I’m not convinced at all. The daring with IFHE has a higher DPM,good smoke, heal and torps. I know it’s a tier higher but I know I wouldn’t use it.

Modules so I rarely go out with a stock hull but other modules are less important. I tend to skip to T6 in new lines to save on captain retraining. I also skip weak ships of the line sometimes. I ended up using a lot and nearly running out in the anniversary event unlocking tier tens for super containers. Nelson is still a bargain at 375,000 freeXP Now saving up again for the next freeXP ship.

Peoples frustrations with destroyers always seem to be either: Destroyers don’t cap at the start of the game. Or Destroyers charge into cap and die right at the start. Destroyers are hard to play but don’t underestimate the part a good cruiser can play in capping. If the cruisers are in close the destroyer is far more likely to cap if the enemy has close support the destroyer either dies or runs from the cap. Some destroyers don’t even try to cap but many are assessing their support and opponent numbers. In that situation support the destroyers and they will cap. If a destroyer goes into cap take responsibility to support him. If you are with a Khaba you effectively don’t have a destroyer.

You know 6 of them were your fault for playing in a 3 DD division?

I would still be surprised if Wargaming nerfed the Smolensk without offering a coal refund. They could of course but it costs them nothing and would damage trust. I would happily return my Smolensk for a Thunderer. I hardly play the Smolensk, the play style is boring.

Just had what seemed like a good battle in my Tirpitz. I torped and killed two ships in a brawl and did 109,00dmg in just a few minutes. Then my Friendly Myoko 3km behind he killed me with torps! I obviously cannot be sure he did it on purpose but every torp he sent hit me! (Just wanted to rant about that!)

Does anyone get much use of these? If so, How? I fling some down the flanks at the start of a battle IF the destroyer abandons the flank AND I’ve been able to get in front of any cruiser on my flank. In the middle of the battles opportunities are few and far between as there it’s all to easy to hit teammates. At the end I might get the opportunity to throw some more out once teams have thinned out. If I choose to use the 12km torps and try to push in a little closer I get overmatched, penned and citadelled by any battleship that looks my way! I still enjoy the accurate guns and great HE but I’d happily swap those torps for another turret or a slight reload increase. Perhaps Asashio deep, DEEP water torpedoes would provide more opportunities for use.

I think we need separate matchmaking for gunboat DDs. It's painful to take a Khaba to cap. Of course, what do we then do with the hybrids?

If it's 1 v 1 I'd probably choose a cruiser, probably Atago hoping not to face a CV. I would hate to be a blind battleship looking for a torpedo destroyer or a destroyer trying to torp a hydro/radar cruiser!

I play early almost every day between 5:30 to 7:00 almost every game I have full teams. This morning I did have one 7 v 7 but even that is rare. I would not make the leap of calling a post 'stupid' if I were you.

The heal is such a big advantage while the slight reload nerf is not huge. However, if you want a tier 8 cruiser with a heal you might want to look into the Atago.

I actually skipped past most of the Hipper as I have the Prinz Eugen. The heal makes it a much better ship. The Roon is a much better ship and the Hindi much better again. Hindi still competes with other tier 10 cruisers but it once (before my time) was the go to ship for clan battles. The 50mm pen of was great but now they've given the Kremlin 60mm....

Yorck has higher HE DPM then the Roon! it used to have floaty AP so was the only HE spammer in the line. Now it’s AP is good. Hipper has 27mm armour so can bow tank a Bismarck!

If a plane focuses on me I leave the cap and run to the nearest Worcester.

I have 40,000 research points and they feel a little pointless. To get more will cost me freeXP doubloons credits and of course time. One regrind gives me the equivalent of 200,000 freeXP but costs so much more. I enjoyed the one regrind I did but I cannot imagine doing another for these rewards. I’m just wondering what others think about the research bureau and perhaps how the rewards could be made more enticing.

Yes. I have a Georgia and Smolensk so these ships don’t look that interesting to me.

Well, now you’ve made me feel bad! I’m British so I would like to have the Vanguard. Instead I bought a ship that never existed and is named after a man whose political views contributed to the deaths of millions! Hope you enjoy both ships.

Ah. Only once every 6 months. you can request all the ships you want in one claim but you can only claim once every 6 months.

Is it really worth getting the Vanguard AND the Thunderer? They have similar play styles so if it were me I’d probably end up only playing one of them. I just bought the Lenin instead of the Vanguard with discounted doubloons and the 25% coupon. Well armoured, very accurate under 14km or so, Cheaper and quite unique. Just my opinion of course!

One problem with the GK is it's huge - hard to saturate - superstructure. Even DDs can pen you there and cause a lot of damage. The Russians have a tiny superstructure which makes them more HE resistant than the Germans. When in a BB you can deal with an angled GK by getting full pens in it's superstructure, against something like a Vladivostok you will only bounce on the turrets.
