@VanD4rk you make some very valid points, I think you can understand DD players not going into caps and why they dont do it, the point of the thread, DD play has changed, if its for the better or the worst it does not matter, things change, The point of the thread is to discuss tactics, new and / or old. I think there will be a few " People " wanting this thread to be " buried " for a number of reasons. o7

He should not be going into the Cap with 4 enemy ships known in there and no cover. 2. He should not be trying to block ME or any other DD ( some thing that seems to be happening a lot recently why I can only hazard a guess ) 3. I think he was either a bot, or afk and on a auto nav, using his secondaries to make some XP, while he had a cup of tea and a nice biscuit ( if this is the case its pure scum ) 5. My Tops My Problem

You are forgetting YOU are a more intellectual player, not ever one is like you. People come home from a bad day in the office, they had an argument with there wife, etc etc, blar blar blar, and basically just want to kill some thing " internet Murder " by proxy, to for fill the need for serotonin

@mtm78 You make a good point My friend, I think you are right, however I think there is always going to be some romantic notion at first, where by a player wants to drop depth charges on a sub, short lived as it may be ( ammunition cost money ) The romantic weekender will not care on it, The Pro Destroyer Top Gun, will see a game opportunity and use it for there advantage.

Currently here is what I am thinking. This game in the early stages encourages a player, to discover Destroyer play I feel the " accepted " normal opinion is that a Destroyer Player should try and reach the objective, ( Take capture points ) and scout for your team. I agree with this opinion. However, I also feel with the introduction of CV rework, and Radar ships, this is not as " easy as it use to be " I feel a Destroyer Captain at the higher levels now has to be " More skilful ", it may be a bit easier if you team play ( divisions ) however I still regard Destroyer play at T8 to TX a high skill factor to play and have an impact on the teams performance, the days of rushing into a capture point for me is over. For my self The Destroyer ,s game play and combat role has changed slightly. My DD,s are now gearing up as hunter killers of any thing red, prioritising " perceived threats " . I think the more players that lose money and have negative game experiences ( short games ) will not wish to " Discover Destroyer game play " so " readily " thus there will be less Destroyers in game. The " proposed " submarine and anti submarine warfare game play, will help spike destroyer numbers for a short time, while players explore the " depth charges etc " On the whole having said all that, IMHO Destroyer in wows days are numbered, players will " savvy up " and only the Top Guns in Destroyers will still enjoy playing them. I seriously think, that its wise not to bring a destroyer to a T8 Ranked at the moment, I think its going to be too toxic, with CV,s and radar cruisers, + Hsienyang in game, and I am not sure of the impact on the game they will / can have. Apart from that, a Destroyer will also have to dodge Hydroacoustic, making it a totally toxic meta. I ask my self is it worth the investment of signals and modules? I also ask myself are the days of The Destroyer in world of warships numbered?

At best you might get 4 targets, so your dependant on your guns, but from memory it had 5.6km detection so in a good team your useful for scouting if there no CV Kidd might be a better pick because of the heal and the AA mod + 5 127 rl at 3.3 sec
