I'm already surprised most of them stay camped bow-in.... I think a premium ship with all guns strapped reverse-French-style to the rear would sell incredibly well. We can call it the USS Coward or something.
-
We often do 3xBB and usually we roflstomp the enemy. 3 New Mexico (or rather 2x Mex +1 Arizona) is a real steamroller. 3xDD doesn't matter much, today I had most games 4DDs and sometimes 5. However, it DOES depend what DDs are in the div. 3x Numbski is not gonna do well. 3x Acasta is fine. Not a guaranteed win but you'll end up in the top half usually (would be better if I wasn't a N00b with DDs).
-
That will not happen, else nobody will buy the premium ships. Also, it's not that noticeable (I have New Mex and Arizona, the premium does not shoot that much better). RoF buffs will also cause the ships to be even more OP to ships that get uptiered.

T8 BB's in T10 games, an idea for survival.
BLUB__BLUB replied to Migantium_Mashum's topic in General Discussion
That's funny, too. But he neds to be dead else he comes back with his zombie-heal. Usually I approach them sort of angled, then swing out the rear and let the AP rip. Sometimes they stupidly carry on spamming HE at a target that is in front of them until I am at 7km or so. I only shoot when I see them turning the guns... mostly resulting in citadels. Also helps, we usually 'double team' them. My mate is usually in a DD or in the Bismarck. Sometimes they get pretty salty - I run IFHE on the Monarch. Bowcamping doesn't work at all... It even pens all over on a Yamato except the armour belt, even at long distance. It's criminal! -
Well duh, that ideal spot is not easy. I'll settle for option zero, just a spot where I can shoot the enemy. They can shoot me if they want... I have a fat BB... I can take it. Better than having that second one. Good one. Today I had a lot of those. You aim the guns to support them, and then they stop spotting... dammit. But indeed the enemy gets them too. I blindshotted two of those in their own smoke today. Won lots of salt and bad karma.

T8 BB's in T10 games, an idea for survival.
BLUB__BLUB replied to Migantium_Mashum's topic in General Discussion
Agreed. I'm not that good, but my div mate is. We usually play T8 div, he mostly takes a DD or sometimes a BB. Not rarely we end up halfway the top of the scoreboard, usually he ends up top 3 (either in a DD or a BB). Also in TX matches. I never end up last unless I screw up badly. If we take T7 or T8 cruisers and get uptiered to T9 or TX well... we usually end up pretty much dead and last. BBs are tough enough and I don't care even if they put me in a Queen Elizabeth in a T9 match. Conq tears are sweeeeet eh? They use HE only, and they forget that other BBs do have AP... and use it.... BOOMSHANKA! -
It is, they have 'all or nothing' armour. You will not get citadels or delete gun turrets (there is ALL the armour). But you will be able to penetrate almost everything else.

do people play to lose on purpose?
BLUB__BLUB replied to mrandrewclark85's topic in General Discussion
This is the weekend mate. When everybody gets drunk and plays WoWS with the neighbours. Besides, win or lose is also a matter of luck, too. Sacrifice goats to RNGesus and all that. You need to be REALLY good and have the right ship (for the occasion) to carry a cart of potatoes to a win. So, if you have a 'losing streak', yes it might be a good idea to take a 10 minute break (the potatoes you played with, are then in another game). It also might be a good idea to stick to T5-T7... where most fun happens. And it also might be a good idea to play weekends like weekends: relax, have fun, laugh. In the end your win rate might be ~50% and not go up, but at least your heart rate will go down a lot... -
Correct. IMO the most irritating thing is the constant HE spam, which you get because you cannot escape cruisers. So, I'm used to being constantly on fire... maybe that is what they should do, shorten the time US BBs burn. Or something. The rest of it, not missing anything or finding anything weak. NY is sorta shite in the AA but it can avoid y torpedoes pretty good. Slam the brakes and turns on a dime. Then to get going again is another matter. Maybe a bit better acceleration (haha! a turtle with acceleration...) would do good.

Reasons behind "Roflstomps"

Why does this sound so familiar? Was I in one of those games... doing the same stuff in a Bone-arch, with a div mate in a DD? LOL!! -

BLUB__BLUB replied to RenamedUser_92906789's topic in General Discussion
Oh this sort of stuff always sends me laughing... while my div mates are annoyed to the point of even (almost) rage quitting. I had it so that even at 5 km I 'straddled' an enemy cruiser, and then he tried to torp me - and missed them all, he shot 5 salvos of HE at me and no fire, in the end I just rammed him... hilarious! We even won, although it WAS through stupidity galore. The whole while I was watching (after sudden death to torps that weren't actually meant for me), I was amazed. This game is really sometimes very funny. But I can understand if some people get annoyed as hell. I'm usually not expecting much, I'm not that good - and the Monarch is really awful, too. I expect to get 50k or so, more in a good game and less in a bad one (win or lose not much difference). -

Forgot to add: we were ~ 5 km from cap, behind our DDs and just in front of cruisers, and when we missed the enemy took full advantage and killed our 3 DDs, managed to blap two cruisers and set me on fire... yes their CLs (that we should have blapped) did it. -
This is what you should get, use the redeem code "111111", get a mission for a Veterans Day symbol. Earn 10k base XP, must be done in T5 or higher. NOTE (and thanks to KloPirat):

I'm not as good as you, but the same thing happens. In fact, I already know it's gonna be baaaaaddd when I shoot all guns of the New Mex at a CL <10km - and miss all. And then my div-mate, in a Bismarck, does the same. Next shot, again this happens. That means two fat BBs have just spent 10% of the game doing no damage at all. -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
BLUB__BLUB replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Yup, once alone (lost) and then with my div-mate in the Skidmark (lost again). Once in the same team and then in the other. GG for you guys. Managed not to potato too bad... 50k both times in the Bone-arch which is about average. Basically it is a do-over of King Grog the Filth at tier 8 so that's why. On to T8 I hope... -

Boring endless grind stages for Cossack
BLUB__BLUB replied to Praetorias's topic in General Discussion
Looks like a captain and some free stuff for me then. But why whine? I also got Icarus. Bert is going on the Leander, whose captain got promoted to Fiji. Finally it has a decent commander again. The rest I spent on containers, didn't get any missions. Also, I have fat flags up the wazoo now. To get Warspite would have cost me 6 containers (needed 30 sovereigns more), which is ~17 euro (if they still sold them). Warspite is 25 euro, usually each sale gets 50% off (last sale I got Hood), or might use coupon from arsenal. So getting Bert Dunkirk was the best deal. Thanks for the tip. -

BLUB__BLUB replied to Praetorias's topic in General Discussion
I know already we'll not get any more souvereigns, but thanks anyway. I need a few but I do not remember how many you get from the premium RN containers. I do not see any RN containers in the shop either... so can't decide if it's worth it or not. Otherwise might just get the Warspite or a captain, spend the rest of some flags, and that's it. -

BLUB__BLUB replied to Praetorias's topic in General Discussion
I'm not getting the Cossack, as I am not much interested in playing DDs. Might get it sometime, when I start the RN DD line. But not in the event. Not able to grind enough (play enough games) and I'm not that good with DDs. The event will get me Warspite and maybe a 10-pt captain, I'm pretty pleased with that as I loved the Queen Elizabeth. So far I also got a free Icarus, nice. My son also got one and he's a DD player, he might get Cossack. I'd probably convert the guineas for something else anyway, too bad can't do much with them. -

I'm looking forward to torping camper-BBs and HE-spammers with these. Would also be good for some Ops, as in torping convoys / defending them. -
I didn't believe it either, but there IS some RNG to torps. They have shown me in a video. But it is less than with guns - there is no up or down. But stilll... RNG is there. Start sacrificing those sheep.

Top tier matches don't feel like ships anymore
BLUB__BLUB replied to Viravandrel's topic in General Discussion
I call that good thinking. The sigma on standing/slow ships is a remarkably good one. Probably that is a bit difficult, so the reverse would be nice too: - increase dispersion when shooting from a non-moving ship (as in: bobbing up and down on the waves). -
What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
BLUB__BLUB replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
This is why they 'rebalance' the CVs. If the other one gets deleted (he is third from under), there is no stopping you from killing the whole team. Which still takes skill though, so GG and well played. I'm a bit sorry for the other team, must be frustrating. -
Exactly. That is why you take IFHE when you have puny little guns.
-
Actually, that's a bit wrong there concerning IFHE/AP. AP depends on angle, and distance (shell velocity) to have penetrating effect. HE (and therefore IFHE) only depends on the caliber (multiplied too) not the angle or shell velocity. Also, there's no chance of overpens with (IF) HE. You take a slight decrease in fire chance. But with IFHE, a hit usually means a pen, where AP is depending on angle and all that. I found it the best way to compensate for the puny guns on King Grog the Filth. Which is actually a battlecruiser branded as a BB, but you already mentioned that WoWS feature.
