Grade bei den japanischen Schiffen würde ich aus historischen Aspektpunkten zu anderen Fähigkeiten tendieren als Radar. Die Japaner hinkten bei der Radar-Technik eher hinterher, auch beim Einsatz von Radar für automatische Feuerleitsysteme. Historische Werte sollten zwar nie gegen Spielbalance-Gründe stehen, aber es gibt andere Möglichkeiten japanische Kreuzer zu balancen. Gibt außerdem m. E. sowieso schon genug Radar-Schiffe, die Zerstörer effektiv daran behindern, ihrer eigentlichen Aufgabe nachgehen. -

Aside from games, image a hobby musician, e.g. a violinist or a pianist. Becoming better at playing an instrument mean hard and boring training lessons (I play piano, btw.). However, this musician is not interested in becoming better, because he/she have fun simply playing the instrument without any skill creating some sort of "noise". This is fine, as long as the musician play alone. But imagine this musician part of a hobby orchestra. While all other musicians in the orchestra train hard to play a piece together, this particular musician does not and simply disrupt the play of his fellow musician. One musician has fun. All other have not. How long do you think other musicians would tolerate such a person? In WoWs you unfortunately have no choice. In a competitive pvp team game you should bring your self in to win. If you can't, you should have enough empathy for other player to stay at solo or at least PvE. This don't mean, you need to be a unicum ... but you should give your best. -

Using HE with Daring or Jutland against Gearing won't just working well, because Gearing has 21 mm armor mid ship broadside, which Jutland or Daring cannot penetrate with HE (19 mm unless it runs IFHE, which would be just wasted points). Nevertheless, I was curious and tested my Jutland broadside with AP against Shima at ranges from 7 to 2 km. You are right about, that you get overpens, but this is apparently because of hitting the superstructure or the thin bow section. You get even full pens on a Shima main hull and stern section if you at 2 km. So, the conclusion would be to use AP at very low ranges < 4 maybe 5 km, because the trajectories are still flat and spread still low, so you can avoid hitting super structure or bow. At higher ranges it becomes more difficult because of the trajectories and spread to reliable hit the hull and you will start to get overpens at the superstructure and should switch to HE even if the target DD shows broad side. This is however quite a sad conclusion because Jutland only has an average HE DPS and is utterly outgunned by Kitakaze, Östergotland and even Fletcher, not even mention T9 premiums like Black, Friesland or T10 DDs, which you will see regularly.

DPS of the Jutland s ok, but not amazing. Half of the T9 DDs have better HE DPS. Daring DPS is much better though.

First thing to learn in a Jutland is to switch from HE to AP on regular basis, which is unusual for DDs. Jutland only has a mediocre HE DPS. To compete in DD knife fights you need to switch to AP. Jutland have improved AP angles, mean that bouncing starts at slightly higher angles as usual. It also features short fuse AP, so you will almost never overpen. T9 has some strong gun boats which you should not engage with out support or without clear advantage. Don't run IFHE on Jutland.

WG setzt auch alles daran, dass man ins mittlere bis höhere Tier gezwungen wird. Ich hätte auch mal wieder Lust in T2-4 zu spielen. Aber Kommander-XP kann man knicken und tägliche Aufträge auch nicht erfüllen. Eigentlich leider verschenkte Tier-Stufen -
Yeah, lets introduce realism and start with: - Reduce ship size to resemble real life scale (currently ships models are much larger scaled than they should) - Introduce real acceleration values of batteships (typically 30 - 60 mins for 30K displacement to reach full speed) ... and of course real de-acceleration values - Make battleships cost 20 times more than a average DD (Iowa class: > 100M $, Fletcher class 6M $) and I don't know how much higher in maintenance costs - Make firing guns realistic: introduction of range finders, fire control systems and so on to actually hit targets at ranges that you can barely see by eye - of course pememant destroyable by gun fire or air craft attacks. Good luck in hitting anything if your fire control is gone - Realistic torpedo spotting system - influence of waves to accuracy of guns Sounds good to me ... and perfectly fits in an arcade style game ...

As 100 times discussed WR cannot be used to equalizing teams. But there are other stats, as game played, average damage, average experience or PR that could be used. Of course, non of them can measure the player skill with 100% accuracy. And you have to introduce some kind of dynamic league levels like in ranked, because a unicum player will perform worse over time if matched with other unicum players. But everything is better than having random matchmaking as currently. Lets consider a European soccer league that randomly mix players ranging from parents, that occasionally play soccer with their kids, together with pro league soccer player and call this "match making". Would be a success, wouldn't it? -
The reason behind: new and inexperienced (DD) player are often attracted to torpedo boats. Cruising undetected and firing ninja torpedoes seem to be a good winning strategy. While it is quite easy to play a torpedo boat successful on lower tiers, in higher tiers it will become much more difficult. To master an torpedo focused DD in the high tier will need a good bunch of experience and skill. I have met players in matches, who however where unicums in Kagero. Not much, but a few. So it is possible to perform well in Kagero, but I find it much harder than in hybrid or gun based DDs. Key skill is to make your torpedo hit often. And that's not that easy with all that hydro and 30 kn / spot turning battleships. In coop however, you should almost yolo-torping bots without problems. Just be sure that your team kills the enemy destroyer first. Just did a coop match in a Shiratsuyu, which is basically the tier 7 kagero. Basic strategy: rush in behind with some other ships, so bots don't target you. yolo torp them.

Ok, lets validate your theory. BBs have the highest hit point pool of all ships. After your theory, DDs should have the highest average damage of all ship classes, because they sink BBs with torpedo spam all along. Lets check the facts: http://maplesyrup.sweet.coocan.jp/wows/ranking/20210403/eu_2month/average_class.html For the last two month: Class - average damage (EU-Server) High tier: BB - 68384 DD - 38951 Low tier: BB - 39302 DD - 22132 So DDs deal apparently roughly about half of the average damage of BBs in both tier sections. In fact, DDs deal the least amount of damage of ALL classes. In fact, according to that number, DDs should be seriously buffed, because their main task is to counter BBs. This main task would require them to score huge damage numbers, which they apparently don't do. So, lets talk about buffing DD damage ...

I anything the problem is that the matchmaker is not rigged. But it should. It should at least try to match equally strong teams together, especially in regards of divisions, to minimize landslide victories / losses. That is not that difficult according to the stats already monitored. -

As DD player you should be used to get flamed. Many BB and cruiser players are clueless about DD play and expect you to be their spotting minion throwing your self into kobayashi maru situations, while they are hiding behind Islands on F line. I get even called noob and bad by players that have much worse stats than me. Sometimes I get even shot by my own team. So just ignore it. If you want to improve your gameplay, I would recommend watching YouTube streams but don't listen to some "smart" advices given from players in-game during a match. -

Ich hab nicht geschrieben, dass es larifari ist, sondern das es langweilig ist. Immer das selbe Schema, null Nervenkitzel, da fast null Risiko. Ich hab nicht geschrieben, dass man beim CV spielen sein Gehirn abschalten kann. Mich nervt auch die ständige Wiederholung beim Anfliegen von Zielen. Wie, also würde man einen Marschflugkörper spielen. -

Welche PR ist denn gemeint? Die Account-PR? Die Klassen-PR? Die Schiffs-PR? Hohe PR erreicht man mitunter auch durch hohen Schaden erfarmen. Bestimmt haben die ganzen Dead-Eye BB Thunderer auf der F-Linie auch eine hohe PR :D Hoher Schaden bedeutet meist BBs farmen. Genau das ist eher zweitrangig, sowohl beim DD als auch beim CV. Abgesehen davon, bei den wenigen Matches mit CVs kann man da wirklich noch keine langfristigen Rückschlüsse ziehen ... -

Das langweilige ist, dass man im Prinzip null Risiko hat (außer halt eine Staffel zu verlieren) und das eigene Spiel bzw. die eigene Taktik so gut wie überhaupt nicht von der Reaktion oder Position der Gegner abhängt: 1. Wähle ein Ziel auf der Minimap, das möglichst hohe Priorität hat (DDs, Radarschiffe, high DPS Schiffe oder Ziele mit niedrigen HP), möglichst wenig Flugzeit beansprucht und optimaler Weise noch außerhalb der AA anderer Schiffe steht. 2. Schicke einen Teil der Staffel zurück zum Träger und fliege das Ziel an. 3. Weiche der Flak aus (ziemlich einfach wenn man mal verstanden hat, wie es funktioniert). 4. Greife das Ziel an (hierbei wird noch am meisten Skill gebraucht). 5. Ziehe die Staffel zurück. 6. Repeat. Zu Matchbeginn gibt es noch eine Rundflug zur Aufklärung und ab und an kann es erforderlich sein den Träger zu bewegen, entweder an eine Insel oder näher an die Feinde. -

Halte es trotz hoher winrate nicht lange aus, wie ich merke. CV ist einfach zu boring. Wobei lustig ist das schon eine Halland (Ein sogenanntes AA-Schiff) mit HE divebombern zu detonieren. -
To a certain point, yes. But you can't carry as DD if the enemy DDs are of equal skill and have support while your BBs hiding behind Islands. In addition, I had some games recently, where I really thought about if there is any sense in spotting or capping. Because 2/3 of my team mates could not even break half of the average damage than me in my Jutland (and I usually don't focus on farming damage in matches).

If planes find you, you had either bad luck and/or a unicum CV player or you did something wrong. In CV games playing DDs I rarely need to use smoke to cover from airplanes. I would suggest having RPF as torpedo boat, because it helps alot evading other enemy DDs.

Since Kagero can play almost undetected during the whole match, CVs are less an issue. CVs are going to hunt DDs if they know where they are, otherwise it is a waste of time.
