I did. CV got killed (after warning!) by a rampant Gallant, which killed a few more. Whatever they were doing down there on the left, didn't mean much... They all got smacked by that Cv and that Gallant. Nothing much we could have done. Duh. You choose to ignore numbers, after fisr claiming them to be relevant. There wasn't any skill disparity here. We'll check in game though which one turns faster. I hope it makes videos of training room games, will set one up with my div mate. I wasn't once lucky. But I'll post a few more of my Hood killing Gneisenaus. Meanwhile, the Gneisenau isn't the subject - Scharnhorst is. I'd certainly never take it over Hood. No way.

I haven't got any tier 8 yet... But it will be the first thing I try when I have a suitable ship. I like doing 'tricks'. I rammed the Schcorszzzccc into a wall and then smoked it up in the Leander... And this week we saved parks by just blocking him from going into the minefield... he followed real easy after that... ROFL... No he didn't we had to block him for a while. And on that Op where you have to shoot carrier 'King' I race ahead and get him dead she spawns (use Hood, 4 cits will do fine). Still have to think of a filthy trick for the OP with the airports, we manage but can't find any shenanigans yet. We did though... -
It was shot by my teammate once (he was after the Iron Duke and the Yorck), and then it finished off my teammate... Might remind you that I didn't start ful HP, and ate some of his friends torps? So, you mean there are actually bigger potatoes than me? IMO the evading part of Hood had more than a little something to do with it. That guy actually has ARP Hagumo... so not inexperienced... and T8, 9 and 10. And better winrate in his Gneis than I have in Hood (LOL). How about the four shots that all hit, when he was severely angled - I just shot 4 singles into his upper structure, and he missed all? Player being crap doesn't cut it. I'm at least just as crap. Duh. I'd rather say we cleared the whole right flank. As we went BC, to support the team (which was capping BC, and managed). Then their CV devstriked a BB. Their BBs went in on C, so we did as well. We shot the first Gneisenau. We destroyed their Yorck, while our cruisers were hobbling around at FG-line. It went wrong when they smacked our CV (who even got warned to relocte... Gallant got through... our fault?) We defended C and B, the second Yorck and the Iron Duke were moving in. So we moved in instead of a camping. I wonder what you call 'playing the objective'. That Gneisenau was a threat to my mate, who was killing threaths to the caps. IMO we tried, but after our CV died their CV and that Gallant managed to kill off most of the team. So? I think if we hadn't moved we'd have just been Gallant/CV fodder like the rest (they were cooperating well, must be said). IMO that is huge BS, we ruled the right flank, but the rest got steamrollered by a CV and a DD. If we had 'camped' we'd just have been next up for their whole team. The only thing we agree about there, is the max speed. I don't think Hood loses that much speed. And that rudder time is a lot, actually. Acceleration seems better too, my div mate (running the Gneisenau) usually spawns next to me. He also thinks the Hood is better... but I still wouldn't beat him in his Gneisenau (I think so, too). I can however, with Hood, beat any other equally potato player who picked Gneisenau.
-
Yeah, it would be a very good/bad idea. Depending on which part of the wallet you'd be. It would also prevent people... oh wait... MIGHT prevent people from buying a premium that is Not wat they'd thought it would be.
-
Yeah, tell me, why did that Gneisenau lose? So far I killed more of them than they killed me. It can't be my brilliant play. And yes he stopped (to kill my teammate in the Gneisenau, and he's pretty good... at least better than me). But I also gave him a rest, to blast that Yorck. And to take a poke at that Iron Duke. And to eat some torps... Didn't sail in having 100% health either (he had 100%). So, yeah why did he lose? Turning radius means Hood cannot turn INSIDE a Gneisenau. It doesn't mean Hood cannot be turning 180 degrees around quicker. I'd say if the Gneis doesn't have rudder shift and Hood has, Hood is quicker. Probably it also makes a difference who presses the button first. Hmmm... 13.4 sec minus 20% 10.7 sec on Hood, vs 14.7 form a default Gneis (that took Damage System CM2 in slot 4)? Well...
-
What they should do is 'rent-a-boat', get a ship for a week and have the rental-price discounted if you decide to buy it (or any other). Then, if you were interested you could try it - and buy if like, or save the discount for some other ship later. I'm sure they'd get lots of people interested and make some sales.

How about you just ram them, and give them a push? I do the same to that Schorszzzz captain to save him (it is also the trick to save Parks). If you ram them it makes them come to their senses and behave, it seems. -
Yet you call me sort of biased and spreading misinformation? LOL. Your opinion is just as much valid as mine. No less no more. (But I agree on the Nelson... and on Gneisenau being better than Scharnhorst. I'd still rather take Hood than Gneisenau, of course). Checked the replays, here's the endgame, me in Hood vs a full-health Gneisenau. Team was losing quickly, so well, might as well try killing as much as possible. Went after him because... well... he was in a fat juicy full health Gneisenau... and my Div-mate (in a Gneisenau...LOL) wanted that big fat juicy Iron Duke. I'm assuming (and I'm guessing probably I am right) the guy is not a bigger potato than me (He'd have to potato VERY hard, LOL). I went after him and he responded to the challenge, probably thinking he'd get me. Now tell me, he didn't try? Haha! And this is not the only game where this happened. I had one where I was even more close, even more fun too. Will try find the replay but it was a while ago so maybe doesn't work because of updates. Note - I am pretty sure Hood beats Gneisenau. But it is just MY opinion. Others may NOT like it, as I do not like KGV which everyone thinks is OP as hell (Duh, yeah, under Nelson and Lyon though ROFL). However, look at the easy avoiding of return fire. Look at the accuracy of Hoods guns. Look at the lolz dispersion of Gneis... I even ate some torps from his friends. Well, only right, I munched on another half Gneisenau before. Do you think a Gneisenau can do the same to a Hood? I think not. Since you'd like to see it backed up by numbers: Max AP dmg; Gneis 11,600x6 vs Hood 11,400x8, and multiplied by LULZ dispersion for Gneisenau (cannot damage Hood as bad as Hood can damage Gneis). Turning Hood = 910m, 13,4sec rudder shift. Turning Gneis = 830m, 14,7sec rudder shift... not outturning? The one that takes the -20% rudder shift wins. I did... Speed both 32 kts, so depends, who has the speedflag? Now do not forget that 10k HP health difference, and the heal (50% pen heal for Gneis, 60% for Hood) plus that heal is in percentage of max hit points. I'd say numbers back it up. So, I think Hood is better. A LOT. Have a look at my potato- Hood-game, at least you can be sure it's not the brilliant driver doing it. WARNING: 1.5 Gneisenau bit the dust there. You may find results disturbing... HOOD FTW.wowsreplay
-
You need to turn to the rear of it, I've done it quite a few times now. I do run the rudder shift thingy though. My guess is you just don't know how it is done, Hood turns much faster than Gneiseau - throttle vback 50% and open up when it starts to turn. BTW I'd not consider Hood much better than Gneisenau, they're pretty close. But I'm having a LOL every time I see a Gneis. I can and will take her on in the Hood, and mostly win. Probably not if you're in it. But I also wouldn't beat you when you were in Hood. FYI tried the Gneisenau.. my div-mate has it. I suck in it, so I wouldn't be tempted to try get it. I bet this guy would manage to lose the Yamato. Never underestimate the potatoness of potatoes. How would he do in a Gneisenau vs a Hood (I bet we all know). It's my opinion, and that will have to do. It;'s just an opinion though. Depends on playstyle and what you like. BTW People do not have to spend any money on Gneisenau at all, it's a silver ship. FACTS say though that your 'prefer claims misleading' statement is kinda BS. Didn't you yourself say you prefer Gneisenau to Scharnhorst? LOL. Now... that could be legitimised as BS. However, I also think Gneisenau is generally better. It is just the players that 'make the ship'. Look at the stats and see which is usually more prolific. Hood does better than Gneisenau. But is is 10x less common - hence, the Gneisenau (if it is better) has more potatoes driving it. Which makes sense as it is the silver ship. And therefore chances are Hood is gonna beat it.
-
If he has, yes. But what if the one in the Kongo is slightly less potato. Chances are that the potato in the Kongo wins. If the guy in the Yamato is half decent, but has a better-than-half-decent player in the Kongo, Yamato still loses. Regarding the Gneisenau, I think it has bigger chance of potatoes than Hood driving it.
-
I do expose side. Just wait until he has fired, then turn... BTW I also fire his broadside. If he holds fire... then he's expecting the turn, and not a potato. Most are potatoes though (I mean, even more than me... LOL).
-
The trick is to engage them at YOUR distance. Keep ~ 7-8km, circle them, or whatever. Do not let them get near, else you're screwed. But if you manage to deny them the close fight you can just shoot them where you like. if you keep turning no way they hit you harder than you hit them. I had two of them (Gneis) chase me, and I just was watching them, when they fired I evaded. They could only shoot the front guns... I swerved a little, but when I swerved I also used the front guns... rear guns at one, fronts at the other... killed one, the other ran, then I chased him and almost killed him before game ended. They never could overtake me, the speed difference is small and seem like Hood slows down much less than Gneis when zig-zagging (only zig and no zag though). So, taking about 10% of them per reload, and them together taking much less than 10% of me (80% missed...).... Kept the heal for use when I was hidden behind island... easy. Remember: a thing of Hood is, heals back 60% of AP damage as well as the HE damage. It is REALLY GOOD at tanking. I have healed back from 10% health to over half. It is like a zombie. Another trick in Hood when a Gneisenau orScharn is chasing me... pull the handbrake, full turn, they usually cannot follow. And then release AP pen on their broadside from 5km, BOOM. Instant death if they are less than half health. Often they can't even aim and fire torps, if they do, evading is usually easy. Their shots won't kill Hood. I have had when I was full health and he was too, and did that trick three times, I had 25% less health (healed back... he shot HE... LOL... and he was dead.

Stagnating in my progres. Need help and getting stuff of my chest
BLUB__BLUB replied to Linkaex's topic in General Discussion
Oh, and about stats, there's something fishy. Last vacation I was playing with my son LOTS of games. SO, we had NO single games, and we always played in division 2 or 3. Or even more when the Clan had a lot of members online. But guess what... I got 53WR, and he got 48. Should be THE SAME over those weeks. Not even that was the weiordest, but he usually ends up in top 3 in his DD (he is quite good). And I play the BBs and usually I end up somewhere halfway the team. ....and if you think your WR is bad, I got below 30 when grinding the King George V.- 25 replies

Stagnating in my progres. Need help and getting stuff of my chest
BLUB__BLUB replied to Linkaex's topic in General Discussion
Well that is a great goal but it will only work if you spend all day same number of games, because the game will count your last games and the stats will mess it up. For example, if I play Hood all night (and I do not get potato teams) it will increase winrate. But, if I play half the night with King George V and I suck in that, it will probably decrease winrate even if I play Hood the other half. Now, I tried the new T6 RN DD and guess what, I am now únicum DD player'. Duh. Stick there, it is the most fun. Lately I have been getting more T7 games in my T7 ships. A month ago, mostly giot uptiered to T8 and T9. SO, result: a month ago I sucked. This month slightly better, so I grind the T7 King George V more, and result, still not good. LOL. https://forum.worldofwarships.com/topic/128618-enable-replays/ Guess what, there are a lot of players that do not come to the forum, and make the same mistakes you did. It is not you that missed something. Meanwhile, you get it. But they are missing something and they 'll not learn. The ability to see the faults makes the master. But it does not make you Harry Potter so there is no magic wand to waive. The only thing you can do is try to not make those mistakes yourself. If you get really good you still cannot prevent faults. But if you are really reallty really good, you might kill enough to win anyway. Duh. That is a known 'feature', it is called the 'camping BBs'. If the other team does it too, it is a matter of which one sticks his nose out first and gets it blown off. So, once this is an established situation, it is hard to change. Makes sense that you didn't do great, as the other team probably did the same. They all hide. As they hide, there are no points to score. BTW if yiour tam is fantastic, you also will not do great. Becasue the adversary die so fast, you cannot get any either. This means your team was actually not THAT bad (compared to the other team). Because at least they managed to survive long enough for you to score some points. It also says you are they best of the potatoes (and maybe the only one that was NOT a potato).. I have found a way against campers, but it is not really making your team any better. Also, it will only work in DDs, OP cruisers or something like Hood. I sneak around ad try flank the enemy,. This senmds some out of hiding and may start interesting play. And sometimes they do NOT come out of hiding, well then either I get shot or I manage to kill a few. It doesnt mean your team gets better, it just (sometimes) means they have to become active. 'Duh, even then they sometimes just run. What I did find is that the 'follow me I am going in' doesn't have the wanted effect...- 25 replies

Yeah I disagree too. Every time I see a Scharnhorst or Gneisenau in my Hood, I go happyhappyjoyjoy, because at least that one I can take on without a worry. And I wouldn't call myself a good player...
-
It is simply a choice: - aim very carefully, get very disappointed; OR: - fart in the general direction and be mighty pleased with the result. When I have some ships that are like that, I choose method #2....

I mean in bits and bytes - polygons, if that means anything to you. A few islands with 2-poly trees (they are flat, but rotate) doesn't break the memory bank. -

BLUB__BLUB replied to FishDogFoodShack's topic in General Discussion
SO far the problem is that most 'capture points' are all sort of in the middle. I can think of some maps that would have nutty effects, maybe we should do a thread on it. As in 'post your map suggestions', and most voted one gets made. @MrConway would that be a nice idea? You'd need to set some limits though (size, height, number of caps and such). BTW I could draw one up in 3DSmax if needed, but I dunno what the format needs to be. -
Me and teammate both got one. Thanks OP.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
BLUB__BLUB replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Could have been the Belfast, I put a few shells in him later. You would not have been fast enough to get away, so do not worry. I saw what was happening but couldn't do anything about it - nobody protected the DDs, and the CV didn't spot. I had nothing to shoot at except when I spotted it myself.
