Seems like they need more and more time after each PTS. Makes you question if it's worth the time or not. At least if you knew in advance how much you'd wait, you could make a decision but keeping you waiting it's quite unacceptable if you ask me.

Puerto Rico event is a reward for people with health issues
Afghanicus posted a topic in General Discussion
Another PR disaster, this time from a General Manager over the Russian forum? Original comment on the RU forum... https://forum.worldofwarships.ru/topic/135458-извинения-за-неправильную-подачу-деталей-о-постройке-корабля-puerto-rico/?page=58&tab=comments#comment-5891424 Isn't this another spit in the face of the whole playerbase? Event for people with health issues? REALLY? And especially ending it with: "So, the degree of whining won't affect this marathon (grind). For sure." Translating into: "We don't give a crap about your sentiments or opinions. Pay up or fuk off." I do feel a bit sorry for the CMs who have to face all this rage because of people like the GM we're talking about here. Not allowed to insult here but man... that's some serious $hit right there. -
I'm starting to love these threads despite them being annoying. Loot boxes are gambling and if you buy them you accept the possibility of getting nothing useful in return. That's it. Rigged? Even if they are.. do you have control over that? Didn't think so. When you gamble you accept all odds against you and you should be fine with the fact that the money you put on gamble is lost money. You can go to the nearest casino, put money or the same (or any) number 60 times and let me know how many times you won. THERE IS NO GUARANTEED PRIZE when it comes to gambling. Period.

Well, the support claims that the issue is probably with my connection and everything is fine with their servers. Seems like all these players are imagining things and the support guys know the best. Terrible customer support.
-
This is the most bugged update I've seen so far. I don't remember seeing this many bugs, server instabilities and disconnections even on the PTSs. Is this intentional to make the grind even harder? Like it's not impossible already?

Shipbuilding collection is also insanely hard and not even mathematically guaranteed.
Afghanicus replied to DanSilverwing's topic in Archive
I thought we're talking about the shipbuilding collection here. I believe there are more than enough threads about the PR fiasco. -
I'm not gonna argue with that assuming you know what you're talking about. I definitely have no idea what's easier in terms of coding/testing... Just saying what seems like an easier fix to me. If it's easier to do it with points... fine. But there should be a bigger difference tho. Adding 100 points to the bots wouldn't alter it drastically. That's like additionally sinking a cruiser and a BB but more often than not, you have even more ships alive at the end of the battle.
-
Will do the same now then... and invite everyone else to do it. It's a shame they don't offer compensation to everyone affected but instead you have to claim it yourself. Guess what... just had my 1st battle of the day... 10 seconds into the match... DISCONNECTED. By the time I got back in, the battle was almost over.
-
And changing the starting points is easier than removing the "mercy rule" because... ?
-
You claimed compensation via the ticket system? And you got a SC for the troubles?
-
As I said before - absolutely nothing against you personally but I'm sure that you're aware that you guys (CMs) are the ones to put up a face to all this rage. You know you signed up for that and that all thios $hitstorm is the least you can expect, thanks to the stupid decisions of your superiors. Most people don't work 24/7 but when there are special circumstances, they are requested to show up on weekends as well. I consider this to be a special bull$hit created by WG. However, seems like WG does expect players to be grinding through weekends as well (besides all working days) because otherwise there is no "free Puerto Rico". A bit hypocritical, isn't it? Saying "we're keeping a very close eye on the situation" is also a very poor response IMHO. It's like saying "we are seeing all the deserved hate and $hitstorm we created and we're waiting to settle down and continue as usual" Seems like noneof you can see the obvious, unfortunately. I know that you cannot publicly say how badly WG messed up but at least don't treat us like suckers. Thank you.
-
I'll drop this idea (which I mentioned more than once in order threads but has been completely ignored so far) here as well... REMOVE THE "MERCY RULE" IN CO-OP BATTLES. That will fix most of the issues people have in co-op battles. Thank you.

weekly mission: battle of the river plate. Not giving the final captain xp reward
Afghanicus replied to Jvd2000's topic in General Discussion
CAPS LOCKS hurt. No need for that. You need to be in a division, read the description WG provides. Don't bump threads that are 2 years old. Have a nice day. -
Seems like there is no effect of tagging any of WG staff anymore. It's Monday and even tho they have been tagged hundreds of times over the weekend, there is no sign of them. Not sure if it's by choice or by orders of certain "people" (can't insult them here, can I?) like the General Manager on the RU forum and other "people" in charge at WG.
-
If they add it I hope it's only audible to the person using it, not the others. The most annoying horn, ever. I have enough of them while opening the Santa boxes, I'm not 4 years old.

[PSA] An apology for poor event presentation and a bit of spreadsheet
Afghanicus replied to Sehales's topic in News & Announcements
Isn't it Monday? Extended weekend in mother Russia? Still total silence from WG? Well, I guess that tells you they have it all under control. Just let the $hitstorm settle, throw a few bonus codes that give you few crappy camos or flags and hope for the best. -
Seems like some people here don't even know what bots are. Getting into the game (co-op battle) yourself and leaving the ship AFK while you do something else, just to knock off a snowflake has nothing to do with bots. It's just you easy/lazy/don't_give_a_$hit way of getting that coal/steel/boxes. In those cases you will get miserable rewards (XP/baseXP/whatever) but you don't care about that. You did it for the snowflake reward, not for anything else. When we talk about bots, we talk about AI driven ships, similar to the ones you play against when in co-op battle. Such bots can earn a decent amount of XP/baseXP/whatever. Maybe not as much as human players ("maybe" because sometimes the bots get more than many human players) but definitely enough to be worth (ab)using them. I have no clue where people get them and how they work exactly but during the mentioned event (cash prizes for recruiters) we've seen how they work. Sometimes, you're just 100% sure it's a bot and if you're in co-op... you're surprised that it doesn't have the 2 dots before and after the :name:. They early timing of using their consumables, the way they sail (like they want to go left and right at the same time), the way they can stuck and cannot find a way and my favorite - DDs popping up a smoke the moment they are detected and then rushing through it, leaving the whole smoke cloud behind them. (there are other signs but just to name a few)... That's called using a bot and it's obviously against the rules since it gives players a significant advantage where they are grinding the directives without the player doing anything at all (except maybe paying for the bots itself which is probably worth it for them). I'll be paying more attention to them as I expect the number to rise as directives become more and more grindy.

Dockyard progress for super-casuals. What freebies can you get without Directives?
Afghanicus replied to DanSilverwing's topic in Archive
I got the free booster and it's wonderful. I'll get a few free ones and that's it. 6k doubloons for a single booster? I don't think so. (I don't have that amount of doubloons and I wouldn't pay for it, especially now supporting this WG insanity) -
It's also easier to stay under the radar on co-op... In Random battles people are more vigilant, they check other players' stats, report them etc. In co-op it's usually YOLO, click click click, play again. Most of the times you don't even know who your team mates are.
-
Since they can run 24/7... I guess so. Depend on how well the bots is 'designed' as well but I guess it's possible. Definitely (much) easier than grinding the directives by yourself. Especially those starting from the 3rd or 4th one...

Afghanicus replied to Sehales's topic in News & Announcements
They were messing with the Dockyard and I have no idea what is it in the end and what they did. Wondering if even they know... Last night, I was not even able to access it for few hours... And today I had multiple disconnections due to server problems... I think they are in 'CRISIS MODE' for sure... With no idea what to do.. Probably just trying not to mess things up any further, like that's even possible. I'm so glad I don't give a $hit about the event. If I was going for a grind and had so many problems with the server and playing the game at all, I'd be pissed for sure. -
Use this thread for that, it will be easier for them to see how badly they messed up with this update (besides the whole PR BS)

The reward for the whole collection is a single Mega container and since I love WG's loot boxes so much.. I don't even care. Most probably I won't be able to complete the collection. I'll be fine with getting a few premium days and that's it. -

Afghanicus replied to DanSilverwing's topic in Archive
I will have to check/calculate what do I get for not giving a $hit about PR and just play casually. I estimate that I will finish the 1st and 2nd directive for sure and might even go for the 3rd one. As for the rewards... they are all nice when they are free, in my opinion not worth any purchase of boosters for doubloons though.
