    CVs are Overdue an Overhaul…

That is still a thing. If you play a CV, the other side will also have a CV. Chances are that, if you cannot hop over the skill gap, a bad CV player will lose. EVen so,m the general CV WR is much higher than any surface ship. Bad CV players are probably the only thing that is hated more than a good one. A good omne, the victims on the reds hat you and maybe you get -3. Maybe -5 if you got a kraken. A bad one, your WHOLE TEAM hates you and you get -10. Plus -1 from the only one you killed... Now, a question. If it were me (mildly savvy potater...) against Masterrr @El2aZeR in a random team. Who do you think might win if we had no CV, both in BB or whatever? And who do you think might win if HE had a CV and I was in a BB? Or REVERSED? And who do you think might win if we BOTH had a CV? I think he'd win every time, maybe I have a small chance if we both have a CV and my team is a bit better. But the only chance I'd win is if I was in a CV and he was not.

T7 Brawls - What to play then?

It is kinda in the middle on stats, and yes it is not the best ship ever. And yes T9 is a pain... as for most BBs. For example, Hood lacks range. And then what happens is you get burned down by those T9 supercruisers, who outspot you, outrun you and out DPM you. However...check this (yup, mine)... AKA It can't be that bad, since I usually suck.

T7 Brawls - What to play then?

I have it too, it is basically a French BB with speedboost and all the guns in front. I'd say it is a pretty good choice. Quite accurate and fast, too. Think of a small Jean Bart.

Maybe you could just FF off then and go cry somewhere else, nobody needs your "super accomplishments" here anyway. Meanwhile I'll be just quite average and have fun, in CVs and indeed all the rest of the ships.

Well, if it is any consolance to you, I plasterfarked a Nahkimov yesterday. T10 game, and I went through the middle channel on Two Brothers map in FDR. Somehow I even got +1 karma, probably from the player that saw I was just trolling and still FF-ing that Nahkimov. In the end he escaped with 500HP, after capping their home cap I just started whacking him...

Is it a record? Solo Warrior 1 vs 7

Yeah I'm not concerned about karma either (else I would not play CV). Just wondered how it worked, as you should get more than 3 from that game! Obviously we'll never know, you might have got +7 and -4. Well, it is Enterprise... so... OK it it still was damn good. I'd not be able to do the same. Yeah man, hats off there. I know I'd have ff-d that up for sure. It is that kind of BRILLIANT games that you play ths game for. Usually it is facepalm-worthy, but luckily there are GEMS like your game to keep us going.

Is it a record? Solo Warrior 1 vs 7

Ah that explains it. I was already thinking I might have lost my ability to count. Sometimes it happened, got complimented lots of times, karma number rose by only 1. Yeah, sometimes... very very rare...

Is it a record? Solo Warrior 1 vs 7

I know, you told so - but I have NEVER seen something like : You got complimented You got complimented You got complimented You got complimented You got reported You got reported ....making me think it is a "net result". There must be matches where some think you did good, and others think you sucked (or hated you).

Well, usually they eat 3. But this one was going fast and ate 4. I think I had one that ate 5... Yup, it's in there (Smaland). For me it isn't that unusual and actually I find it easier than killing them with rockets. They're dead much quicker. Mostly though they see me coming, they thing "oh he has torps, screw him he'll never attack ME with torps". It is very very easy with Kaga and Midway, and with Ark Royal it is quite feasible. Rest only have 2 torps which makes it harder. Works with most DDs, I'll even do a Kleber with FDR, it has such a crapton of torps they cannot avoid. Some of these tricks you can also do with Ise (also has 8 torps). Which I did a lot in CB when it was T6. Every game 1 or 2 DDs killed. The line up What I do is first I send him on a course parallel to an island or something by dropping behind them, or in front. This drop will not kill him, but "line him up". Then, when he can only turn one way, the next one is accurate. Sometimes they smack into an island while avoiding the first set... in which case you can torp them with the second set when they are reversing. Or hold the drop until he actually crashes into the island (pic below, the one on the right did that). To do it with FDR requires some "he did not know what I was trying" from the DD, due to the loitering. Open sea When they are in "open sea" you have to do it by first getting the torps "completely focused" and then turning in. Basically you start the attack "alongside" and then when the torps are focused you turn in to him and launch across his path. Works well when they think you are attacking a BB and not them. usually they just do not expect you to pull that stunt. I think that is how I got this one, not sure. Surprise attack This one requires that you know where he is, or a teammate has him spotted. I start the attack behind a mountain... they won't see that I have started... torps have focused... BINGOOOOO! They eat at least one or two. Sometimes 4. Smoke Of course you can also torp them when they are in smoke. They won't see it coming either. This one was good, I managed to sink the one on the right, he crashed into the island and then he ate the lot when reversing. His mate on the left also ate two torps. Almost managed to sink him too with the next drop. Teammate KSd him. I'm sure you have done some of those tricks yourself, though. Here's some more:

I'm nor sure, sometimes I think WeeGee only shows you the net result. As in, you might have gotten +6 but -3.

It did not, really... just the skills needed have changed.

Is it a record? Solo Warrior 1 vs 7

Is that the result of all your teammates complimenting you and most of the reds hating? You deserve 11 karma for a game like that!

I had the issue for a long long time, or maybe it is just RNGesus hating me. FRD, launches a zillion rockets, 1 hit, incapacitation... mannnnnn!!! Same thing with bombs, so I have resorted to just torping DDs. At least that works. Haven't tried that yet. Any good? Or is it "OMG NOOOOO"?

...except I was too lazy to put CAs and subs.

Is it a record? Solo Warrior 1 vs 7

Excellent stuff, also well done on the video. Very dry comments LOL. I have done 7 kills with Ryujo but there were some of the team left, although in the end that was 5 vs me. Then I had to kill all 5 of them to win... (already killed 2...) It was on 2 Brothers map and I went through the middle in the CV... that was hilarious... yes, zero karma... But I think 1 vs 7 is a record. Very well played, I bet you got zero karma too hahaha!
  16. BLUB__BLUB

instead of the usual 2 teams

Yup, it was. It had sort of monsters in the water (submarines?) and you had lasercannons and some sort of "heal" that you could spread around. Showing that WeeGee CAN DO something toxic and make it fun... but alas they don't do it in 'real' WoWS. Here's an idea: How about making FIVE teams? One would be all the BBs, one would be all the DDs, one would be all CVs...
  17. BLUB__BLUB

instead of the usual 2 teams

Yes they did, I call it backstabber mode. You can actually div up with a few clanmates, then disband the div in game, and select some others - make a wrecking team....
  18. I saw @MacArthur92 in battle, well he did see me as well (and yes... he did) We were both not in a CV... But our team won heheheh.

    CVs are Overdue an Overhaul…

There's more, but only Masterrr El2 can explain that. I find FDR great when you have a loooong game, best is if your team is kinda tarter, but theirs is as well. Then you can just farm, farm, farm... but if the game is short (and nowadays... they are...) FDR is just plain bad.

    CVs are Overdue an Overhaul…

Well that explains why |I do not understand why it is called "power". IMO when you have power, then you have power, and it is not something that can work as a disadvantage. Yes, that too. What you can do is attack at the moment you see fit. With FDR, you MUST wait... so, suppose he has one fire... and then you dive on him, he presses DCP. What happens is yes you get damage (assuming you can aim) but NO PERMA. But you have no choice. Once you attack, well, the next attack will be in 30 secs. And go back to CV and get new planes... takes looooong flight time. And you MUST loiter... which is often for nothing (teammates have already set 3 fires to that BB since you are spotting him...). Good luck on coming back with torps too if you brought bombs (it will be wayyy too late). In Haku (or Midway) you can: 1. be at the CV, or in air, then get quickly to a target that has just used DCP; 2. Dive on him... if he uses DCP... you can attack from the other side pretty soon.... 3. You can also trick DEF_AA, avoid, then fly aroud (outside 6km) and attack from other side... 4.... or even pick another one first, and come back when his DEF_AA is on cooldown.

    Research Bureau picks

I can't count how many underscore is in your tag, so not stat-check performed, but well. If it is any help: I have Ohio, quite satisfied with it. But to me it is also a replacement Montana since I constantly regrind that line. And that means I can use it in CB (if needed), also it has nice credit income, and so on. I'd not call it spectacular. But it is good, and IMO slightly better than Montana. To me, it is useful (even if I play mostly Colombo in CB). BUT... never play DDs, still got the Paolo Yolo and yes it is hilarious, even if you do not play DDs. And that means, I am a total potato, AND have no experience with DDs... but still liking it. A LOT! I have no regrets getting that one, as I already have plenty T10 BBs anyway.

True. That is one of the things I am lacking, I dunno which one to go aggro at. However I think he might mean farm 250K damage, not "just" 150K - or he means 2 or 3x the damage that the enemy CV farmed. Seeing that he kills 5 or 6... he is just in another league there. However it is possible (even for me) to just outfarm the enemy CV by such a margin that it is an auto-win. As in, I kill 3 (or bring them near death so they get KS'd) and he hardly manages to get damage in. I've seen it often, for example take Kaga, get a T10 game, do >100K. The enemy CV just complains in chat, loses all his planes. Which is not exceptional at all.

    CVs are Overdue an Overhaul…

Ah, so OP as in "having match control". Depends on the circumstances. It is the best farmer of plebs, so to speak. But indeed it is the worst in map control. BVsically it is only good for farming hapless unsuspecting plebs. But... you get A LOT of those in the average random match... just hope they are not all in your team... Allright. I'd still think that "excessive match influence" works two ways, as in: if you get a tater CV, then the match influence is crud. So, that also would mean that "overpowered" could turn into a power-deficiency, because there is always a CV at the other end. Yes it would. Also it's not my idea, lots of experienced players were suggesting, nothing was done with it. I think a most of the problems that we had with RTS were solvable. There are also many solutions for the current Reeeework. WeeGee may have had different reasons (console, not popular, whatever). Fact remains that the Reeework solved some problems but it also brought its own, and probably they are worse. I like the visual much better and also it works much bettter (RTS always gave me many @^@@^#2). But the actual mechanics are just broken. You would not believe how far my eyes popped out when I saw "damage to last plane first" and "auto-refill of shot down planes"... Something like that indeed. If you get a team of reds that have some stupidos, you are golden with the FDR. Because what you'll do, you find that spotted stupido in his fat BB, you set a perma (flooding/fire) and you farm 100K. Then you find the next, another 100K. And another. You will farm 300K and 5 or 6 kills in the process. FDR = great farmer. But, suppose you have a team of savvy reds... now you have a problem. Because they might be clustered, and you will lose a lot of planes (not with Midway/Haku). And now, you cannot strike the most farmable target but you must kill/strike a certain specific target. And most of times, you cannot do it with FDR. It will cost you much more time and probably also many more planes. As El2 already said... there is the weakness. Now... imagine you are in FDR, random team vs another random team, but one team is actually decent. What happens when yours is the crud one. With Midway/Haku you CAN save the match, because you can asses which ones are a threat (I can't...) and then just kill them. With FDR you cannot kill them fast enough. So in FDR, that ends up a short match with you getting 35K damage in and a loss. With Midway/Haku you might fight a losing battle, but you'll rack up a big score. Now, if yours is the better team. You will have a fast match, as the other team just crumbles. In FDR you cannot score high as it is slow. You will get no damage in. A win, but 30-50K. In Haku/Midway you can farm the targets at the back of the map, because the planes are much much faster. I know this: you are now in the impolite ignoramus unconstructivus box. Goodbye & good riddance!

True, however that will be the same handicap for every potato. The problem is that somebody who is a bit savvy will drop torps in such a way, thet he is lined up for his buddies. Giving him the choice: eat my torps or show broadside to my two divvies in a BB. Not so sure about that. As masterrr El2 once explained, the pure damage farming race is also a winning factor. If you manage 150K you will have some battle influence. It is easy too, if you keep an eye out which ones have used DCP. And if RNGesus is your friend, well...

Because Nahkimov requires less skill. Those Russian Cvs you do not need to worry how the rest f your squad is gonna survive. It is not dump-and-run, it is just dump-dump-dump. You can throw the load so far away that you do not even have to lose a plane. Where even with FDR, if the cV player is stupid or meets a handy Halland... no such problems there. I think that I understand what he means... could be wrong... but this CV, you only have to learn one trick...
