Poll: Is anyone considering pouring money into the captain rework?
Miscommunication_dept replied to Ocsimano18's topic in General Discussion
26 million captain XP to use. I doubt I will need doubloons! -
Good points, the tank build is looking better and better.

No. The Bajie was Lazy as all they did was give it better accuracy and worse reload. This ship has no changes at all. Hard pass.

Siegfried goes from a very interesting cruiser to a boring one. WG could easily have given it a base secondary range and dispersion buff to make it's secondaries equal to now. Siegfried gets a double nerf with this and the fire prevention change. If all I can do with it is back line snipe, there are much better ships for that. My Thunderer and Slava can even benefit from that silly marksman skill. I would love my RP back! (I know that's not going to happen) -
Question about Luigi Sansonetti

If you transfer him to the ship you want him on before patch day, he will be fully retrained to that ship. -
How to get 38.500.000HP damage or 3.800.000HP (in one battle) to yourself in objectives for Hizen?

Potential damage. I once received 5.7m potential damage in a Kii of all things -
Help for choosing a ship (Thunderer vs. Georgia)?
Miscommunication_dept replied to Northern_Nightowl's topic in General Discussion
My biggest problem with the thunderer is the easy mode sit at 20km firing HE and 100k comes up very quickly. Using AP though is where it shines. Third most accurate battleship after Slava and Shikishima combined with fast reload makes Thunderer very good at capitalising on mistakes. I think it fits your wish list quite well. Georgia is a great ship though, nearly as accurate, swapping rudder shift for outright speed and improved heal for fast reload heal. It also has a little more armour but still a vulnerable citadel. Both are great but Thunderer is never bottom tier! -
WG its time you fix the "guns wont fire" bug

Is nerfing secondary builds justified in upcoming captain skills rework?
Miscommunication_dept replied to vaapad_master's topic in General Discussion
I used to do that then blame my team for not supporting me! -
Maximum dispersion - 57 m. Sigma – 2.00.??!! I didn't notice this before. 57m dispersion at 11.9km? For reference Z-52 is 106m at 12.05 km. Yubari with aiming systems 0 has 73m dispersion at 12.8km So these shells will go right to the point of your reticule!

The problem is that all three are very strong. Wargaming will not worry about a ship doing slightly less secondary damage if they are still performing well.
-
That's the in built buff to the German battleships. Not the skill.

Lets break down the new T10 Elbing
Miscommunication_dept replied to The_Chiv's topic in General Discussion
I’ll take my little German destroyer up to a Worcester thinking I will kill him with citadels. He returns fire taking out my engine and a turret. I will repair and fire again. Now he’s angled I get no more citadels. He fires again and again. Four fires and I regret my life’s decisions. Making a destroyer to kill light cruisers is very questionable. 150mm AP will overpen destroyers at almost all angles. There has been no mention of reduced fuse time so I assume these ships will also be poor against destroyers. This line looks poor right now.- 174 replies

Alaska seems to fit the bill quite nicely. It’s ricochet angles, penetration and accuracy make it one of the worst ships to face as a cruiser. It’s short reload gives you no time to turn out. It’s HE is better than Agirs and works nicely when battleships angle while it’s radar and reload make it deadly toward destroyers. As a side note: the other day I got 65 plane kills against a midway in one. Agir is the better brawler due to its torps and 90mm side plating make tankier when angled. However it’s higher citadel is much easier to hit than Alaska’s. Alaska battleship grade deck make it safe even against Yamato plunging fire.I tend to think that Agir is the more fun ship while Alaska is more effective. Georgia is a very fast battleship so it certainly could interest you. It has accurate guns and better armour than Alaska but does have a fairly exposed citadel. It’s reload is short for a battleship and it has 30mm overmatch. I would go Alaska.

In the twitch stream @MrConway seems to say that the secondary accuracy skill will now work without manually selecting a target? Did anyone else hear this?

PSA: Commander skills - opt-in skill reset
Miscommunication_dept replied to Jethro_Grey's topic in General Discussion
Thanks @Jethro_Grey. I'm sure they initially said it would be automatic. Wargaming is still Wargaming. -
Fragile and clumsy but it does have nice guns. It's dpm is worse than the Budyonny but its 30mm HE pen and very good AP pen makes it an interesting proposition.

ST 0.10.0, changes to test ships, German battleships, and commander skills
Miscommunication_dept replied to Tanatoy's topic in Development Blog
Do we know where @LittleWhiteMouse gets the initial value from? Massachusetts when released had secondary dispersion of 40% less than the Germans. Current values are 458m for the Germans and 278m for the Americans at 7.5km without skills. 458m - 50% = 229m. So German's will have better dispersion than the Americans? Devblog has been edited. It now says accuracy will be improved by 22.5% this should give a dispersion of 354m. USN battleships retain their accuracy advantage though it is reduced. Should make the GK the best secondary ship once again. -
Global nerfs is how Wargaming nerf premium ships. Ohio will remain strong but buffing other ships does not amount to a nerf to a specific ship.

Miscommunication_dept replied to Tanatoy's topic in Development Blog
50% better accuracy? Is this 50% more hits eg: 30% hit rate vs 20%. Or 50% smaller dispersion of secondaries? The Americans would have better accuracy then the Germans in the first instance and worse in the second. Even the first is probably enough to turn the GK into the better secondary ship. Ohio does have much better main guns though.
