People progressing through a shipline get a captain at the start (T1/2/3 depending on cr/dd/bb) and transfer that captain to the next ship when they go up a tier. If you do this you should get your captain to 10 points around tier 5 or 6. Note: this is just general info, I have no idea what lvl captain you have for your T7 battleships. Also, in case you don't know, you can put a captain on a premium ship without the need to retrain him. Since you have both the KBV and the DoY, you can take 1 captain and use him for both ships. This allows you to get extra captain exp because you can get the daily win bonus (+50%) on both ships with the same captain. You can also use the DoY to retrain your captain if you put him on a new ship, since on a premium ship all the captain skills work fully, even while retraining. Disclaimer: I'm not familiar with (british) battleships, so I'm not sure if the captain build for the KGV and the DoY are the same, I'm assuming they are.

No, that is not what I ment. I'm not saying you should only shoot the other T7 in a T9 game. I'm saying you should be more effective then the other T7 in that T9 game. As a battleship: deal more damage then your red T7... on whatever ship needs shooting: T9, T8 or T7. As a DD: spot more, cap more, etc. Edit: also, you are most effective being alive. So as a bottom tier: play a bit more carefull then normal. I find it amazing when I see a bottom tier cruiser charging ahead of the team. They do not live long.

Not a pro player here, but this is how I see it: If I'm a T7 in a T9 game... there is also a T7 in the enemy team. And I do not need to do better then all those T9's. I just need to do better then the T7 in the enemy team. So, don't set the bar too high. Your team will also not expect you to kill half the enemy team while you are bottom tier (ofcourse, if you do sink half the enemy team... )

I guess you do not play random, because there are not too many cruisers or DD's around...

You still get 1 point for winning in co-op This is correct, you have to track the points yourself. The containers are not given the moment you reach 10 points (I guess they are given at the end of the event), so you have to really make sure you get those 10 points.

And that is for JP. For USA it is even more simple: spent 15 minutes in a random game to gain maybe 2 points or spent 5 minutes in co-op for 1 point....

You get 1 point for a win. So spamming co-op is still a fast way to gain points. Spent 15 minutes in a random game to gain maybe 3 points (2 for 1250 base xp, 1 for win) or spent 5 minutes in co-op for 1 point

Also, if you get in a no-cv game, you can use your fighter to spot ships over islands. It is limited in range, but still, very useful sometimes.

Sadly, in my experience, you might as well be alone in random's. I notice a DD is coming for our base cap, so... I report in chat that there is a DD coming: nobody cares. I ping where I know the DD is: nobody cares. I ask the 2 CV's to spot the DD in our cap: they ignore me. So I expect to have to deal with everything on my own. This means my team can not dissapoint me, only cheer me up when they actualy do help me

The problem I see with your entire assumption about using secondaries to kill DD's is: how do you spot them? I know you like secondaries to kill DD's with your CV's, but your CV has planes to scout and detect that DD. But your BB does not have that. So yeah, if you invite me into the training room in my DD (say a shima) I would simply stay 6 km away of you and just fire torps. Maybe you dodge them, maybe you don't, but you will never spot me and you will never use those secondaries on my DD.

I'm asking this because I'm not sure about CV's. They have armoured decks? Only the higher tiers? I got a citadel hit on an enemy Kremlin. And I'm wondering how this was possible, because: I was in a Charles Martel (203 mm guns) At a longer range Shooting HE (and my captain does not have IFHE) According to the game, my HE shells can penetrate 33 mm of armor. The Gremlin has 60 mm deck armor and 150 mm citadel top armor. So... how is this possible? Did I fire a HE shell down a chimney?

Yesterday I played a battle in my Charles Martel and at the end somebody asked in general chat to report me for throwing the game. I translate this as "You did something wrong and should have done something better, but I'm not telling you what you did wrong". Which I find not very usefull. So here is my question: what did I do wrong and made it look like I "threw the game"? And also: any other tips about how to improve my play? I know I play a bit scared, but that is because I am scared of T10 and T9 BB's in my T8 CR. Extra info: The person who said that, seemed like a good player and ended up first in our team, so I guess he is right that I made some mistake. The Charles Martel is my first T8 cruiser and my 2nd T8 ship in general. So yeah, I'm pretty new here. I have only played 6 games in my Charles Martel, 5 of them losses, so it is still completely stock. No, like I said in the first post, it was stock during that match. However, I did have more games yesterday, unlocked both the B-hull (thank god for that rudder shift improvement) and the range upgrade. Now working on the gun upgrade. I also did switch to premium consumables (at least for DCP, speed and reload). The games yesterday went better, but it is a work in progress. Again, thank you all for the tips, I will try to improve as much as I can.

2 tips: 1: Watch video's that explain stuff. Flamu and Flambass usualy do not explain why or what they are doing, they just show good/funny games. I myself like iChaseGaming video's a lot. Mostly about DD's, but he pauses the game to explain why he is doing stuff and points out stuff on the minimap that are important. Very helpfull. 2: When you die, investigate your own dead. Why where you at that spot? Should you have been there? Who was shooting you? Etc, etc. At the start, I was amazed how often my answer to "Why was I at that spot?" was: "uhhh... no clue?". I learned from that

Sadly, I can't seem to watch my own replays (steam version + replay = bad combo somehow). But if I remember correctly, I only turned away from the Rebublic after I lost most my hp from that russian BB salvo. At that point I tried to run, but failed. But like I said, this is from memory, I might remember it wrongly. Played another game in my Charles Martel, lost again.
