Black ships are pretty annoying for that reason. I have both tirpitz, both asashio, both Massa and both Alaska. The only different between the ships is a nice camo.

Some lines have ships that are either worse than most of the line of just very different. Izumo used to be a ship you would skip but it’s pretty good now. Unless you have lots of freeXP, it’s not really recommended. It’s better used to get the modules straight away so you don’t have to play the A hull.

Only played two battles in tromp so far. Seems pretty good though i'm struggling to land bombs. Alvaro is very nice too. Both are decent long range HE spammers but have more to them such as torps or airstrikes that makes them a little more interesting. I personally find air strikes hard to land so would probably prefer Alvaro but if you can land the strikes I'm sure the Tromp can be strong

Gibraltar is a bit limited by a useless consumable (smoke) and it's citadel is huge and so easy for battleships to hit from many angles. Sevastopol is good. It's heal and concealment make it significantly different to Stalingrad while the guns retain some of those advantages. Gibraltar is actually quite fun and obliterates DDs and superlight cruisers that charge it but no torps and no HE severely limit it's effectiveness against ships with a little more armour.

How much time do you spend shooting cruisers compared to subs destroyers and battleships? IFHE makes you stronger against one class that you generally avoid exchanging with but weaker to everything else.
