Like long range HE spam, Mainz is one of the best. Irian is indeed very good though and being able to shoot torps through your destroyers into pushing battleshipS makes it very strong. Bayard is probably the best of the long range spammer types as it also works well at close range, assassinating any destroyers who try to kill your own. It’s speed and concealment makes it very useful here. P bagration is very strong with its long range AP with improved ricochet angles it really hurts low tier cruisers at all ranges and many angles. The heal make and decent armour makes it the closest tier 8 has to a super cruiser. Mainz, Bayard and P. Bagration are my favourites.

I think I was very fortunate to get to rank 6 in less than 60 battles. My battle count is 63 but i remember getting to rank 6 with two stars, then losing those two stars and quitting ranked.

My biggest problem with the Ohio is my eagerness to use its secondaries. It is not really a brawler and is better at mid ranges where it’s accurate main guns work very well indeed!

I'm also on the fence, trying to decide whether to get this or Slava. Paolo Emilio looks more fun.

Loyang for it's hydro or Kidd for it's AA and heal. I think Kidd is a little more unique but both are fun.

If it was a tier 4 it would be a real ship. Real Russian ships are worse than fictional ones.

Black ships don’t drop in Christmas crates. Ive whaled on Christmas crates the last two years. They do tend to be very good value if you don’t mind winning ships you don’t really want.

The Bourgogne feels like that. I think I spend far too much time firing HE though!

Had a great Lenin game with I think my best T8 damage. Love consistent battleship guns. I'm not showing the team page as our Graf Zepplin, who played well throughout, decided to try and get his secondary kill against the enemy Kaga when the points were ticking at 969....... He threw away the win!

I really can’t comment on whether this ship is OP or not. However, watching it take 25k out of a Stalingrad in one drop is the reason I bought Bourgogne instead!

And what of the Rental Grozovoi and Zao?

I think Beasties point is more to do with why the rental CV is being dealt with differently to the other rental ships. I agree with him that it is odd and I would love to know the justification for that.

I agree actually. Is it a stark admission that the CV is an unbalanced class? That a potato in a cruiser or destroyer is much less of a threat to their own team than a potato CV? Could it be that there is a problem with CV balance?

Yes but when Flamu goes secondary he always goes all in with modules and skills, doesn’t use tank skills at all. I would always advocate fire prevention for secondary ships, you last a lot longer. I have also extensively tested secondaries against angled big battleships. IFHE is worse against German and Soviet battleships, better against french and British battleship and equal against USN battleships. It is more effective against cruisers but IME, few cruisers stay in secondary range very long.

Gremyashcy is a beast in spite of the terrible traverse. No buff needed, jus play to its strengths.

Gremy is worse. 36 second reload on a DD!! Kremlin laughs at both ships!

I agree, definitely swapping IFHE for AFT is better. IFHE allows all German secondaries to pen 32mm but halving fire chance and four skill points makes it far too expensive.
