I wonder if WG will replicate the Azuma / Yoshino shenanigans with the Alaska class? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Guam_(CB-2) The alaska class main battery guns could manage a rof of 3 shells per minute, so surely the tier ix vessel is not the ultimate version of the class...

Broadside I would say they are as weak as eachother although Grad has 50mm deck armour so less vulnerable to IFHE, but gun on gun. Stalingrad outperforms the Alaska both in penetration and accuracy. Alaska being a US ship has steeper trajectories than the grad since the shells are heavier.

@MrConway It's a real shame, the way the game has been handled these past few months, delays rework, premium ship nerfs. Because of it I said I would never buy another ship from you and then you put the Alaska on sale. I have the power to buy this ship right now, but I am not going to. I am gonna bite my lip and freemium it via FreeXP. Such a shame as I woulda gladly paid the cash price for it, beware the hand that feeds you....

Clear all filters on ship carousel?

A good BB should have a balance of AP and HE, as you will need both in order to cope with various combat situations. RN BBs being heavily reliant of HE as their main damage proprietor is to me not realistic. I am sure in real life RN BBs had much better performing AP than is portrayed ingame hence why I avoid these ships as they are pure fantasy. The only RN BB I do have is the KGV...

I think with all the hype and long delays over the release of this ship. Given how the Jean Bart was released for cash, coal and now that its back on sale again tell me they are gonna do the same thing with the Alaska. Its a ship everyone wants and its ready to be released, they are gonna offer it for cash? I bet you any money! The delays are merely to build anticipation...
