But CV's? Oh boy get your popcorns ready an enjoy the salty tears.

More and more I don't see after battle results presented when the battle ends - do you guys also see this happening?

"Its not a bug - its a feature" (Have had this for several months, it comes and goes. Sometimes sessions without it, other times almost every battle) -
To the extend I play MN BB's JB will do for the time being. But I'll take note of the inputs.

So another resource topic thread. TL;DR Using the steel for cruiser or not? If so, why? Why not? Been on board the WoWs-train(wreck) for the better part of three years now and afaik the game is not heading anywhere pleasant with the current trajectory. For a variety of reasons I don't see myself playing the game quite as much foreseeable future and having just blown RB-points to get my fat fingers on the Vampire II (a boat I'm growing more fond of each time I play it btw) I'm currently exploring if I'm to spend my steel - or not. I'm as stated in other threads turned in to a DD-main but also enjoying the occasional cruiser game. BB's and CV's are not really my poison anymore. This leaves me with 3 potential purchases: - "Balansgrad"? I have Moskva & Kronshtadt (and Nevsky+Petro) So are this gonna give me something extra? Our clan are currently not playing clan-battels only brawls. Playing against it, It always appears to be on fire.... - Austin? I have Salem (and Wooster+DM) I've used Salem as a cash-grinder and DM for ALOT of ranked with ok success. Again facing off against it seems fairly squishy, so there's that..... - Plymouth? No premiums here (but Mino+Goliath) The latter being a proud port-queen, but Mino holds a special place in my heart. Either with radar or smoke. But again; are Plymouth adding anything substantial here? Could steel be worth saving instead? There hasn't been any steel DD's since Somers (if memory serves me well) so perhaps better just to leave it in the bank, even though It might just end up sitting there. To reiterate; FDR, Shikishima & Bourgogne I'm not even gonna consider. Thoughts and insights are welcome.

This makes a lot of sense. And for my part since I'm not in a clan-battle playing clan (yet/ever) AND I also tend to dislike playing stationary or at least being the agile DD-player I'll definitely take such a perspective into consideration.

See this is interesting! I have a bunch of ships that I find "boring" (this could come down to playstyle, mechanics, utilities, etc.) so if you would why do you find Stalingrad boring? Running through my own fleet Siegfried is probably the somewhat closest playstyle-wise to Stalingrad. And the cruiser 2nd-nerf really was a killjoy for my part i.e. now I tend to find that ship to some extend "boring"
-
Fwiw my JB is moonlighting as a Bourgogne atm. I know they are not the same, but they are somewhat close. So far I'm leaning towards holding my horses but IF I were to pick amongst the three aforementioned cruisers I'd probably be the Plymouth. I like the "It's a Belfast at tX"-statement, plus I'd give me a RN premium tX cruiser. I'm fully aware that should I begin playing competitive i.e. Clan-battels Balansgrad is almost a must-have. Austin sure looks fun but seems to be way too situational for my taste.

0.10.7 Public Test 0.10.7 - Submarines in Ranked Battles
ZeuSueZ1337 replied to YabbaCoe's topic in Archive
1/2 This is the review based upon the first PT-session with access to both t6, t8 & tX subs. Lets sum up the positive at first: - The underwater-world is looking stellar. - The selected BB's with ASW actually seems to be a deterrent, but I still dont understand why not all BB's are getting em'? - The DD and light cruiser depth charges seems to still work, albeit a bit less effective in terms of damage than in previous tests (by design?) - The CV's also have a fair chance to both spot and hurt the subs with their bombs or rockets. - The ability to hit surfaced subs with guns seems plentiful but still tricky so on the looks of it, balanced. Now lets look at the less positive things: - Damage from the sub torps, are you kiddin' me? It seems that they were using Swedish fish. Had several hits on BB's that survived 4 sub-torps. This seems odd to say the least. - The reload time of torps seems way to fast. Basically you can "torp-spam" and that should be the case imho. - DD's should be able to fairly accurate determine the position of a sub using hydro (or add an extra consumable and call it sonar) DD's are the primary sub-hunter but currently they are not that impressive. - Heavy cruisers without any sub-counter seems very unbalanced. Maybe just equip them with a one-use only depth charge or airstrike like that on a BB? Heavy cruisers are gonna be badly outplayed. And finally the big one - CV's auto-DRC makes it almost impossible to "torp-snipe" em'. That shouldn't be the case. Now, we know you hold CV's to a lower standard, but all I'm asking is that the auto-DRC for instance only cancels the homing feature for the first say 2 or 3 times, thus making it viable for a sub to target the CV if they really want to. Again I know that this will force CV players to actually maintain situational awareness and move(!) their floating airfield to a safer location, instead of just point-and-click and be done with it. But this could overall improve the game in that the CV just doesn't sit in the back levelling the entire fleet of surface ships. 2/2 will follow after next PT-session. -
Sorry, but you're either not in the loop information-wise or you have been instructed to give not fully accurate information. I don't quite know what is worst. Having played the required battels on the PT-server to both get into the tX subs and unlock the naval community tokens and reach rank 1 in gold tier, I have seen a total of ZERO non-tech tree ships (Null, 0, Nada) I at least want to try to keep my faith in the community staff, sooooo......I'll rephrase my question from earlier slightly, and crossing my fingers for a legit answer: - Are the PT-server we're all currently running on naked-accounts with only tech-tree ships? Again; I haven't seen any non-tech tree ships in the battels. - If so; will our respective main accounts be cloned in future PT-tests? Or do we have to spec ships, captains etc. each and every time?

No pix - but 1500 stalinum-steel. спаси́бо. -
Thanks Yabba. That makes sense. Was mostly wondering IF I had to respec ships/captains etc for each PT-session. Just hoping it's a clone once the 0.10.8 test arrives.
-
This might not be the correct place to ask, but weren't we supposed to get a copy of our main account (mainly ships and captains) after the change to the PT-server login? I played the 0.10.6 update and were under the impression that returning after one stint with a "naked" account I'd get a copy of my main account onto the PT-server thus having access to my premium boats, not having to configure ship, assigning captain skills each time around? If so, this is most certainly one of the last time I'm gonna spend time on the PT-servers.....

One can only hope they in fact don't(!) have a job thus not annoying the general public...... And if they do in fact have a job on hand its something like sorting sand. Blindfolded. With their toes. Whilst being slowly stung be bees. (or something like that)

The return and economic nerf of Missouri.
ZeuSueZ1337 replied to Miscommunication_dept's topic in General Discussion
Sooo.....participating (and completing the tasks?) in 4+ PT-updates during the autumn and one can get Mighty Mo with the use of a doubloon coupon? I'll take it. (but the fuss concerning the reduced credit mechanics I cannot be bothered bout' -- why dont just add it like a "black"-version and keep the original version intact? Seems pretty weird, even from a WG-perspective, that it's THAT important to reduce a minority of Missouri owners ability to grind....credits) -
Finally an explanation why flags from achievements were removed

What a pile of horse manure WG. "Players throwing their ships away" Get a bloody grip will ya, well - it's been fun, but there's a time and a place for everything..... -
How is your "Community Tokens" gathering and how will you be spending them on?
ZeuSueZ1337 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Tbh - I did consider this. So as it turns out I might end up being a gigantic tin-cup for mentioning it. On the other hand like others suggested It's feasible that WG will change the container types over time thus reducing the effective size of the aforementioned loophole. -
Not a dumb question at all - a totally just one, and my answer would be: Repetition. Play say North Carolina to get into Iowa and finally Montana. You get the feel for the somewhat slow USN shells. Or play Z23 to get into Z46 and finally Z52. You get the feel for using the superior KM hydro in combination with torps and smoke. Etc, etc. - you get the point.... The resistance you'll meet at higher tiers (i.e. t10) are usually - big IF at the current state of affairs game-wise, ikr - much, much stiffer and you need to be able to at least not be a deadweight but "do your part" depending on what big ol' boat your in, and in order to do just that you need to master the boat you're in. And the grind towards t8/t9/t10 are afaik 100% worth it with respect to mastering a specific branch of boats, how they play etc. Getting a coal t9 or t10 boat right now will give you a short lived fulfilment of the purchase (trust me, Salem, JB, Moskva I know what I'm on about xD) --- but after that is a grind to master that specific boat w.o. the prerequisite experience from the tech-tree counterpart. So returning to my previous post; grind it out - then decide. (but I fully understand if you decide to throw caution to the wind and just go for it )
-
I hate to break it to you --- but yes it shall be the issue. TL;DR: Don't rush into t10. Grind it out and get a feel for what type of ships fits into your style of play. Get at least a couple of t10 boats before you pull the trigger on a coal boat. Otherwise you're most likely gonna regret your purchase - and lack the skill to wield it properly. Given your stats - and no, I'm not stat shaming - you should consider increasing your skills rather than your equipment. All of the aforementioned ships plays from 'somewhat' to 'very' different to their tech-tree counterparts thus purchasing those now with little t9 and zero t10 experience will most likely generate some bad habits for when your eventually gets a tech-tree t9 or t10. The other way around you'll feel much more comfortable understanding, say "Fat Freddy" (KM t9) and then adding Pommeren or Des Moines and then adding Salem. Looking at your stats, played ships etc. I'll join @Matty814 in Pommeren is somewhat a safe bet. But my best advice for you is to wait like described above.

DD main: Vampire II or Druid? Or wait for something else....?
ZeuSueZ1337 posted a topic in General Discussion
Sooo......looking for some inputs as to how to spend RB-points. Over time I've to my own surprise turned into a DD main. Sure I can play both BB's and cruisers but mainly I prefer to steer the destroyer* Given the introduction of move CV's *sighs* and the prospect of upcoming subs I'm on sort of a purchase-spree to use what ever different "currency's" I have at my disposal before I leave the game for good - for this post; RB-points is the topic of interest. A little context I have Daring but doesn't play it that much. Cossack however is a an absolute favourite. Also ships in port that I play more often than not are Somers & Smaaland, as well as Yeyang, Z52, Kita, Yugu and Chung for tech tree boats. So it really boils down to if the aforementioned Vampire II or Druid are worth my points? I have ~70k and if I continue to play the game I'll "only" reset one branch every time the bonus are double so its not points that I'll replenish that easy. I have read the reviews and seen the different videos but I can't make up my mind so player inputs are welcome If the boats are worth it and if so why the one over the other? Thanks i advance. *) I'm not gonna purchase other types than DDs. Also not gonna spend it on UU/LMU -
How is your "Community Tokens" gathering and how will you be spending them on?
ZeuSueZ1337 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
For me its gonna be the t5 containers, it's for now gonna bring a steady influx of doubloons - but given its WG I cannot not see, that what I recognize as a giant size loophole will be shut firmly within the foreseeable future. WG should have no interests in us amassing loads of doubloons "just by playing the game" I could be wrong, but I doubt it.... -
Missing Community Tokens (CT) after completing PT-server combat missions
ZeuSueZ1337 posted a topic in General Discussion
Sooo......got the 30 kills on the PT-server and the combat mission is now "completed" However the 2.000 CT this should reward is nowhere to be found. Is this an error or will those first be credited once both parts of the PT-test is completed i.e. next week? The other PT-server CT has been credited to my the armory already so that's why I'm wondering this. (already asked this in a PT-thread, but unsure If enough sees this: )- 12 replies

DD main: Vampire II or Druid? Or wait for something else....?
ZeuSueZ1337 replied to ZeuSueZ1337's topic in General Discussion
Vampire II seems fun enough and quite capable albeit my lvl 12 cmd needs some training and/or elite commander xp to fulfil the potential of the "Haida 2.0" @arttuperkunas Got that as well. She's hell 'of fun but very circumstantial imho. Try her in "Grand Battels" Blap-blap-dead. 2BBs for one "dd" xD (Off topic: for the foreseeable future she's gonna fly the soccer flag in light of Gli Azzurri's victory last night) -

ZeuSueZ1337 replied to ZeuSueZ1337's topic in General Discussion
Valuable input - appreciate it guys! Ad Druid; given I already own Daring I'll leave her be for now Ad Ragnar; Smaaland - so far - is plenty Pan European DD for me. Alas Vampire II it is. (fun fact @totally_potato: Mino was my first tX boat overall and she remains a favourite light cruiser for my part) -
