Scharnhorst was my first premium. I believe I got a Kraken on my very first battle. So much fun brawling with battleships and the small AP used to be effective even against DDs due to its low arming threshold and short fuse time. It is unfortunately hard to overcome the fact that only one other T7 BB cannot overmatch 25mm plating and that one has 16 guns! The Hood was my first Supercontainer ship. I had so much fun with that especially in carrier games. It's sigma increase combined with improved ricochet angles make it still very good.

I still have AFT on so many of my non secondary ships, that's going. Might replace with fire prevention. Clearly we should be testing this new skill to see if it' worth it.

20% with a 20 sec reload is not great considering most T7 battleships have a fire chance of 30+ with a 30 sec reload. The problem is other battleships HE hits at least 60% harder (Nagato more than 100% harder) It's still a good ship, I'm just not sure that it's HE has much use really.

Scharnhorst HE is abysmal. So little damage you may as well just aim for superstructure AP overpens.

Agreed with Leningrad turret traverse but the ship is so strong it shouldn’t be buffed.

128/4 = 32 according to current mechanics HE pen value needs to be greater than that of the armour to penetrate. 128s therefore pen 31mm of armour. As I said earlier, if HE pen changes go ahead these 128s WILL pen 32mm.

Not really. Without IFHE you pen: DDs, Cruiser superstructure and battleship superstructure. With IFHE you pen DDs, Cruiser everywhere except 30mm plate on tier 10 and armour belt, Battleship superstructure. It only makes a different on certain areas of one class of ship. The vast majority of Kurfurst guns need IFHE to pen 32mm. From memory less than 100,000 dpm comes from those 150mm the other 440,000 comes from the 128s. IFHE is preferable. If HE pen changes go ahead as they are now the Kurfurst will not need IFHE.

You can, you will melt cruisers but it still won't make a dent on battleships nor will it help against DDs. I don't use it. With the Mass when top tier it's fun against T7 battleships but the cost is just too high.

Love a good secondary question! Massachusetts and Georgia have excellent accuracy and good fire chance. If you load Manual secs DDs will hate you. They don't pen T8+ battleships. Tirpitz, Bismarck and FDG 100mm will pen battleship plating with IFHE however, at range the travel time is high and the shots tend to land on superstructure. Damage saturation limits the damage very quickly. Grosser Kurfurst will pen all battleship plating with IFHE, if HE pen changes go ahead it will no longer need IFHE and will easily be the best secondary ship. The current advantage over the other german's is a lower shell travel time meaning more shells land on the hull of the enemy ship maximising damage. These ships all have secondary dpm of 500,000 to 540,000. The German ships have a good armour profile that suits brawling. The Alsace and Jean bart have considerably higher dpm of 800,000+ but pen nothing without IFHE. and lack armour to brawl. GK is the best secondary ship overall but the accuracy of those US secondaries makes them very useful.

I love secondary builds but I never thought the french were good at it. The Gascogne does have more than 50% higher secondary DPM than even the Kurfurst but pens nothing at tier without IFHE.

Front bulkhead is a bit weak for such a high citadel but I do still consider this a buff. 75% casemate heal is great and at least it now has the full amount of battleship heals. It it still seems to still have the improved AP angles. Still not as strong as the KGV but better than it was

I went secondary with the JB 800,000 dpm from the secondaries, highest in the game. They don't pen anything though.
