Nah most random DD players are food. I usually leave them alone, only the ones that are apparently lucky or good I try to take. The average ones die in 5 minutes, and when I chase them, yes I will spot them but usually do not kill them. Reason being they were about to be killed anyway so when I spot them, to he moment I drop the ammo is when my teammates kill them so that is worthless. The better/luckier ones are a challenge, and if they need to die (because they are good) they are REALLY a challenge. because often they refuse to die like a good DD (LOL) so I have to actually spend time and tricks. And yes that game I'll have absurd low damage like 35K in FDR hahahaha but I will get them (well, usually). Sometimes though I do not bother because the team is sooo crap it will not help anyway. And then I just try to farm damage to save some XP. Doesn't make CVs any less broken though. Basically you can do as you wish. Sometimes I even go after the enemy CV. (when you need to kill the most dangerous player... often it is the CV)

Eh well, with FDR I drop a sh...load of bombs on a DD and then I get "1 incapacitation", duh. So yeah I can drop him but he'll just laugh. Need torps to kill him defo. With Audacious I do get hits, but the problem is I usually lose too many planes to Halland. I cannot kill him before he eats all my planes. Maybe I'm doing it wrong though.

True, but at least it is fast enough to take advantage. Germans are fast too but their armament is a bit crap. Brits just get mashed by Halland.

TBH FDR cannot do it much either, it is slow AF. I'd consider Midway best of all, and after that the IJN.

Nahkimov is busted because (as he says) all you have to do is drop in time (=6km) and you'll hardly lose planes. So what you can do is farm at your leisure, and if your team is any good, they do not require help or carry, yeah then it is just up to RNGesus what your score will be, and that's that. You'll not, because it cannot spot, also it cannot do fat strikes. For example he whines about the Halland - but the Halland was spotted. He dropped him from 6K... so yeah, he didn't lose planes that much. Now imagine that Halland was unspotted and needed to die - he cannot do it.

This, plus: - AA damage actually gets done to the last plane (the one that is harmlessly circling above...) - When an attack plane is shot down by flak, it gets insta-replaced by "on of the spares from above". - Spotting is done no matter what, and free to all the team. - 2.5km detection from air for DDs... (related to the insane spotting). - "fighter planes" from CV....

Wut only one kill? Did you at least ram him?

I saw @Nibenay78 today in some weird ship, we were farming like mad but we still lost. I roasted one of those same strange ships a bit, pre-fried a Haragumo, baked a Minnesota. And that Yammie. Thanks for helping me to a fat IJN roasted Yammie, mate. That Yam killed him though. I kep on BBQing him. I tried to kill the yam after with Yolo-torps after, and would have, but he got blapped before my torpies hit. Next time I hope I'm in FDR...

Actually it is on the luck of the ship that took 12K of you. He must have been lucky or you quite unlucky, or something. As the Russian CVs are the worst against DDs, sort of. But yeah the spotting... I do not think there is a CV player that wants that. It serves no purpose for the CV, in contrary. I wouldn't mind if WeeGee gave only minimap spotting.

You should get Ise, man those torps can get any CV down. You'll not manage to hit all of them though so it takes 3 flights. But once you have him spotted.... maybe you can use the guns as well. Maybe also with Tone.

Well, how bad can you be in a Stalingrad (find waifu, nose in, go blapblap). But i agree it will be a wast for any other game mode, that is why I didn't get it. Sometimes (as in 1 of each, like past CB...) it is handy to have it.

Yes, when you follow two divmates with a DD and a CA it is daaaaamn handy. Mind the average damage is "average". I get around 80-100K in a game. But average, I get blapped (duh) so that is why. Because they can sort of "shine" when they play sole (they have no friends) Ehh.. I suppose it has something to do with Clan Battle. But since everybody has it, I do not.

Got a Quacken, gifted by RNGesus... poor sod in the DD (he would have died as I had the HE ready but still...). I mean, I play CV so I am a meanie, and I play Ise which is even worse, but ONE secondary shell and a detonation... Oh and yes I also killed their CV....

Well hold on, there will be SOVJET CVs with jet planes, as well... I do not think it is good for the game or even funny. But reason I started playing CVs is that I knew they'd put them in CB, too. And if you do not have anyone that plays CV then you are just fooked. There's only some that I think are reasonable. But it is a must-play, as WeeGee has decided so. BTW spreadsheet is BS. Here's why. We had a (hang on) 34% WR Ryujo player today on our team. His average per game was 8K damage. And yeah we lost, bigtime. But total CV WR did not change... because the other side also had a CV... If you killed 12 planes that is not "without damage". He must have felt that in the rest of the game, but for you indeed it was no help. If he killed you in 3 strikes though: A - you must have been out of luck (RNGesus hating you); B - ...or not been so good at avoiding those bombs. I manage to avoid most, in a BB... C - you can bet your @$$ he was bothered... you must have been an important target. But really you do not kill many planes because he drops from FAR AWAY. If he comes closer you wil kill ALL OF HIS PLANES. It also means you get some time to avoid whatever he dropped. But, that is also part RNGesus and you could have been unlucky there. BUT It has not. It has the best AA for a DD, and that is different. Although, if I know there is a Halland in game I do not even go close in FDR (only if I must do it). I'd rather go for a Montana, or whatever fat BB. So it is still worth something. What it means is that, if you SHUT DOWN AA (so you get detected at 2,.5km), and then (at the moment when it is too late for him to pull out) press "O" and ENGAGE DEF_AA as well.... Then you will kill at least half the squadron (maybe all) of an FDR and you will CERTAINLY kill the whole squad of the Russian CV (because they are much more flimsy than FDR planes). And that is why the Russian CV drops from distance. His planes are flimsy, and they do not re-grow that quickly.

People do. Most in my clan have dabbled or do mess around with CVs. The problem with them is you have to get a sh...load of XP not to lose credits. Indeed I am. But it is not that I am "that good". Most CV players just suck heaps. Well, if I make a mistake, a Halland will eat all my FDR planes and rest of the game I'll be sore. Because they do not grow back that quickly on FDR, and you have large squads which will be hit by Halland flak. So will those Russian planes. I do not have that CV, but the only way he can get your Halland is by launching at distance. Which is still annoying. But why do you die from that? That, I agree on. Instead of making them more challenging and rewarding, they just make them more potat. I think they do not understand that it is no fun to play "nuke the map with one button". The more easy they make it, the less people will like them.

Come up against one of those tier X Russian CVs in my FDR, they lost, miserably... First I helped my team kill their DDs (which he couldn't... or didn't) then farmed a Shiki and two of those fat T11 b'stards. Meanwhile also murdered their Montana. I got a +1 karma.
