And that of course was the advantage of the Scharnhorst, the short fuse time would allow more frequent full pens in DDs. Now you could try HE, then you have cruiser dmg with battleship dispersion and semi-battleship reload. I do think the Scharnhorst and Graf spee are the big losers to this.

I've grinded the Legendary for Moskva and Grosser Kurfurst, Moskva Legendary is great as it does feel more accurate and the extra range is very useable. The G Kurfurst's Legendary is also very strong as you don't miss the extra range when you have german dispersion!

I really am not trying to make any kind of argument here. I’m a decidedly average and inexperienced player. I have only presented the numbers as they are concrete. i have then used those numbers to say c100mm guns can penetrate very few things at high tier and that IFHE would only allow them to pen superstructure so probably isn’t worth it. Again backed up by the very numbers the game uses to decide if a shell penetrates or not. is there a way to see my stats on the GK before and after IFHE installation? That would be interesting in a few months.

I’m only using the figures to make judgements on the c100mm secondaries. The penetration figures show that they will not pen same tier battleships anywhere at all. I I’m not saying they are bad ships. The same goes for the German secondaries, they are basically fire starters with limited capacity to cause damage. If I’ve missed anything regarding pen values please let me know. I’m not basing that on anything that could be so biased as experience! I could share my stats but IFHE secondaries are new to me. Which stats are you interested in?

Do you use Demolition expert or BFT? I specced into BFT than I realised that DE would increase the secondary fire chance by 50%!

Never used fire prevention on any ship. Even on the GK the amount of times I’ve had two irreparable fires is really very few. I don’t view it as worth 4 points.

Well IFHE on the Kurfurst, not regretting it yet! Burned down a Conqueror with 76,000 secondary damage!

True the Massachusetts seems to have better arcs that the Bismarck. It's secondaries do tend to die to HE though, Bismarck's seem more resilient. You're making me reconsider the Jean Bart, I should be able to buy it when the December coupon comes out but maybe I'll leave it!

I have neither, Republique's aren't great. Alsace have the highest DPM but just don't pen anything so are realy fire starters.

I’ve got a couple of ten point German captains with no home. I might just re buy the Bismarck and build one of them up. Seeing the way my Massachusetts melts 25mm tier 7 battleships I just have to try with the GK!

I'm tempted but now I've won a Tirpitz B I don't really want it's captain to have IFHE in the place of concealment, It will only help penetration in very few situations. I hope Wargaming consider giving the 105s 1/4 pen like they are giving the Freidrich de Grobe .

IFHE? With it the 100mm guns can pen 21mm. It won’t help against cruisers or battleships. It will against some destroyers of course. The 155s willpen 32mm but that’s hardly worth it.

This is interesting Yamato has higher secondary DPM than any of the Germans at 627,818. the range only lacks slightly against the GK. it seems 1/4 pen and larger amounts of c150mm guns is the reason for the secondary viability of the Germans.

..Cough.... the winner is Alsace with 771000 DPM 672000 of which comes from the 100mm with only 16mm pen 99000 from the 152mm which don’t pen 25mm stock but can pen 32mm with IFHE. This ship won’t do as much damage as any of the others mentioned to battleships or cruisers at same tier. This one is the pyromaniac!

They each have higher DPM on one side of the secondaries(Only half can fire on one target) than the seattle. If only we could do the shooting ourselves rather than the drunken sailors.

I’m coming around to the idea of 10% max damage for BB AP. Had a fun musashi game where a Le Terible appeared at 3km, two full pens, 3000 dmg. Under the old system it would have been 9000dmg, devestating strike. As it was he blew his torps to he spent 30 seconds being picked apart by my bog standard secondaries. I also find myself playing destroyers more. unfortunately I don’t play the Scharnhorst anymore as it has lost its advantage

Just had a battle where the enemy CV was very good, we all died very quickly. The thing is, ours was also a good player just not as good. I was in the Tirpitz against a Midway so it was expected. Hopefully the rework will not have the CV being the win or loss of the match

Just melted one with my Massachusetts. Hard to justify not spending the extra. Or you could see if you get it in a crate first. at tier 6 what advantage do 406 guns have over 381? The only thing you’ll face that can bow tank one and not the other are a couple of tier 8 cruisers.

Just called this a Massachusetts with special black camo and given 5,000+ doubloons to those who already had the ship. I don't understand why it had to be a different ship at all.
