LMAO well then it is easy, I'd rather play Condé than poor nerfed Henry...
-
I'm not saying it is NOT disappointing. it is the same though as a BB player complaining about Asashios and such. You better think twice about that great flanking move, and if he finds you well then you are screwed, just dodge...
-
Don't play those unless you are very good or have a deathwish. Also - when the CV is looking for you, find a place where his teammates cannot shoot you. If you are caught in the open, well you can see the planes coming on the minimap - you are screwed then. But whose fault is that? It is like, sailing around in a BB, you know what area a DD is usually going - but you still go there. And then you get perma-spotted by a DD you cannot see and cannot do anything about. While he is spotting you, his torpies are coming, and his teammates roast you nicely. Those DDs are at least capable of hauling @$$ but in a BB you're just gonna get farmed. And yes maybe in a DD you can dodge most of the stuff that gets thrown at you. Or go unspotted at some time. But you have to adapt to a CV in the game - you cannot play like normal. That's not saying CVs aren't broken, but there's a lot of stuff that you can avoid to do and be safer. Playing a smokeless DD is something that is a quid-pro-quo. You might get ludicrous speed, or a crapload of torps, or something. But it is the same as playing a Currywurst (secondaries galore), or a Yammie (fat overmatch). You just know what is gonna happen if you get certain MM and do certain things.

True. Due to playing CVs I manage to avoid most of the stuff they drop on me. Sure a good one will get me but it will take him time and I'll annoy the hell out of him. Depending on what I/he brung, of course. Lolorado vs Enterprise, well yeah. Still gonna cost him, but... Unfortunately I usually FF it up when facing off against a DD. So, I have started playing those now as well (but I suck).

Dropping a crapload of torps will work, anytime... -
Well yeah but that is what WeeGee likes best, eh.
-
Didn't check that yet, but I thought the weren't supposed to give any silver at all? So far I only played a few when they were on test.

I already did that with another CV, was quite easy... and got +4 karma. The thing is they forgot that when they make fast planes, which are not vulnerable to AA, those planes are also sort of invulnerable to CV-AA... so you kill the most influential ship... yup, the red CV -
Well, maybe I am wrong there - but I think when resetting a line you can use free XP to re-grind it? XP can be converted to Free XP... so re-grinding is less of a chore. So, farm XP with T11, and so on.

I do not have Hornet (yet?) but Kaga is quite good. Although Lexington... is probably as good as Kaga. Not for me though as I am addicted to spamming torps everywhere (I love Kaga...). -
Superships are a way to convert silver to XP, simple as that. And next you need to convert that XP into resetting lines, and get RP.

One other factor though, with faster planes you get about 2 spawns of FLAK, maybe 3. With slow ones, there's more time needed, so you get 4 or 5 FLAK spawns before you can drop. (in those super-CVs, FLAK might not even have time to spawn before you dropped and are gone). -
He should know better than to press battle alone...

Set up a divvy with some friendly clans. We have a few and what we usually do is set up a training room between CB seasons. I have no doubt we can set up a troll division. Never mind the "so many wins", just have fun. One Cv and a sh... load of Smolls.
-
How many CVs and subs can we use?
-
I'd welcome a nerf to spotting for CVs, might kill a whole lot more. Damn Kill-Securers... just when you dropped the last torps, and you are sure you'll kill him, they shoot...
-
I doubt that. It doesn't have rockets, which are IMO the most weak on CVs. And it is still a CV so it will be broken AF. Maybe less OP than others, but hey.
-
Well, because I play the damn things I know how to avoid them, too. Mainly though, with Chkalov you hit or you miss. You cannot keep anything spotted as the planes are flimsy. With other CV, if you do not hit, your team will (unless they suck). And then you try again, and again. Even if you miss all the time, you might make a ship think twice... and yes I tried that, too. I have a ZERO DAMAGE game in Kaga just on purpose. All I did was spot and make moves, and drop torps so they had to turn. We won it easily. Did not even end last... I just kept denying DDs any cover.
-
I have both, would say yes Chkalov is strong but less influential. Mainly this is because I like to use torpedoes to "steer" enemy ships (...broadside onto my mates). General: With one teammate in div: With two teammates: ...note that the damage that Chkalov puts out is quite good - but the options for co-operation are quite limited (IMO). For example you cannot keep a DD spotted AND drop him with torps so he needs to go straight (or a certain direction). BUT I quite like Kaga... which probably skews the numbers, as I like to use torpedoes - and with Kaga, you NEVER have to use anything else. Because you'll NEVER run out of torpedo planes with that plane-factory... but you need to be GOOD with torps, as they only give an advantage if you manage to hit ALL FOUR that Kaga has regularly.

thx Wargaming, great improvement.

I got +4 karma, while playing a Super-CV... Might have been because I killed the other CV, a supership and a sub though.- 7 replies

No, it would make Petro a requirement.
-
No need if you pre-drop. However it is only effective play if you manage to distract him enough. As he will keep on doing damage if he is not distracted. I find the determining factor is distance, in the end. If he is too far away, or if you have to fly a looooong way around his buddies - you can't do it, at least not fast enough. Also I got +4 karma after I killed the other super-CV... .
-
You definitely can. Depends a bit on what CV the reds have and what you brought, but you can. Especially if that is your only goal. Sometimes I do it as well, if i think it will benefit the team. Or if they try it with me...
-
Actually I am getting worse, I have now also joined the DD babbies. So far seems Cvs either do not like me, or maybe I just know what they like to do, and am not there... ...already killed 2 of them in the Paolo Yolo, BTW do you guys think that is an actual DD (or not..)?

Submarine extended suggestions after 200+ games
BLUB__BLUB replied to Yosha_AtaIante's topic in General Discussion
Some good ones over there. The "10 minutes delay dive" is good. Alternatively they could have a "crash dive consumable". The issue is, you can damage subs if they are ~5-6-7 m deep but due to the increased HP this is not really working anymore. I used to be able to just BLAP them with Lolorado when they were diving - and now I cannot. So it might be an effect of too much HP. Guided torps, I think they are bah. That ping should be used for "magnetic torps" on ships. Unguided, but more (citadel) damage if they hit. They'd need to pass UNDER the ship (less detection, like DW torps) and then when "active"(pinged) they go BOOM. But you'd have to aim them yourself. And yes that would go for hitting CVs as well. Maybe guaranteed flooding? It would also solve the DD issue... (they do not have citadel). But I think it is a really good idea to add the use of speed underwater to faster depletion. Ten minutes would be too high... some subs would then just live 10 minutes... others would hide for first 10 minutes and then use it. IMO it would be better to add "max capacity" and make it replenish on the surface. For example, 1 imute "down" = 2 minutes up to replenish. And higher tiers could replenish faster, and/or have more max capacity (and both could be buffed 10% by using captain skills).
