At range the Stalin will do a lot of damage and set many fires but if the PR gets into a brawling situation the Stalin shouldn’t last long. Effectively the same situation as Stalingrad vs battleship.

The biggest problem with the Huanghe is the Perth. The Perth is much better in every way ( except perhaps AA).

The fuse change wouldn’t make it bounce more. I do agree that the shorter fuses are superior as even with regular fuses your pen only citadels battleships at close range. Kronstadt guns work best at long range in spite of their accuracy when dealing with cruisers. The accuracy is of an accurate battleship rather than a cruiser but the 2.05 sigma makes them dangerous to cruisers. I usually enjoy hiting battleships hard from range every 16 seconds then angling baiting them on the return. it can also brawl with battleships very well. At close range it overpens readily but can citadel battleships fairly easily. It has a good belt and a citadel that is better hidden than most so battleships are no where near the threat they are to an Azuma. I prefer it to the Azuma though it probably isn’t quite as good as the Alaska which is an absolute cruiser killer.

I agree, it's a lot better than the duke of york and a good premium. I also would disagree with Flamu on the Vanguard which has so far served me well. Though he was correct about the turret angles being annoying.

I agree, WG will not balance ships a round 1v1. It's a shame though, the only game mode where the Tirpitz excels.... Perhaps one ranked season a year should be 1v1

AP bombs work for the enterprise. Of course both are premiums so I’m not expecting a buff.

I think that’s to will shell velocity and the corresponding angle of impact. Ships like Kronstadt Roma and the Germans fly straight through while the Americans in particular hit at an angle and straight into the citadel. I’m not sure if it’s the angle of impact increasing the effective armour and slowing the shell more or simply more time spent inside the ship due to the slower speed but the effect is there.

But not alone, I am really enjoying it at the moment. Interestingly before the matchmaking change this kind of thread would have many people suggesting not buying a T8 due to ending up against T10 ships all the time. Since the change T8 is a very pleasant tier to play. T7 though......

That's exactly how I used to play it. I changed it to a secondary/tank hybrid. I've barely played it since. Maybe I'll respec IFHE now not all battleships you face are Russian - and able to shatter even IFHE secondaries.

Shame they took the torps away. Charging a battleship with fuel smoke to drop torps at 2km feels so naughty! noticing I’m on directive three I’m now weighing up how hard to go for this ship.

Regarding Lenin, in my opinion the advantages of sigma, turret traverse and turning circle combined with slightly improved armour lessen the impact of the HP disparity. Vlad is probably still the best T8 silver ship so the Lenin doesn’t necessarily need to match it to be a very strong ship. I’m glad Wargaming didn’t just make them clones! Worth saying that I do not competitive so my comments are based around my experience in randoms.

Would you say the Massa is superior in randoms? I certainly would as would the stats as imperfect as they are. Lenin now has an accuracy advantage over the Vlad and has a much smaller section of 32mm armour. add that to the gun arrangement and I think they are fairly close in ability.

Massachusetts is the strongest. But needs a high point captain to enjoy all its benefits. Such a captain would not be great on other US battleships. i just got the Vanguard and it’s a lot better than I thought. Very accurate and manoeuvrable. Lenin is also fun. I have all the T8 premium battleships from the armory.

I’m so glad I was away for the start of this event. I’m sure I would have started the grind and become really frustrated before spending 35000 doubloons to complete it! instead I bought 80 big gifts providing me with 14 ships: Benham Saipan Enterprise Graf Zepplin Vanguard Wichita Azuma Viribus unitus Fujin Bayard Yudachi Yahagi Hill Siroco Much better value for money and I didn’t have to grind any of them!

More DDs are bad for a CV? Im a very new CV player but that is not my experience.

I didn’t play either until I received 3 CVs in my Christmas containers and now I’m finally having a go. Slowly improving and currently not good enough to inflict myself upon a team in randoms but enjoying it more than I thought!

Who made that mistake? Flamu says it’s the second best battleship after the Kremlin. It’s nice having an accurate battleship.

Wow that’s bad rng for a £500 spend. I spent similar last year and received all ships. Bought a few this year and have all ships in that list bar the Kaga.

The daring has very nice AP angles, give it a try!

Lessons learned from that led the Russians to build the best battleship that has ever existed, the Kremlin!

I have all but the Salem that I'm uninterested in and 130000 coal. I'm also waiting for the Siegfried, coal or freeXP is fine for me.

I’m surprised people buy this commander. He’s good but for that price and a coupon you can get a very nice ship.

IFHE GK was a decent build if not ideal when most battleships were french or British. Battleships just melted infront if you. It became far less effective with the soviet battleships arrival. I still keep manual secondary and AFT but use the aiming module. I also use superintendent and basics of survivability. Hoping for a secondary buff one day so the secondary build could at least be on par with the tank build.
