    Bismarck Help

    Play Bis in the convoy mode. Spec secondary build and use island to get in close, hydro and secondaries will keep dds away. Angle and avoid showing a broadside to NCs etc. Bis is a great BB, I prefer it over Tirpitz but I do like Odin more. Play convoys and co ops to fine tune your skills / brawling.

    That’s why a lot like this game mode (actually fighting / brawling at close quarters), without any sniping, camping or anal he spamming which is exactly the kind of thing WG has encouraged. wonder why you get so many epicentre maps, cyclones and storms etc 😉.

Imho yes, but then I like the Dutch cruiser play style and have got used to air strikes, planes hate D7P, the stacked (3) air strikes can and does either blap or cause serious damage, like a lot of ships it has a glass side so you need to know what you’re doing. It’s not an impact ship you need time to do damage in it, that said it is useful in convoy mode attacking the transports.

    Napoli yoshino or Salem

    I’ve only played and have Yoshino, it’s a monster in Co-ops and great for grinding directives BUT a citadel magnet in randoms, think of it as an Uber atago but with very effective AA, I don’t have Salem because I have a DM, of the 3 I think Napoli is the most balanced but it depends on your play style; island hugging he spammer, open water kiting spammer or bit of both.

    That’s funny I don’t recall mentioning how many of the 5 were attacking or defending, tbh I don’t think that matters, it was both btw 😉, my point is that the concept is both enjoyable and very very simplistic; you either have to sink all 4 ships or ensure that at least one gets to the end, but A LOT still don’t get it, preferring to attack a full hp bb when a low hp transport is closer, and that highlights the core issue with the game; player base ability and understanding of the game, flambass (an exceptional player), posted a video for his very first convoy and it was a very close loss, watch it and you’ll see potato team mates die as quickly as a smoked static dd in a cap, and that he lost but “could” have won the game. Yep the defenders won beating Flambass 😱. in this mode you need to monitor the map, angle, select the right targets and when protecting the transports “protect them”, ie I position my NC or Bismarck literally right next to one, a lot sail head first towards the attackers or go on a magical mystery tour. The one game lost yesterday was as an attacker, because of an anal Cleveland that drove into an island reversed in front of me (blocking me), leaving me to be focussed on by the defending fleet. Watch “a lot” of the player base play in this mode and you can see the state of the game and why random rofl stomps occur.

    I disagree, I've played 11 convoys in the last 2 days, winning 10, 7 of those as a defender, the attackers do have the advantage (known route) and they only have to kill 4, today escorts and transports seem to be starting at different ends, and if there's a carrier you can easily kill a transport ship before the escorts have linked up with the transports. I think we can all agree if the player base skill level was anywhere half decent, this would be a really good challenging mode, but as over half the players are dim wits oblivious even to the very simple task "SINK OR PROTECT" the TRANSPORT SHIPS. you can kiss any hope of angling, tactics and good play out of the way. I am now getting bored, 3 accolades in next to no time highlights the state of the player base, and I'm just an average (50+ % WR) player. WG How about an experiment; do a quick patch putting subs in ?. (Removing the homing mach speed torpedo's, for more realistic Torps). Update: I've now played 5 games today, ALL WINS, that's 13 out of 14 over the last 2 days, initially I enjoyed this mode, but if I could vote again I'd put Neutral. The mode isn't the issue, sure it needs a few tweaks and maybe the inclusion of a sub (or even a specific subs vs convoy mode), but the issue is well known; the player base, those that don't notice/use the map, those that don't angle, those that charge into a cap, smoke up and stay static, and those that attack a BB in the middle of 2 transport ships that they're meant to sink, etc.etc.etc, That's why we see so many ROFLSTOMPS in randoms and why so many good players grind in co ops. WG I know you don't listen and don't care about anything other than money, and that the apology was only put out because you had to to quell the unrest, but you must see the state of the game, it's killing the enjoyment and game.

    Played 7 today , 3 as attacker and 4 as defender, only lost 1 (attack force), killed by friendly cleveland who couldn't see an island, he died reversing into me, blocking and then killing me (focused by reds). I hope WG notices what happens when HE SPAMMING from behind an island is taken out, brawling and actually fighting toe to toe (FUN) occurs, that's why I love the Ocean map; NOWHERE TO HIDE !. Of course WG thinks giving us countless cyclones/storms & reduced visibility makes up for it's self inflicted distant HE Spamming. Any chance WG have taken note ?. Update; now played 8, won 7, 5 won as defender, who said attackers had it easy

    Easier to attack, really ?? As you can see not one single transport/supply ship destroyed. The attacking force preferred to attack the defending force mainly from behind an island. It was me and a useless Tone (who was up my arse most of the game), vs 3, not one of the 3 attacked the transport ships ?. My first jaunt in this mode in a US BB, NC rocks in this mode, but I guess against total Muppets any BB would rock !. So I've now got Raider and Safe Route, any other accolades muppets can help me win ?. And I've only been playing this mode since last night.

    You only need to watch any game mode and read posts from all knowing players with less than 300 games to realise the mess WG have put the game in, here have a high tier premium. We recently saw the first sincere sounding apology from WG I can recall, it’s time they addressed skill levels, easy access to high tiers and MM.

    Sorry but even Asashio and convoy mode highlights Bad players, met and sank 1 yesterday in Bis, instead of staying concealed and using those nightmare torps they charged me, dead before they got 1 Torp away. Convoy imho isn’t the mode for the Asashio. Due to all the islands and if you’re a defender you’re handicapped.

    Yep, personally I’d prefer to see more diverse modes like convoy, Pearl harbour type attacks; defend the base including AA and installations and attack the base/fleet, and a lot more REAL ships , I’d also like to see pre dreadnought botes like warrior and maybe even earlier, imagine what WG could do with victory etc graphically, but we all know that won’t happen. Did the Russians have pop gun rowing boats back then 🤭.

    I hope (but we know what WG are like), that subs will never be in randoms but will have their own modes, which would enable wolf packs. At the moment we have attacking fleets vs defending fleets , apart from raiders like Spee and shiny etc and a few plane attacks most real convoy damage was done by subs, this mode is a start and I think we all prey that WG actually listens to us for a change and tweaks and expands on it, it has so much potential but we all WG would rather throw us another Paper ship (probably Russian) rather than develop “game play”and scenarios etc), which would entice players to get REAL ships (shiny, tirp, uboats etc).

    Like or loathe it, it highlights those good players and the total muppets instantly, maybe the geniuses at WG🤣😂 will stat gather and improve things skill wise 🥴.

    Sadly I agree, and I do appreciate too much of a good thing (perm convoy), would get boring, but if there is any sense at WG they’ll see the interest this mode has created, they’ll tweak it and roll it out with more interesting / enjoyable modes throughout the year. I’ve always liked to see “same ship” modes (e.g. 10 bbs vs 10 bbs etc), and a battle royale which would, I’m sure; encourage players to learn to angle and play better, WG has to do something about the skill level, what I saw yesterday was akin to a total noob para dropping into towers (fortnite) and getting instantly blapped.

    Had it not been for 3 total muppets I’d have won every convoy yesterday, as defender and as attacker, yes the attackers job is easier when the 4 ships are spotted, and only the defending force should know the convoy route. But again put decent players in the defence force and muppets in the attacking force and neither attacking bonuses matter. I’d really like to see this mode played by unicums /pro’s (players much better than I), I’d also like to know what Conway and others actually think about the mode, it needs slight tweaks and should imho be a permanent mode, along with duel and brawl (giving us gamers more choice).

    TOTALLY AGREE, I love this game mode, it deffo highlights those who can play this mode and who can't, those that don't even understand the aim is simple; sink or protect the 4 supply ships. If such players can't understand that, AND THERE ARE "A LOT" of those players, that highlights why so many rofl stomps occur in randoms and the lack of realization that there's a map in the bottom right corner.

    I voted very positive, HOWEVER once again it highlights the intelligence of certain players, WG's lack of coherent noob intro and how unrealistic the final score board is. A friendly attacking Tirpitz got right into the convoy there were just 2 supply ships left, there was a supply ship a BB in the middle and a supply ship, what did tirp do ?, torp the bb (which only took half it's HP), Tirp died and game was lost (as remaining 2 attackers died), both supply ships were very low H,P, so WHY didn't TIRP torp the first Supply ship (they literally just sailed past it !), and then ram the second, this player single handled grabbed defeat out of victory, his reward top of the LOSING Team. An OUNCE of intelligence and quite rightly they'd have finished top. Did TIRP player NOT understand the aim of the game; PROTECT OR KILL the 4 Supply Ships ?. How many others don't get that ?. no matter how good the game mode, and this is a good one, player ability OR LACK OFF, will stand out and ruin it for others. Very next battle, defending Bismarck (very low hp) right next to sole surviving supply ship, sails "past" attacking Tirpitz and dies, quickly followed by supply ship, AGAIN an "OUNCE" of intelligence would have seen Bis Ram Tirp !!!. WG now that we can't torp or hit a friendly can we please have a vote for the biggest MUPPET after each game please !. This game mode definitely highlights those that know how to play this game, and those that clearly don't. Raider (for killing 2 supply ships if you didn't know), it's a pity WG doesn't recognize players for actually killing 3 and taking the 4th for 21k (a steal kill). Recommended ships; BIS, TIRP, ODIN, INDOM and Loyang/Benson, btw Vanguard also good (if you know how to play her). Have yet to try US BB's.

    I initially regretted getting Bama ALOT, having played German and Brit BB’s waiting for Bama’s shells to land seemed like an eternity, I’ve played and have NC and played Massachusetts, they do have different personalities and both good and bad points, bama has better manoeuvrability, has better torp protection and is shorter, the recent change to Capt skills has buffed her secondaries and I personally prefer NC and Bama to Massa, Iowa and Montana. They problem with Massa and Bama is this: why spend money on them when you can get an exceptional tech tree ship (NC) for free ?.

    Just had a quick look online for WOWS merch and found very little, especially official merch, which given WG’s fondness of our rubbles is a surprise. WOT and even WOP can be found and given it’s the 5th Anniversary of WOWS and the huge player base I’m amazed WG seem to have zero interest in wows merch ?.

    Ship happens 😉 it’s just a surprise that such a money obsessed organisation doesn’t have merchandise, be it cups, hats, face masks, clock port holes, cobi models, t shirts, key rings, posters etc,etc,etc they’d make a killing, name any recent film franchise that didn’t have merchandise that didn’t make more than the film did at the cinema and how many go to a footy match (pre Covid), and just buy the tickets, the amount of money they could make would dwarf any event they can think of, it kinda highlights the we’ll add more but won’t address the issues mentality. I suppose all t shirts would be red anyway.
