Yes the GK loves using islands to get close to the enemy. The plane and hydro let you see through those islands. secondaries ensure than even if someone does surprise around a corner, you’ll take them with you!

I unlocked the Z-52 and I'm having fun in it so far. With no CV I might try it. With the limit on battleships I've been considering whether I should try the Yoshino. Using AP for cruiser blapping mostly. Is Yoshino Viable in this environment?

I didn’t say the Arizona had MORE accurate guns, just that it had accurate guns. It’s accuracy come virtue of the number of shells rather than dispersion. You could perhaps say the Arizona has more consistent salvos. My problem with the West Virginia is it’s propensity to overpen even same tier battleships. It’s accuracy is fine for a tier 6. The Arizona is more accurate then the New Mexico on which its based due to a better sigma rating.

I enjoyed my Izumo grind since the buff. I did freexp past the stock modules straight to hull C. I agree that one of those hull modules should go but i don't think either ship needs a buff.

West Virginia seems to overpen everything at low tiers. Arizona's accurate and numerous guns are much better against cruisers and will still overmatch tier 5 battleships. I'd go Arizona.

I'm thinking of taking my IFHE Kurfurst into ranked.... Opinions?

Is ranked usually closer ranges than random?

Alabama does better when uptiered than most due to its manueverability and guns that overmatch 27mm. Massachusetts is better though!

Might try taking my Yoshino in a little closer to use those torps. I’m sure I’ll get blapped!

I was annoyed in my Kronstadt today. 10km from a Yoshino, angled but not too much aimed at the belt and got 2 pens no citadels. Yoshino doesn’t seem as squishy as I thought!

Do people really use the range module? Seems like w good way of being less useful to the team!

I don’t really support nerfs in general but if it had to happen: Replace 30mm plating with 25mm. Increase citadel armour to 100mm to arm more shells. Worth noting that this ship has very few hit points so this could end up being too much.

Against Destroyers and angled battleships the roon is probably better than the super-cruisers. Against cruisers and broadside battleships at range I would prefer to be in the Kronstadt or Alaska. Thanks to 25/27mm plating and 60 second fires the supercruisers are great targets for HE spammers. The supercruisers are strong but heavy cruisers have their place also.

I have fond memories of the Nurnberg B hull. I brawled with a Graf Spee and scharnhorst. melted the Graf spee with AP citadels and torped the Scharnhorst to death. It’s a really fun ship t close range when you learn to angle.

At high tier battle ranges the Nurnberg AP has less than 60mm penetration. Roughly 60% of the Chapayevs penetration. AP will only be useful at close range. I’m not worried about this ship being too strong at the moment.

I saw in the NA forum that people were getting good drop rates from these crates so I bought 10. I received the tier V. I do appreciate the special flags and type 59 camos though.

Smolensk is not that fun to play after a while. We’ll see far fewer of them in future. I finally decided to get the Shima so I had quite the DD grind over the last few weeks. Smolensk didn’t worry me. in a battleship it does but as it mostly does fire damage if you can withdraw you are fine. Smolensk doesn’t seem to have the impact on the game to match its damage numbers.

Does anybody know if there is a credit multiplier attached to ranked battles? I regularly got 900,000 credits in a battle in my Massachusetts.

T61 has amazing torps. Nearly as good as the tier 10 torps but with two thirds the reload time. Hard to see the downside.

Note that the Mainz will be higher in the water due to reduced displacement. It might end up as a relatively fragile ship. If that’s the case, Nurnberg turrets would be no problem.

I understand. However, on game it would be the first light cruiser with 27mm plating. There are of course very few high tier light cruisers in game. As the ship is based on the Hipper, it would make sense for it to have 27mm plating.

25mm is the standard for T8+ cruisers. Only British and a couple of new cruisers ( Smolensk, Colbert and Bayard) have less. Seems very normal to make it 25mm for the now light cruiser.
