    Actually, I thought the article started out very good: - They said that at the lower leagues there was a lot of different ships being used, which is what WG wanted - They also said that at the top leagues things fell apart and that things need to be changed That sums up season 9 pretty well I would guess. The rest of the article (possible fixed + season 10 at T6): people have opinions about that, but the first part of the dev blog: spot on in my opinion.

    T6 BB's pushing a flank? That would require you to increase the game time from 20 minutes to 60 minutes. Starting in the center and the moving to a flank at 21 knots... just getting to a flank will take 20 minutes?

  4. While I expect this is true, it is not made very clear in the article: It says "the first 8 phases". @MrConway@Crysantos: Could you clarify this? If you buy the starter pack, you only need to complete 12 shipbuilding phases (4 directives, according to the article) to get the Odin?

  6. If you don't use money you get - Graf Spee - 7,500 coal - 4 days premium time - 15 cammo's - 10.000 free xp - 20 special signals - 5 containers Sounds pretty good to me? And they do need money to keep the servers running, WG is not a charity.

This looks good so far: - Prices are very clear up front, very clear what you need to spent to get Odin. - Good communication about the stages and the rewards - 3 weeks to complete the last directive, giving you some extra time in case you missed 1 or 2 weeks somewhere due to holidays. It still depends on how insane the directives are, but so far: very well writen artice! You learned from the PR feedback.
  8. @MrConway@Crysantos When it was announced that legendary modules where moved to the Research Bureau, you also said that you would remember those without acces to the Research Bureau. So far, I heard or seen nothing about that. So, easy solution: put them in the premium store please, so I can just buy them. Thanks!

  10. Ok, let me rephrase it: players with less then 5 TX lines had acces to getting LU when getting new TX ship. This is no longer the case. Players with less then 5 lines complete can no longer get LU. This is a change that I think is bad (mostly because I am one of those players with less then 5 TX lines). And yes, I do know that the LU are supposed to be sidegrades, but some are very usefull (and some are not). As for the RB being for long term players: sure! Go ahead, put stuff like the Ohio in it, that is fine with me. I am fully aware that I will never get the Ohio/Colbert/other RB ships and that is fine. But I do no agree that the LU's should be there behind a "get 5 TX lines" wall. And WG did say when they announced that the LU were moving to the RB that they would look into the fact that players who do not have the RB unlocked would get some way to get LU's. So since I have not heard anything about that so far, I'm giving them an idea on how to solve it (while earning them money and not ruining the skill lvl at high tiers).
  11. @Crysantos Are these improvements aimed at people not having acces to the Research Bureau yet? Because you took the legendary modules away from us. We could get them before and now we no longer have acces to them. This depends on your starting situation: do you have 5 TX lines or not. Because right now a new player reaching his first TX ship, has to grind 5 more lines (4 to unlock the RB, then 1 more as a reset) to get the first legendary module. I rather get 40k base xp on that first ship, much easier. I don't mind the idea of resetting a line and using free xp to get some quick RB points. But I do think it is a horrible idea to suggest to people that they should free xp some random lines to unlock the Research Bureau. We have enough people at the high tiers with no clue how to play their ship. I did get the legendary missions (and completed them) for my first 2 TX ships. But I can not get a legendary module for my third ship. This is plain wrong. I do not see an option to buy special signals. I can only buy the normal economic signals. Where can you buy the special signals?
  12. Just want to point out: I did grind out the legendary modules on my first 2 lines. And I would not mind doing the old style missions for my next ship. Because that made sense: You want the legendary module for the Gearing? The play the Gearing... a lot. And that is what I did. As a casual player. No problem.
  13. So you want me to free xp 2 more lines to unlock TX ships from lines that I have never played? I don't think that is what this game needs, more people at top tiers with ships they have no clue how to play. I prefer to grind my lines slowly so I can learn the ships.

I'm playing this game through steam and I can not figure out how to get the replay to work. 1: I go to the replay map 2: I select a replay and click it with the right mouse button 3: in the list of programs I can open it with, I select... This is where I get lost. I got to the WoW folder, then to "bin" Here I select the folder "1631917" (no clue how these folder name are created). I then go to "bin64" Here I select "WorldOfWarships64" to open the replay. This will open the game, it goes to a loading screen saying "Synchronizing".... and that is all it does. It never starts the game. Things I have tried: - Try a different folder in "bin": game does not load or shows a crash message - Rename "steam_api64.dll" (tip I found somewhere): game does not open, it shows a crash message. I'm at a loss on how to get this working...

    0.9.4 - General Feedback

    @YabbaCoe @Chrysanthos Enterprise sounds are bugged atm. If you get hit by enterprise rockets, it plays an incredible loud sound. The same goes for torpedoes hitting the water when dropped from a plane: way too loud!

    @Tanatoy There is an "or" there: - Players who currently have Moskva researched: that means you have the Moskva researched right now, at this moment (and possibly have bought the ship, but that does not matter) - Players who ever had Moskva researched: this means that if you have the Moskva researched in the past but you have now reset the line, it still counts. So the big question is: if you had the Moskva researched in the past, but you have currently reset the line (and currently not researched the Moskva): do you get the special Moskva?

    Give Karma an actual purpose

    I see a problem with this: In a recent game I torped some smoke in my DD and catched 2 enemy DD's in them: dev strike, first blood, double strike, 3 minutes into the game. Oh, and 2 reports. If playing good / getting lucky (did not expect to catch a 2nd dd in that smoke) means I get reported and I loose karma, then I'm not sure if there should be benefits to karma. On the other hand: giving a benefit to karma would effectively remove CV's from the game, since playing those is a guaranteed loss in karma it seems?

    Hawking captain build?

    I just got the hawking and I'm wondering a bit about the captain build: 1: PT 2: I guess either AR or LS? Since the guns seem to turn decent so you do not need EM? 3: Survivial expert! Just kidding, DE ofcourse 4: CE After that: AR / LS (whatever I did not take first) IFHE? And... ? The idea is to have the captain move up in the line next patch, so it is a build for Hawkings + the rest of the line.

    Thank you WG for allowing me to get some nice premium ships. Also, please ignore the old grandpa's complaining that "back in the old days...". Although, I do have to say, you guys sound hilarious. Everybody who was not there 4 years ago gets a chance to get these ships (very nice) and all you can do is complain "I already have these ships" How entitled are you people? Oh no, an event where you do not get new ships but all the new people do... how horrible for you old people. Did you expect that the playerbase would stay the same for 4 years? Some people leave, some people join. In 4 years, yeah, that means a lot of new players who do not have the ARP ships.

    A small psychological insight for you WG

    I think people need to rethink their mindset. For me this event is about getting easy tokens that reward me with coal, cammo's and flags. And you know what I'm getting: I'm playing some games, have some fun and as a bonus: I get some bundles with coal, cammo's and flags. I'm perfectly happy with this event. The directives are easy and I get some rewards for it! And who knows, maybe I get lucky and get a ship, but if not, I'm planning to grind them next patch anyway, since they seem like fun. You and many other people in this thread see this event as a way to get ships. And it seems to me you people are not having fun and you are angry. You can decide which mindset you like best. But I'll stick to mine: have fun, receive some free stuff, be happy!

    Actually, karma does 1 thing (and that is the reason I do kinda care about my karma): With higher karma you get more compliments per day! And since I run out of compliments every day, I really would like to get myself more karma, so I can compliment more people.
  23. I have a question about captain xp calculations. But to start off, this is the assumption I have about xp, please let me know if I got this wrong: Assumption: As far as I know, this is how xp interacts with eachother: Base xp: this is based on your ingame performance (damage, capping,etc), nothing else Ship xp: the "normal" xp you use to unlock ships: this is base xp * xp modifiers Captain xp: this is ship xp * captain xp modifiers The question: Do normal xp modifiers have the same effect as captain xp modifiers when it comes to calculating captain xp? For example: Let's take 2 cammo's: Cammo 1 gives + 200% xp Cammo 2 gives + 100% xp and +100% captain xp When it comes to ship xp, cammo 1 gives more xp then cammo 2. Simple. But when it comes to captain xp, do cammo 1 and cammo 2 give the same amount of captain xp?

    The Beginning is a Very Delicate Time

    If I were a new player today and I would have had some fun in the game in T1 and T2, shooting at ships, sailing happily around. And then you go to T3 and you get 10 matches where you get bombed every match, you never even see the opposing enemy surface ships and your AA is doing nothing at the places (asuming you even have AA on your T3 ship). Yeah, I would leave too. T3 ships are just CV food these days. I'm very happy that I have the free XP to skip T3 and T4.
