I hope you gave him a hard time. Also, you probably did or he must not have been very good to take all game to kill you. Also also... yes CVs could be made a lot better. T11 Cvs are no fun at all (and saying that while I have them both).
-
Might explain why they suck, but they do not suck more than in randoms. I prefer randoms because there are more potatoes to farm, and I have plenty ships to spam.
-
This, and after that first win, play Narai. Also - use the 21 point commanders in Clan Battle.

I have FDR and it is kinda shite. Mostly depends on how many taters you can find, good players can avoid it mostly. If you find a game of unaware taters and your team also is taters, then you can rack up quite the score. But... it is kinda meh. Since you are quite a good player I think you'll like Austin as it has a need for high skill. A challenge for you. Ragnar is kinda LOL as well but lacking torps to get that mega-damage. I always just run them down in whatever. The others I do not know.

It is kinda OP and, at the same time- it is not. Here's why: - yes it can drop at distance and lose less planes that way; - also if the CV is close it can launch a crapton of planes at you (because the CV is close). (...mind.... ANY CV can do that if he gets close). - yes he does a lot of damage. However I think it is difficult to hit them ALL. Chkalov: 4.6K x 5 torps = 20K but only 1 drop Shokaku: 7.2K x 2 torps = 14 K but you'll get 2-3 drops off... Kaga: 5.4K x 4 torps = 20K and yes you'll get 3 drops off. Lexi: 6.4K x 2.... et cetera. And here is why it is not: - you HAVE TO drop from far, the droppings are easier to avoid... and you can only drop once. - you cannot get close because the planes are flimsy (and no it does not have unlimited planes...); - and you also cannot "serial drop" to farm harder (AKA when ships used DCP, reset fire/flood). - you also cannot drop, spot, think a bit, and then drop again.... because you need to get back to the CV and re-launch. Victim might be gone or dead. - as such... you cannot really "steer the enemy away' from where you do not want them. I do that by dropping torps and "forcing" them in a direction. - also... you cannot "line them up" with the first drop so n the next drop wil go "all in". - you can also not "serial drop" AKA drop one ship, fly to the next, drop him as well, next ship... because only 1 squad. - the planes have a launch-booster, so over a short distance they are fast. Over longer distance, they are MEH. I find the Russian CVs pretty boring, but of course, being a CV, they are BROKEN AF. If you want something that is BROKEN as well as OP, then better take Kaga... ..or Lexington, as a matter if fact. Or maybe Shokek... You can't get Enterprise anymore, else that would be even more OP. Mostly though CVs are broken and it is just up to the player how badly he can abuse it. Mind this is me.... and I'm not that good, just a bit savvy. A GOOD player can do much more. And he will do it game after game after game.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

Yes, still plenty that do not watch the loading screen and fall for it... Well that is usually the way I die. You go to a cap with a bunch, and then they leave you alone (sink or decide to turn and/or hide). BTW I'd like to see a New Mex run... LOL. One of my favourite ships but "running"is not really an option. The amount of BLAP it packs though... -

Watch out for some of those fail divisions. We often do it. T6-CV + 2x T7-Sims, or 2x T5-Kamikaze + T6-CV... if you get the max uptier, it just means more XP to gain. Many fat T8 and T9 BBs have experienced that. -

Just doing some Kaga games with a few buddies... This is how many you need to kill to make sure you win. -
Easy to explain really. CVs = horse manure. Craps all over paper, scissors, or rock. Subs = elephant manure. Craps even harder on paper, scissors, or rock, or horse manure. Oh and then Superships are kinda like Amber Heard.

Roosevelt, Still the Terror of the Skies?
BLUB__BLUB replied to ________________Morrison's topic in General Discussion
Chosen by WeeGee zzkreeet Programmink to connect well after the FDR connected... I never managed to do that, as the planes are so slow. Then again.. .sitting in the channel on 2 brothers.... -

It is just what the others say. I'm not sure it is suitable for coop. Positive... it is GLORIOUS when you manage to whack 8 torps into the side of a BB or Stalingrad... oh the salt... But the thing is, he'd have no brain for that to happen. Then again... you can find enough of those, too... Also remember --->> you REALLY NEED to hit those 8 to get on level with the Midways 6... and the TWO from Hakuryu. Becaus you have a "loitering time" after every drop and meanh while Midway and Haku and everything else drops 3x more. And FDR is simply mega-kaka against DDs, except it can of course spot them very very long... for others to kill them. The insane plane HP is sort of negated by the insanely slow speed and the insane FLAK-gathering talent of those large squads. Long games are needed because the FDR planes are so damn slow. If your team or the other team potatoes hard, you have a problem. Because yes you can farm hard but it takes time to do those grand slams (if you manage). So, coop? I'd think not. That said, even while I play less CVs nowadays... yesterday easy one-handed 150K. We won because I farmed harder than the other CV. Granted it was because I found an FdG, a Shiki and a Yammy who apparently shared only one brain. Duh, maybe that's why we won. Yeah yeah I know... I'm evil... but I have to keep in shape , a bit. -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
BLUB__BLUB replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
After seeing @Muppeteer last time in an Aquila (and we were losing... he killed us all) this time we managed to get him. I had the honour of doing the deed. And I wasn't even in a CV... neither was he I dunno what tha F that was (it was a tough ship). It was a bit unfair though because I brought a divvy... and guess who was in there.... our local Mahan-specialist. -
They could - just that they'd need to get rid of exactly that. Risk vs reward, but WeeGee is really FF-ing that up. And it would me very very easy to fix. I think it would just take 2 or 3 experienced WoWS players to fix the whole thing.
-
That's what the rest said in my text. It would be more like a steel-ball cloaking device. Can't see them, can't even shoot them with guns, can't torp them, can't ram them.
-
I didn't know they had no dispersion. Right! I dunno why they are sticking with that homing crap. Just dump it, and fire the guy that came up with the idea.
-
It could easily fit the game. Might even bring more balance. But.... ... that's why it will just create more frikkin' crap. You are right. After two years there should be some improvement and "almost right in sight". What happens is they just make a bigger shitshow.
-
Maybe I'm mistaken, but they were HP-buffed quite a bit. But it comes from them being very hard to kill with the depth charges. Will open the game to check. Gearing has 19400 HP - Balao has 20K at T10 Benson 13K - Salmon 18K at T8 Farragut 12K - Cachalot 14K at T6. Of course there are DDs that have more, 24K for Paolo at T9. However... those are base-spec DDs as I do not have them , and I never play subs. The subs did have a LOT less HP before.
-
Of course not. CV masterrace can kill anything. Even I can kill them... It is harder to torp them though than the average DD potato. Because, they have more HP (great WeeGee balanz... duh) and they can move down as well. And while torps (and the rest) can still hit a DD in smoke, you cannot hit a sub that has gone under. They are also quite a bit smaller.
-
That's not true though, subs will have a terrible time vs CVs as those CVs can just run away and make sure they do not meet subs. The more subs are in the game, the more a CV will strike from distance - and also, the harder he needs to farm - before the subs eat their favourite food. At least that is what I do, I farm everything before the subs get it, and go to the area our subs go first. They'll spot targets for me... for once I get to yeet somebody elses target. Also they'll make lots of floodings which means I'll get some nice damage after the victim uses DCP. Plus usually they last longer than a DD, and will spot more. So, unless they make much much more interaction between subs-CV (and in real life, yes I know it is arcade but still, they were each others nemesis), it means they'll just add another quite toxic class while they had the chance to make the two toxic classes 'eat eachother'. A possible balance. As is now, the CV is the worst sub-killer. The sub is the worst CV-killer. How dumb.
-
They could be, easily done. 1. Change the torp activation distance so subs cannot yolo-torp DDs up close; 2. change the ping so distance where they stop torpedo-guiding is bigger. I'd prefer it if that homing-crap was deleted completely though. Just make PING go 'actively armed magnetic torpedo' which will explode under the keel. If you manage to get them under the citadel, MEGA-BOOM-DETONATION! But you'd still have to aim them yourself.

...which has been taken care of, as well. No program running on my PC is allowed to access the internet without approval... Sometimes a bother but it has prevented a lot of stuff that happened to other people. ... just scan whatever you have downloaded. It is a pity that some people, no matter if trying to be funny or scamming, try this kind of stuff. And then there's the kind that sends you crappy emails claiming they have taken over your webcam and such, or claiming you have some unpaid bills and are about to get arrested. Whahah. Oh LOL. Oh crap, too. Some people fall for that even if they are not with that energy-company or do not even have a webcam. Never had a virus and probably never will... Pity on those... but yes indeed WeeGee should take action. This kind of stuff should not be possible. However, I am used to WeeGee "taking it easy", so no surprise there, again. I do wonder at the kind of people that will program something like that in replays of a niche game though. Jeeeeezzz they must be such giant losers.
-
I do not see why this is an issue... and yes I know people are dumb. If somebody sends me a replay - it will be somebody I know. A clanmate. Maybe a forumite. I'd NOT look at a replay from a forumite that only has one post or that I haven't seen before. Even so: - the replay gets downloaded (there is the first choice); - the replay gets scanned by my "firewall" while downloading... - and before I open it, it gets scanned again for malware... - so... ??? Seems to me people are getting dumber and dumber. I even heard of one "far vague acquaintance" he got a virus on his PC, because he clicked on a link that was in an email telling him he had to pay something to his bank, and he is not even with that bank but a different one... and there were spelling errors all over the message, too. I mean... duh!
-
Thing is, after 2 years of testing... WeeGee still hasn't got the mechanics 100%. And yes the HP of subs is ridiculous. SHOULD be balanced after they have the mechanics 100% done. I imagine they'll tune down the HP a bit... though cannot be sure as they're making it a shitshow. However: DCs work, shooting works. Would not be a problem if subs had less HP. Or if the ammo would do more damage to them. Will be fixed? I hope....
-
We're talking Ryujo here, I'm quiite sure in higher tiers you can actually kill 11 and still lose. I have actually seen it happen, thing is they were mostly "kill secure" kills. He just could not get the last one.

Oooffff that is bad teams man.
