IMO, even when there is plenty to complain about WeeGee, as it is, any 3rd party mods not working or giving crap is not their responsibility... just saying. It is like buying a car, then lowering it to 1 cm above the ground, and complaining to the manufacturer it hits bumps.

Marlborough - what an ugly experience!
BLUB__BLUB replied to Allanagtig's topic in General Discussion
Might have missed that one, thought it was a premium DD... (and you know... me and DDs...). But it is second-from-last for WR in the stats, as well as lowest in damage.... ; https://wows-numbers.com/ship/3740153648,ZF-6/ Where Repulse is 2nd highest in damage, and a bit above average in WR. https://wows-numbers.com/ship/3743365072,Repulse/ -

That is why I got Repulse for free and did not get Marlborough... Usually the "small reward" ship is worth it, the fat one P-T-W is not. The only one that was any good is Puerto Rico. Rest is rather MEH. -
Marlborough - what an ugly experience!
BLUB__BLUB replied to Allanagtig's topic in General Discussion
Play it like a French BB. Or a fat cruiser. Here's my stats, a few games so far but it's good. Then again, I seem to do well in weird ships. And suck in the ones that other people like. IMO key is to keep enough distance (about 12-15km), and use shelter. Also: abuse the speed. Move in, give them the broadside while unspotted, go BLAM with those fat guns, kite away using speedboost. You should NOT move in to a whole bunch of ships... they'll kill you before you go dark. -
That is INDEED the broken thing about it. It doesn't really matter though if they "split into multiple shells". Might as well be one big fat bomb. I agree. The least they could do is remove the spotting for the whole team. What I suggest is they'd spot "as far as the ship can shoot" (same as gunbloom). For example, a DD that can shoot 12km, is only spotted by a CV for teammates that are in that 12km zone. Rest gets map spotting. This is a thing though. That is where CVs will always be different, due to the use of planes. There are ways to make ships and CV interact, and make it more risk vs reward. But WeeGee FFd that up. AA is not ineffective as such. WeeGee has Ffd up some mechanics, so now it is too easy (if you know what you are doing). Basically there are 3 problems: - continuous AA affects the LAST plane in the whole squad (it should affect the ones that ARE IN IT); - FLAK is actually 'controlled by the planes' (should be controlled by the player, or a random pattern) - when hit by FLAK there comes a replacement 'from above' so it is always a "full salvo" (there should be a "gap" where that plane was shot down). ...and THAT is why AA doesn't matter. Most CV players hate the auto-DCP as well. Also most CVs haven't got an armoured deck, they're just flat-top cruisers for the most part. Here's a chance though for those subs - have their "PING" disable CV repair. Then give the CV DC planes instead of rockets. That is what you do, when you have two naughties. You put them together in one room, and give them clubs to hit eachother. While they keep eachother busy... I can see a solution there. Win-win. You'll be disappointed. Most players just do not give a crap. They do not want GitGud. They just wanna go boomboom. Those are the ones that have a premium T10 (yes...) and they have blundered their way into T8, or thereabouts.

The ability to spot for the team is of no use at all to the CV. Yes it is annoying, yes it is toxic. But he can not even choose. You do not get any points, and if you do spot the enemy, the question is will your tater-teammates actually shoot or not. Constant guaranteed damage is not true. I've seen them, they manage to miss a parked up Yamato. In RTS you had auto drop, which made sure the drop/aim was at least somewhat decent. Guaranteed to be the last one alive is also not true. I've seen BBs move to A1 faster than a CV. Subs and DDs as well. But it CAN BE a CV. If he is the last one alive, it does mean he was not as effective as he could have been. He could have gone closer and done better. That is the same as a BB, but CVs are even better at "rear line sniping" than a BB. The thing is though, a CV doesn't actually take part in the battle - he sends his minions. And as such he doesn't risk anything - THAT is broken. The ability to change the direction of the ammo is probably OP. Similar to guided torps, or something. And then stacking damage. Mind I agree that CVs should be fixed, and what you say is part of it too. But that is NOT what makes a CV OP or broken.

A way to make CVs in sync with surface ships
BLUB__BLUB replied to FukushuNL's topic in General Discussion
I'll not miss the spotting if they decide CVs lose it. Because it means, no more "kill secured" after I just dropped the torpies... CVs get nothing for spotting. I bet my amount of kills will be way up without that damn spotting. -
Nah he got that last year.

Where are the people on all those ships?
BLUB__BLUB replied to anonym_ntfKigmJ0k9e's topic in General Discussion
Well, I was dumb enough to listen to a minute of it. But yes I know the type. Thing is, I do not think that I am better (or worse) than anybody else. And we all can learn. Verifyably though all that environmental crap doesn't help bubkus, but they still call you whatever. I'll install one of those James Bond devices. Eject... WOOOSSHSHHHH!! Also, I wonder if the roo-bar from a Rangerover would fit. And I can get away with it, because I have a Jaaaggggg... <insert Clarkson face here> -
Yes, it is not the same as the "main line" (and then we also have Paolo Yolo).

A way to make CVs in sync with surface ships
BLUB__BLUB replied to FukushuNL's topic in General Discussion
CVs are underperforming because they need to "stack damage". AKA they are low risk, low reward, usually. But if you know where it pays off then they are broken AF. You WILL get the reward, and make the risk even lower. The only reason CVs are underperforming is because players just... suck. -

BLUB__BLUB replied to FukushuNL's topic in General Discussion
Don't doubt it too much, as that is what I do with a T6CV in a T8 game... well, if that BB is dumb enough. -
It's not that pre-access though... this one you can get as well.

BLUB__BLUB replied to anonym_ntfKigmJ0k9e's topic in General Discussion
Yes it is like a pre-emptive strike. Nowadays you cannot be to careful, especially not when you are a large company, doing commercials and (basically) living of good publicity... do you think they are not at risk? Wanna bet? I got called everything including capitalist fascist swine polluter. Next time I'll think twice about offering somebody a ride... even if it rains like hell. Oh and also next time I'll go for the V8 with the compressor (LOL). Because I do not (yet) have to care about those SJWs. Although... a "company CO2 performance demand" may mean that I'll be forced to do it, else I'll be out of work...! It's not "meh" at all. I've seen people lose their jobs or contracts over this. Watch them SJWs... they'll find something to moan, it is their life goal. -

BLUB__BLUB replied to anonym_ntfKigmJ0k9e's topic in General Discussion
Yes you are right. But nowadays, that is probably a very likely answer coming from that stranger on the bus. Which means, he is also quite right in assuming it would lead to what he stated. Somebody once started lecturing me, I arrived by train and then I got into my car - he was waiting for the bus and I offered him a ride. It was about me driving a Jaguar and not an electric car et cetera. After being kinda flabbergasted, it ended up with me giving him the finger. The thing is (and he is right in this as well) there is a limit to the greed of capitalism. It all ends where the money runs out. But there is no end to virtue-signalling, at least not if you cannot give them the finger or punch them in the face. That said, I play this game for the ships - and not for the bloody mess and floating bodyparts. -
[Poll] How do you like new "Dirigible Derby" Tier X 12 vs. 12 game mode?
BLUB__BLUB replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
That "convoy" mode was much more fun. -
Yes. So much that I have difficulty saying how much OP they are. I'd consider OP, a ship that is "all normal" and then it has just insane fire chance. Or mega-slam-torps. Or idiot caliber. Or dispersion. Whatever. Can't tell about CVs, that is how broken they are. Well if you're finding chocolate eggs all over your garden, there must be an Easter Bunny, or at least something alike. Same as the dumpster fire that is CV, and we're not in denial. Just we are discussing how big that dumpster is, and if the fire is about to go nuclear... Yup it is totally fooked up. There is also no way WeeGee are ever gonna balance that, since they took away the mechanisms that could provide balance by interaction. The only thing they are doing now is "leveling the damage to a bearable level".
-
Actually they'd need to do as much damage as is considered "average". This they need to do in such a way that counterplay/negation is an option, not too hard, not too easy. If the hitting of torps is too easy and hard to avoid/negate... then it is a class that just "guarantees damage". This, we have already enough....

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
BLUB__BLUB replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Was robbed of my Kraken... three times! My teammate took the Ryujo, our CV took the Ranger... and Mackensen got sniped due to my spotting. Managed to kill the Fubuki with torps though, LOL. EH anyway a Quacken it is. -
Looks like they are selling tier x ships aswell
BLUB__BLUB replied to ___V_E_N_O_M___'s topic in General Discussion
When I was in Uni we used to calculate everything to "the price of a beer". And then we'd compare the LOL we'd get out of it. I still do that, and my conclusion is that for so many beers we'd also be getting f*cked... -
I've seen more like those, but mostly when I see Kearsarge it is already burning... in 3 places. Also, it is very easy to hit and can be spotted all over the map. Which is why I haven't picked it up so far. I am not a great fan of the US rocketplanes, either (I like torpies and bombs).
-
you'll like 'em... not. IMO they could be more toxic than CVs.
-
Yup. I play BBs and CVs, and cruisers. Seems like I can make them work in combination as well, even though I am potato.... Thing is, if I can do it (and really --> THIS is the item here --> I am NOT that good), then I think most people can. BTW If you wanna see how I got robbed THREE TIMES from getting a Kraken... WTF.... Also, watch what happened (while shooting that CA) to that Fubuki... (and yes I do that in a CV as well) THIS is why hybrids are quite good. Shoot one, torp the other... a good example of how to do it. Here: Nope they'\re mot low tier planes, they are T8. Similar to Kaga planes. The main thing is that the torps do only half the damage. Also, at T6 - good luck hitting all 8. The ships are just not than long LMAO. You can get about 5 on a parked-up BB or CV. If he moves, well, then you may be able to hit all of them. Well there is no difference there between CV or hybrid. If you know how, then you know. Dodging is only so-so. Watch the replay, and tell me if you think they'd dodge that... I think not. I think should/could be fine, but.... Also... well... Have a look at that replay, and then tell me if CVs are more powerful than hybrids. I beat both CVs by a mile - and that is quite usual. Well, it might be me. But... I'm not so sure. Check my stats why: I do much better in that Ise than in any CV. Lion is not the best... but do not underestimate RN planes. I wonder what they'll give, and how many, and what they'll drop. But hey this is WeeGee. A Lion hybrid might get anything. Eight T10 planes dropping torps. Or 10 Swordfishes dropping a sh... load of HE-carpet-bombs. Hell if they see money in it they'll give Harriers with guided missiles. Lancasters with Grand-slam bombs, delete Tirpitz! But my guess is, since they'd need to be floatplanes, they'll get Kingfishers.
-
Yup. It should be like this: Sub sitting in or UNDER the same smoke at PERISCOPE level OR surfaced, can detect the DD.
