Impossible play with DD after this CV rework

Then adept to the given parameters. Simple as that. Who is capable will experience almost no decrease in contribution to the outcome of the game, no reduced damage/kills/winrate/capping/spotting. Plus you get the bonus of shredding 25 planes against unexperienced CV captains. last 21 days (solo & dd only)
  2. From the perspective of normal distribution you are right. Those numbers are facts and clearly shown, but keep in mind what’s the database of that bell curve: bots, short time players only contributing while being in the learning curve, event-one-time players,... result of all that is, that being statistically good is much easier than being good in real (though my classification is subjective - I know) - same for winrate as for ratings. I wrote about my observations and classification based on it, not the other way around defining a percentage of playerbase for classification and then reading the winrate out of normal distribution. Sure, that’s more subjective, but it‘s what I consider to be decent/good/rly good/extraordinary. Is also - on purpose - didn’t wrote about overall winrate, because the only thing that matters is your „actual“ performance. Decent is above average, somewhat acceptable but not even good, though with a tendency to it. Extraodinary is what it means and not „super unicum“ which (like on wows numbers) I would rate far from extraordinary - it‘s simply too easy to achieve. Extraordinary is way less than 1% of the playerbase. But like ever said - it’s only a game and one has to adjust expectations to facts out of selfreflection to make sure there is some fun - because we play to have fun (in certain ways). good luck and see you at the seas
  3. Not sure, if the playerbase (according to „skills“) at 8-10 is that much different to midtier. I‘d say from my perspective since 5 years you can categorize it pretty equal for 8-10, 5-7 and 5-10: solo: decent is 55%+ good is 60%+ really good is 65%+ extraordinary is 70%+ for 2-man divisions ad 7-8%, for 3-man divisions ad 15%. Knowing this might be tough to accept and a challenge to add into self reflection for most players, I skip writing, what I think about ratings. Finally it‘s only a game and one has to find away to make the game enjoyable and fun to play. For some people it’s about winning and everything connected to it, like stats, for some people it’s about having a good time while enjoying graphics, ships and just cruising a bit. That’s fine, there are several motivations to play that game, if one doesn’t consider it to be fun to play, one might expect the wrong thing out of this game and one should self reflect what one is capable to get out of this game and what one isn’t. Selfreflection is a good thing to do then and after that some readjustment of expectations. Then fun might happen while playing this (still only a) game.

[RESULTS] Competition: Win Premium Ships This Weekend!

Edit: mystery solved: Your 3,5 k aren’t base EXP. besides: Thx for the price. Luckily the right time I played Sims to crush the leaderboard it seems. Nice bycatch that was. Much appreciated Wargaming

Not playing cv anymore, but also not interested in being challenged less due to unsmart moves by WG.. so signed.

    Your LEAST played premium ships?

same here.. got it over the invite a friend code and never moved it, not even in coop.. at least it was some credits and a free place in port

close call because of 4 yolo and out games I had, but Kidd Leaderboard - Check Right in time for a one week break due to management conference. Lets see, what the next ship is after the break or if place 2 is gonna strike back meanwhile Have to admit, that unicum midways had been a challenge in this ship, but overall still handable.

    the "carry harder!" thread

Sometimes one can't carry harder 7,5 minute win.. hillarious exp on both ends Reminds me of old WoT-times where you had games that are over before you really realize what happens.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

Thanks - if that's no sarcasm. It's a second account I set up to try out something back in September 2018. When all those discussions on the CV rework came up at the beginning of this year, I had an argument with somebody which resulted in a funbet, that it's still possible to crack the Leaderboards if one is able to adept - even in a DD when you get permaspotted in many games. The bet was about to crack the leaderboard on 5 ships worldwide over all servers. This is already done with Clemson, Sims, Akatsuki, Kagero and Yugumo. While doing this I got fixed on a bit doing so - bycatch was the damage world record on Kagero which Panzerknacker featured on his youtube channel. That focus might not be everyones interpretation of fun in world of warships, but for me it's a personal challenge that provides me fun (and sometimes the opposite when I go yolo and out and almost crash the whole streak of a statsrun for a ship). On my first account I played almost every ship in every tree and most premiums/free exp/coal/steel ships besides the latest british CVs and the british DD tree. I tried all classes - not in the current meta but I know almost all the ships from both sides (player-opponent) and I got a pretty good self-reflection on where I'm good at and what provides me fun and what doesn't. Playing DDs is obviosly something where im really good at and that class is the one that provides me most of the fun, while playing CV and BB I would consider myself average and on Cruisers I'd say pretty decent. At the moment I don't miss playing the ships in the first account - might be that changes in the future, but I doubt it. Like said, I actually do what provides me fun and I feel no need to play something different right now. So that the ships in the first account do not rot, my little brother moves them from time to time betraying matchmaking monitor playing a super unicum account like a potatoe, haha. But that's ok. Like said, i got fixed on this account, the DDs and the challenge to crush leaderboards. Might be this becomes my main account as theres all inside that provides fun and I'm looking forward to see how far this "project" can be stretched. Have fun and see you at seas -sry for being off topic-

not top, but a decent one to prove low tier 8 can contribute in an almost complete tier 10 game Our Repu tanked quite a lot and did very well.

    How does Skill effects WR?

That ain‘t rigging. Nothing in this game is rigged, there are simple explanations for everything and mostly it’s failures.. and when it comes to failures oneself did, oneself starts to find explanations not including oneself and this fastly becomes abstruse nonsense. Self reflection is the solution here, but that’s something some people aren’t able to do - not only in this game. That’s truely sad, but that’s the way it is.

    How does Skill effects WR?

Simple reason.. your team managed to get flanked after 3,5 minutes. Main reason is, your z-52 is totally out of position letting the flanking had happened. Awful, nothing else to say here.

    The Odd Man Out

Well pointed out. @Saltface One thing I want to add for playing DDs: The key to success somehow is a mixture of map awareness - especially for rdr, hydro, planes, fleet movement (tend to follow enemy DDs) and patience. Those sum up to a higher survival rate, which is mandatory for contributing into the game and mostly correlates directly to winrate and ratings. Patience is tough to learn - especially in DDs where your health pool isn't that high and beeing radared or hydroed often makes captains overextend and do things that weren't necessary like broading to get out of the radar that ends in some seconds or broading to enemy dd inside smoke with hydro instead of reversing bow on and move out of hydro distance. Map awareness and knowing how to handle your boat will come over time as you have shown the will to learn. The patience thing is tough, even many decent captains tend to misinterpret their situation and overextend in such situations. A way to learn that patience is, to force on BBs one on one close range. Either they took their salvo alrdy, then you got 20-30 seconds to force and outmaneuver their guns or you dodge one salvo and force on them. Plus - this way to play a DD is awesome fun. As I just had a game where I cracked two BBs forcing on them and dropping within 3km, I will leave it here if you are interested. All with a Kidd where you have to hit your 1 torp salvo or you are done. https://replayswows.com/replay/45511#stats According to how to start with DDs I would recommend to start with stealth action. Use the IJN low to midtier DDs that are able to drop and hit torps stealth. This way you learn to predict enemy ship movement, enemy fleet movement and map awareness regarding how to flank enemies, to predict enemy movement around silands or through gaps or turning to not broadside our team and this way to optimize your dropping schemes on torps. IJN DDs are the easiest way to start DD play, though it's the toughest line to master in mid and high tier, due to highly recommended map awareness and patience. After IJN I would recommend the US line, because it builds the bridge to gunboat DDs while offering the option to play stealthy either with mid and high tier torp range being signifanct higher than visibility range. According to map awareness, knowing hydro and radar ranges and duration and using an IJN DD in a way to stay inside torp range to be effective while using given map parameters like islands while reloading, I can reccomedn to watch this video. There everything came down to patience - which is the key. Good luck mate

thx m8. Yep Sims has some edge due to (not confirmed?) Exp bonus.

    Permanent Uptier

Well m8, being uptiered one tier is pretty much normal. Otherwise you would be top tier every game which the other guys would consider to be unfair, aye? As your winrate in DDs is above 60% since ages, you should be uptiered all the time in DDs anyway since ages. So you obviously could handle that if so - at least in DDs. I hope you get the point, that your feelings aren‘t matching facts in this and that it is simply a problem of which ship you play in which way and which match constellation. Self-reflect that a bit.. sure a bad streak sucks and one tends to find the reason somewhere but in the own actions - but for this feelings there is the „Frusttherapie“. You should know better, as your nickname tells..

Radio Location - good decision to implement?

Interesting point. I mostly don‘t use RPF, because I haven‘t got the points left due to other skillsets on my captains - even if 19pt. I would consider a permanent RPF on all ships to make games more balanced and less easier for me to carry as a DD. Not necessarily because enemy DDs have it, but cruisers and BBs. Sure - if enemies watch the map and movement of the game, they also would find many hints on if they get flanked at the moment or not, but if they get a signal over RPF and there is nobody to be seen, this might rise their awareness. Easy takeouts, dev strikes and game changing flanking actions would become less significant. On the other Hand it would be for sure, that there always is that share of players who ignore every hint or signal and keep their tunnelvision. But that won‘t be changed even if those players had 20km perms Radar and hydro. I consider perma RPF to even the outcome of games a bit and to be a positive change for balancing over all aspects of the game. Therefore I’m not sure if I want my impact on the game to be reduced.. haha. ;-) Same goes with other possibly new captain skills. Everything that implements a bit of variation into the game is fun to have and a new variable to adept your skillset and play on. Some players will use it and adept to it, some will ignore it, that‘s our reality.. In personal I would appreciate every challenge and variable I have to deal with.

Got a bit greedy today, so I did 30 Sims games. Leaderboard is in the books - 80 % won solo plus another 5k rating ship

    WG`s joke camo.

Well.. we had threads for tier X economy where players whined about not making profit because they have to buy camos. Can't see a reason to blame WG for giving out 1st: free stuff 2nd: stuff that's more usefull than ingame available ones for credits Plus that extra free EXP might be something many players are interested in (getting for free). Unlucky complaint, OP.

    How does Skill effects WR?

Simple solution, play DDs not BBs.. since the CV rework MM clearly cheats for DDs because DDs are the next class to be reworked. BBs are always cheated on by MM, that's the only constancy since 2013. I got proof - all solo and because it can't be neither Skill nor luck, it's gotta be rigged matchmaking. Might be matchmaking turns into favor for BBs when everybody plays DDs. Let's outsmart that rigged matchmaking engine. Last time I wrote here, lol.. unbelievable mental nonsense in this thread..

Carried while covering base.. almost twice base EXP of second highest might not be enough for the weekend challenge, but it's a baseline to build on. Two lemming trains either team around the clock.. I blocked the enemy one and luckily late game 3 others decided to help and exited our lemming train - othwerwise we had lost.

    What's your captain strategy?

Got several 19pt captains to use and a decent balance on free captains exp. As I tend to play a ship for a certain time and don't alternate that much, I use the 19 pt captain for the ship actually in use. To retrain a captain on the new ship I always use the 200k credit 50% invest and accellerate the retraining by spending the rest amount out of my free captains exp. If you use those flags, wargaming provides over certain ways (arsenal, daily boxes, ranked, campaigns,..) you will always have a decent amount of free exp and free captains exp to work with.
