( Should happen every match.
