Hence the funny icon. As with subs, we will get mines. They have been implemented in some operations, so... Same as S-boats (squads of coastal torpedo boats) and such. Forts on islands that shoot you... convoys (!) But, it wouldn't be all bad. Convoys were good fun! Subs could be an actual interesting thing, and good for the game, if not FFd up... Subs should be much less toxic than CVs, as they at least have to be in the area to send their ammo. Somehow though, the risk-vs-reward mechanic doesn't ring any bells at Weegee office. As such - seems to me the devs are deaf, drunk and/or do not play their own game. -

Apparently WeeGee claims every drunken dribbly fantasy sketch of some admiral to be "historically accurate ship". With that we'd be back to Habakuk being historically accurate (and even partly tested). I think we both will agree that, even when it REALLY was built, the DD would have been refitted with ASW. Maybe pykrete bombs or some form of vodka-barrels, but they'd have done it as necessary. Unless the Russian admiral had some quarrel with the captain, maybe. -

I hope he doesn;t think that is historical though, but well, you never know. In 250 years people might find a copy of WoWS and think this was actually true. -

Well yes that sketch looks like the Okhotnik as in game, I do see that. But it is not the real-life Okhotnik, a sketch/proposal is hardly "historically accurate". Else we might as wel get Habakuk. Oh wait, let's not give WeeGee any more "smart" ideas... -

Hahahaha are you now arguing about WeeGee history being accurate? The Okhotnik in game is not the actual ship as it was built in reality... but a later fantasy version. -

True. @YabbaCoe why not share what your objective is with this guided-torpedo-stuff. The community might have better ideas how to get that done than your devs, so it seems. Looks to me like you testing a weird idea, you fail (they hate it), then find an even weirder idea. Hell you could even have a "design contest" and reward a premium rare ship or something. Make requirements to enter that people play at least 50 sub games and 15 sub kills, or something. -

Ah, but sometimes you MUST hunt a DD (which is kinda crap...) so sometimes you also must hunt a sub. Maybe CV layers finally get some karma, hunting subs... -

That is what I have said as well. I'd gladly trade the rockets for ASW planes/bombs. Rockets were never there before the Reework, and they're quite unnecessary. -

This is usually how I try to do it. The only counter is actually an enemy CV. If you can just spot him, and let your team deal with him it's a free harvest after that. Quite sure I can rack up 300K+ (in T6) if I don't FF it up. Fun and balanced...

Well, at one point in the tests they were on the money. I would have actually liked them, just a few tweaks. And then they FFd it up.

I don't really see how it can get worse than it already is, but maybe I'll find out... I think WeeGee screwed it up good. In some tests, I felt like they almost got it right. And now this is what they do... ugghh...

Exactly, and it is really crap. I have now torped a DD, a CL and a BB. Easy peasy. The only thing that can kill me is the enemy sub, really. Or if I FF-it up. Now I'll try go for the CV... If they use DCP, just ping them again. man it is just like fishing. You dump torps if anything is within reach, then start pinging. Something will "bite". It really is dumb AF. The only thing I think is fun is to try and cap, would be more fun if they dared to hunt you. But DDs are thinking "yeah right FF that", and rightly so. Anything else is just food.

Actually he is right, but it would be comparable to DD torps that were perfectly aimed at the distance when you pressed DCP. So, if that is 4km... well they are quite fast, too. So good luck with that... Also, ping reload at T6 is 7,5 sec for the US subs and 6sec for the Germans. A T6 sub can send out a HOMING ping every 6-7.5 seconds. Good luck DCP-ing that as well. The "usual" sonar-ping (spotting-consumable) is every 15 secs... runs for ~45 sec and reload for that is ~1 minute.
