Is the Aiming Systems Modification 1 worth/actually do anything?
howardxu_23 replied to howardxu_23's question in Q&A Section
So for highly accurate ships like Yamato, it is recommended put that on to gain more glorious dispersion, but iffy on less accurate ships, or put that on if secondary/aa on the said ship is not worth buffing right? -
RNGesus seems to cannot make up his mind wheather to give me good luck or no luck in the most recent battle. Helena drove straight into a island, full broadside to my fuso and my brother in his new pespi can(so no improvements yet) me: Omae Wa Mou Shindeiru 4 overpens, rest misses. Brother: FREEDOM SHALL COME TO YOU IN MANY GUNS 6 citadels, kill secured The next thing he knows he gets his stern jammed full of torps cause too busy screaming mlg360noscope stuff. DD gets spotted by my spotterplane, fired at it, managed to get 2 pens and some overpens, making it go from full hp to dead in one go, and apparently got detonation achievement as well. from what I can make sense of, RNGesus won’t let me delete a stationary broadside scrub, but will allow me to perform fun and en(r)gaging mechanic to a agile loliboat.

always go all out on the memes/stereotypes of the nation in question. for example anime stuff for IJN(for yamato use own song) this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1mlCPMYtPk for all USN ships+as many guns as possible, bigger the better, soviet ships get hardbass/russian national anthem and lots of vodka What happened(from my perspective): decide to play Svietlana after leaving her in the port for some time. did not play russian hardbass and have vodka on board. Stalin: GULAG FOR YOU. me: *detonation* more or less what happened for the next 2 games. fed up, so got myself lots of vodka, changed voiceover to russian, changed HE shells to vodka bottles, filled up the fuel tanks with vodka, and played russian hardbass on maximum volume. Stalin: I'm impressed, let fortune befall you comrade, now send all scrubs to gulag, and show them the glory of the soviet union. in battle: rushed B, found 3 dds, torpbeated all of their torps, then sent 2 of them to gulag(3rd bastard got away) left B after capping it, ran into 2 cruisers, both of them sailing full broadside to my position. Both of them got sent to gulag, no questions asked. found the 3rd dd again, another comrade Svietlana sent him to gulag. realised that everything is dead in the red team except for bb campers, so proceeded to fire vodka bottles at them for the rest of the battle. result: 4 killing blows, 3rd place in scoreboard. PS: don't know if I should put this in guides or something, but stats show the performance does goes up when I go all out on the memes, most noticeably soviet ships

Aircraft Carriers - Short and Medium Term CV Solutions
howardxu_23 replied to Widar_Thule's topic in General Discussion
Note: I have only have limited experience with cvs, only up to t5 as of now. Other experience is mostly from watching vids on how they operate. A very good read, gonna say some of my feedback on some of the points. agree with the points on t5 carrier MM, should really never be ever matched with t6s, or give t4-5s back their strafe only for spotting I say go with option B, but make it so all planes can still see other aircraft no matter what is the state, so you won’t get strafed out from nowhere. For solving invis fire have them revealed to the entire carrier’s team for the duration the squadron is alive in the aa fire, once the said squad has managed to get out of aa range/said ship turns off aa(provided the squad is not in air detectablity range) or destroyed, the ship goes back into stealth after 3s. For AA defence just make the control+click on squad create a panic effect which messes up accuracy like defensive fire, but not as much as it(I say less the half) since I’m not entirely sure that WG wants to rework consumable loadouts for all ships, only then have to potentially rework them again once the cv rework actually goes though Proposed Div system is a big no from me, it’s more of a group issue that has been consistent in pretty much most games with group systems. erything else is a whatever for me.- 16 replies

Recently started playing this because of my friend invited me to there, and have just unlocked the fuso in grinding the ijn bb line cause Yamato ( yes I may have rushed t3 and 4 a bit, but who wants to play a massively power creeped Kawachi with guns that make a vid game shotgun look like a sniper rifle and that is better off being a giant torpedo and the myogi which imo makes a better torpedo cause same reason as Kawachi guns, except less “pellets” per blast but better speed). So far my impression of the game is good, grind is slightly a bit on the harsh side but torlarable(no pain, no gain, cause end goal is Yamato) Basically played by throwing things at the wall to see what sticks, so charged in 1v 5 and died horribly serveral times early on(still do it every now and then, cause my situational awareness is limited to on the spot events, but is getting better) realised the hard way that standard naval warfare tactics are all out of the window in here( real life say show as much of your side as possible to bring all guns to bear...you can imagine what happened next xP) eyeballing shells at first for a month before actually using the crosshair to aim once I realised what it is, and not just a cool decoration on screen. Found my love in bbs, with a side of carriers/ Russian cruisers cause a) my brother showed an intrest in this game, b) Russian bias( just saw a Russian t1 gunboat back when I’m playing t1 basically solo 4 other ships) Learnt how to angle vs targets, Recently did my first attempted carry in a Kongō, but still lost cause no idea where the hell is the last dd lol x). (Thought that the massive masts that the Japanese ships had should be an advantage in daytime spotting over larger distances vs the shorter masts that the cruisers has, or is it actually useless in practice) so right now I’m wondering if i’m progressing at the game at a healthy rate, or if I should slow down a bit further and play each ship out a bit more, but I’m not sure about this part, since ijn bbs can differ from each tier by a massive amount, especially when I heard fuso is more like you shotgun something and see if it hits, while Nagato has high accuracy, more marksman rifle esq and Kongo being a batlecrusier(fast battleship on tooltip is wrong, I get penned by cruisers on the main belt even when I think the angle should be reasonable, bb shells will often fly right through, battleship in my definition should be able to stop at least cruisers calibire shells from >9km on the main belt reliably regardless on how I derp. That said, still did what I think is reasonably well in there) any additional tips is welcome, especially in the bb and aiming department( I have heard of aiming at the waterline, upper belt and deck area, but in which situations do you recommend in doing so for ijn bbs, especially considering they can vary quite a bit, and certain enimies)

Enjoying this game so far, so further tips?

I can say there are plenty of exceptions though, from my experience so far, both in fourms and in game. That said I have stopped caring about win rate a very long time ago, (even before this game) since as far as I’m concerned, it makes a game far more stressful and salty then it needs to be(seriously, how is a Omaha+ Kirov a fail div? And Kirov is definitely not a bb by any means) all I care is acquiring Yamato and being decent enough to make a impact. -

BBs using HE? Blasphemy! jokes aside though, I find that there is no shame in firing he, especially if the most dangerous target is siting sternly bow on to you. A good example I had recently involving bb he in battle is a bow on Tirpitz, he has low hp aready from engaging other ships, and there is me in the fuso and a Colorado with me, obviously engaging in a brawl with any German ships is a suicide really(KM ships in a nutshell from my encounters: MUH ARMOR MUH SECONDARIES MUH TORPEDOS MUH IMMORTAL CITADEL). my first volley: all bounces REEEEEEEE Colorado engages in a brawl with Tirpitz, got his face stuffed with torps and blew up. 2nd volley: all bounces REEEEEEE me: screw this im loading HE tirpiz after 3rd volley:WTFBOOOOM -

So far so good, not playing as much these days due to family gathering, so have keep all my cousins occupied :P. It is also pretty clear on the differences in their life vs mine, since they pretty much do nothing but studying their entire life, so much so they never heard of this, or even anything else really, so much so when I asked one of them about Yamato, she has virtually no clue about that(me:), till I included the discription that it’s a battleship(also need to explain what the hell a BB is, since she thought BB=that giant Chinese CV), very big, made by Japan, and fell to a lot of planes, only then she understood what I’m talking about. AND SHE IS NOT EVEN INTRESTED IN THAT. I honestly thought about finding a way to send her to gulag, then decided that it’s not worth it since she would not even know what gulag even is. Again it proves that video games actually give you more knowledge and even important life skills then schools and books ever give you. Well as of now, I have reached t5 with all ship classes except for dds, with fuso still being the only t6 as of now. Currently working on getting t6 flat top carrier and getting out of kriov’s stock hull. also overpens everywhere reeeeeeeeee I have seen some vids by flamu, and others, but never actually seen this tactic of just simply charging down the missle with the fuso until you showed me that vid. I have always played it out by following the cruisers to a cap at the sides of the map, then finding a island near a cap and do the swinging the tail thing until they die or we get overrun. Also 9km does sounds extremely close, but with that said the only deletions I have done in the past was basically 8-11km ish range, so may take a look into that. Still not entirely sure on how to deal with other bbs in a fuso though, yes it has 12 guns but they feel they lack oomph vs even same tier bbs (they are still the same size as kongo’s after all, but need to face even more durable higher tiers. Plus they behave more like a shotgun) -
I was looking around to see how demolition expert(DE) works, and wheather it is worth it or not on the Russian cruisers. I have used the search function, and got nothing, while the word DE got unrelated stuff everywhere. So decided to ask here to find out how DE works, if it is added on or makes virtually no difference at all.

I'm doing okay so far in the fuso, just asking is there anything else that I can improve on it, since the fuso guides that I can find here are generally outdated. If needed, I can try to get a replay up here in my fuso if possible. currently using main battery, damage control 1, aiming systems 1, steering gears 1(not entirely sure if I should go with damage control 2, but rudder shift has saved my stern multiple times, and making swinging out and in to show my rear guns easier and safer). captain is more towards making semi brawler-yamato(my theory is that with those 460mm guns, you should be able to lolpen most charging ships through the bow while they are unable to do the same to you, if all else fails go banzai cause derpy cheek armor) while still being usable on all of the ships without too much issues so currently it has the more catapult aircraft skill, expert marksman, basics of survival, concealment(may think about dropping it for manual secondary skill, or fire prevention), future skills are Adrenaline Rush, Superintendent(but also thinking of dropping it and going with jack of all trades/high alert, last point goes to priority target in this case), Advanced firing training. *small rant about service+ammo costs* dafuq is idea with repair cost, my mind went into full potato mode (there is a limit on how much I can focus in one battle, and going past the limit makes me go full potato) one battle and i died doing basically nothing except for blowing half of a dd hp, before with kongo i can still get away with some cash gain, now I simply lose cash, so does it mean that I must train myself to not go full potato at all just to earn cash? also I have checked the official data for the service costs and for yamato is 180 000 credits per battle, come on WG if I want to play nothing but yamato then let me do so plz. Also games I have played in the past with this system of repair costs always have issues with player retention in some way or another, both new and old, and often churn through players much faster or lose vs other games as a result due to the fact that it is harder to stockpile cash for future purchases. I mean, look at dreadnought in 2017, it has basically lost everyone when the repair costs system is added, along with several other bad decisions such as heavily increased grind(haven't visited it since then, may take a look in the future) Whatever, those are just pixels and bunch of '1's and '0' on the screen anyway, wouldn't affect my life much. I suppose I can simply grab yamato and move on. /rant

Did say Lyon only satisfies part of it, but we do have AR,
-
Atlanta has dd turrets for its main guns, never actually seen a Lyon until after this post lol, was queuing while looking through fourms(holy moly 16 guns) but all of them bounced off my fuso’s armor lol. the only true dakka however is when you have lots of big guns+high ROF, lyon satisfies that to a certain extent, Atlanta doesn’t :P
-
More like turrets everywhere. 12guns seems to be the max limit here.
-
Thanks guys for the tips :D. For those who think I fight at max range, I just take potshots at them as soon as they show up on radar(generally missing in return lol)and often thinking ships are slower/faster then they are, having RNG shitting on me constantly(every shell lands around a omaha REEEEEEE)and target’s actually having brain cells so they don’t sail in a straight line. I aim to fight in 15-16km ish areas, but if I have to brawl, then I shall brawl. It may still be the only ship with a citadel, but as I say, the more outlandish the plan, the less likely the enemy will have a clue on how to stop it. So far has worked in other games(I have managed to sneak a 2km long space battleship to the side of the team, and Kill off the entire enemy team, only because they are not expecting a 2km long spaceship to do that). bounus points if the guy in question never expected GLORIOUS SECONDARYS mode from Yamato. Does playing with my brother’s destroyers count?
-
Kantai Collection, they have a set of music playlists somewhere you can buy, bought some CDs on the last trip to Japan :D.
-
Hardbass when I play Russian ships, some music from kancolle for IJN ships. Seems to work for me.
-
Ahhhhhh, now I understand how the hell he survives those encounters now lol XD.
-
Can a shell over pen a citadel? I heard that ohama is a floating citadel, looked at the armor viewer, to see where it is, fired at it in battle but did not get any hit, only time I get one is when he is angled towards me I just simply Lolpen it. May also explain how the hell my brother survives those encounters.
-
RNGods cares about quality, if you don’t provide him quality then he will doom you to 100 years endless detonations.
-
well, im technically more used to where the "1" key is the first ability button, in other games I have played, not moving the bloody carrier around(I have died several times because I thought I moved by fighters to point B, instead i sent my carrier in the middle of the enemy team lol.) sooo is the only way to fix this is to rebind the scheme completely, or something else, if I need to rebind it completely, what is the keybinding is for it called. also how to switch camera so that it views the carrier like with other ships? i find regular camera is better in terms of torp evasion.(harder to tell which end is the front in the birds eye view)
-
issues: a) I don't have a virgin game developer to use as sacrifice b) I'm sure there is a difference in meaning in [SCRUB] clan and scrubs as in players with err...suboptimal brain cells. Also stalin is the one who sa...*detonation*
-
Ok now another problem, key binding is better now, but fighters still think they are “group 2”, and I rely on audio cues to tell the status, how to fix it?
-
Thanks mate
-
I say on a more consistent level, I can predict that I can get hit in the citadel in the oddest place possible once every 3-5 games or so, or have ammo detonate on me after a torp hit on a bow every now and then, while my brother can go point blank with a bb with the floating citadel and still somehow the bb would miss his citadel, before He shoves a volley of torps up the bb’s stern. not sure what he would make of the Pepsi can(Pensacola) though, if a 263m Yamato can be seen from the next continent, the 178.5m pespi can be seen from the next continent’ beach(cause logic), and has no torps, bb esq turret turn speed. Oh, and according to peeps here, also a floating citadel, probably worse cause she can be facing amagi’s glorious 12x410mm shell
-
*just got hit in the citadel serveral times though the bow/deck in a fuso, while my brother keeps evading shots, getting away with point blank duels in what is effectively a floating citadel that is the ohamha* .................. (That said, my brother is not dumb, he knows when to run and not show broadside as well)
