No? How? That captain is on the Hood too. AFAIK it still costs either dubloons, or FXP or cptXp. Nah, I know. That is WHY this thread is posted (check title), also it is why I am on the forum. WILL post more replays (and try to sift the useful from the salty comments). Must learn not to potato and get better.

With Tirpitz especially, it depends completely if the guy (girl?) that is playing it has half a brain. If has, they it is dangerous as hell, if not I'll just try and shoot it with whatever I drive at that moment. No matter if it is Monarch or Arizona. Bismarck and Tirpitz are good enough but can be ff-ed up badly.

They said so. Calculations also say so, nevertheless it had a VERY noticeable effect on the King George V. No more shatters (and still NO shatters in Monarch) and the fire improved instead of getting less (which shouldn't). The last one, well, maybe there's something WG is not telling (like pens having better fire than shatters). But on KGV it got lots of salty chat due to the HE penning unsuspecting bow-on campers. It may (probably) go into the bin when I do a re-spec, which will most likely be after the Monarch. Unfortunately I haven't got the luxury of a free respec so it will take some time saving up. Just gathering points for now, a re-think is in order when I get the cap upto 19.

Looks like I'll keep the IFHE on the captain then... I know I know, it shouldn't work... still does (even on the Bone-Arghh) BTW wanna know what is bad? A Colorado in a T9 game...
-
Why would it be? If a more experienced player says so, it is confirmation of what I think. Usually I end up somewhere between halfway and top-3 of team. Yes there are BBs that have higher damage. But i do not see how camping and farming XP is gonna win the game. OK unless all reds drift in front of your guns... and you kill 'em all. This is what I do. I go in, close support of DDs. Usually I am in front of the cruisers... who will get blapped when they are too close. Then I try to shoot a DD or some CL, and after that usually have to 'reprint' because of being burnt to a crisp (or die if I'm not quick enough on the getaway). That is why my div-mate gets mega kills in the DD... I shoot up the ones that go for him, and unless it is a dev strike, he gets to put them down. Only when it is one of those games where both teams have one base, then he spots and I get the main score.

Oh crap. Then at least is the T10 better? I'll get there anyway. The only reason being wanting to play CW for steel with my buddies. I'll probably not play even 1 tier 10 match after grinding the ship. Much better off at T6. Might have, the C cap is between mountains. And nobody went to B... Well, the logic is far from logic. But I am not going to 'scout B' in a BB... especially not if there is a CV. Might as well stick a pole op the behind and call myself shish-kebab. B-C would have been the logic move, it looked though like nobody was going B. I'll keep that in mind next time though. At that moment I wasn't spotted... the Graf Spee would expect me to come out the other way. Didn't think the Lyon would come, and those reds were a surprise... when I saw them I also noticed A and B had gone 'south'... LOL. But by then the Lyon had sort of gone under as well, already. It was the 'Oh crap' moment. The time that I am wishing I am in Hood... I didn't notice the Belfast being AFK, to be honest. Sometimes they do not move because I tend to be one of the first to 'join game' (pretty good connection). But staying more centered is good advice and I'll make sure to use it.

Probably a sensible thing to do... Just I dunno if the T9 is any better. Plus they say you have to 'run the whole line' or else end up a potato. Bring the mayonaise... Yes, noticed that. But I didn't see anyone going to B, so I decided to help the DD that went to C, and then committed to it. B/C is best here (but they went A, what can I say... not gonna follow them...) Indeed I took cover (had to reload, wanted to surprise them by coming out the other end too). And then joined up (planes overhead) with the Lyon, that died very quickly and even blamed me for two fires (LOL). The problem with that is nobody seemed to go there at first, lots went to A. Usually I do that though. B/C best here indeed. Yeah but that is 'hindsight', he might even have been good... Same as what happened at A. Most BBs went there and then they simply left, sort of.
-
I do that too... I call it 'can I get 100k with it'. Usually I can, no matter what ship... just the average damage leaves something to be desired.
-
I play mostly BB but some DDs as well. Yesterday I wrecked a Maass in a Colorado, now how's that?
-
Just found out it is active, but had a weird timestamp. All my replays had the same timestamp... BTW check this out. King George hates me, too. That's OK because I hate it right back.... The average damage I get is low in general though so I need to work on that. Maybe I am too careful. Yes the Hull 2 made it better, before that it was like KGV in T8, with slightly bigger guns (I like it better though). It's fully spaded (I always use the FXP for that). Now I have to spade the Colorado but that is better already (I like USA BBs).
-
That's why I ask. I'm a bit done with sitting at <50% WR and low damage output. Duh. I tend to do just the things you say here (watch the replay). Hunt DDs, cap, and tank... I think it is better than the KGV (I really hated that ship). At least it has decent AP, but well, it has improved Queen E / Hood guns. But yes it is much more inaccurate than those two. This is what I try. Maybe I am going in too much, but I think that if I survive untill last ship alive maybe I am not going in enough. And indeed - kill them. because even at 1hp they can still shoot. I try. Must say it is very hard in Monarch. In Hood or QE I can hit the bow of cruisers even if they are angled. One shell goes amiss, but the other one hits usually. in Monarch, the three front guns... well... check replay and watch what it does (not) to Graf Spee.
-
Probably. But they say that if you are any good or a real potato, after a few hundred games this starts to show. In a div I am usually not 'greedy', I shoot up other BBs and CLs but the kill is usually for the DD. WHo has an 'unicum' rating sometimes (must say he's pretty good too) but even that differs. Some days the 'recent games' stats are just horrible.
-
I had that going, somehow it didn't save this one. I'll try if I can upload one next time. (it somehow stopped saving them somewhere in the afternoon). Or at least IT SAID SO. But now appears it saved it anyway, somehow with the wrong timestamp! BUT I HAVE IT. Note the Lyon (parking in the middle of a crossfire) claiming I started two fires on him.... LOL. Also I dunno what our BBs did at C and what that Maass was doing getting between 2 BBs at that distance. I feel like a potato, my WR is somewhere down the drain, and the dmg xp is also quite below average. OK maybe I am a potato, but this much? 20181118_232126_PBSB108-Monarch_19_OC_prey -----.wowsreplay

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
BLUB__BLUB replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Today I met [SCRUB] @lup3s of course my team didn't win, looked like we were doing Ok but then it suddenly all went south.I gave him a Hi and later on also managed to give his Maass a shell. Lucky hit, the whole game seemed more like my Monarch wanted to spray a bit and not shoot straight. Was last man standing on the team, survived, and scored a decent 60k, not exceptionally well and not enough to save my cart of taters. Well at least I didn't blunder too much... Grats on the win lup3s! -
Vanguard: lacking something to be good

100% correct there. I will not buy whatever T8 they offer, because of the MM. Go big (tX) or go home (buy T6/7). -
So, can we get a company battle like game mode now?

This is what I do with guys that I get to join the game, to show them how things work. -
Vanguard: lacking something to be good
BLUB__BLUB replied to __Helmut_Kohl__'s topic in General Discussion
Because the Monarch is what King George V should/could have been... but just a tier too late. It wouldn't even be OP at tier 7. Instead they put a baaaaaad version at it in T7, and gave it a flamethrower. Now that's fine if you can handle it, but it's not a BB. I hope tier 9 (Lion) gets better, but in case it is not, I started on the Colorado (oh and what joy that is... arghhh...). Lucky for me most seem to float around hiding behind islands or at map borders. Also most of them wouldn't hit a barn door even if they were parked in front of it. But if you meet one that knows what to do, well, straight return to port in 1 salvo, usually. -
Please do something about tier 8 matchmaking

Vanguard: lacking something to be good

This also mean everybody would be crap like me in the KGV. Maybe a bit less crap, but not much. -
Should warn a bit though, comes with free obligatory lobotomy...

I find it best in Hood to use the front guns and rear guns separately. Gets me much better hitrate. -
Did ramming always work like this?
BLUB__BLUB replied to ForlornSailor's topic in General Discussion
I think if you do it this way (sort of 'grinding' instead of a ram) you get quid-pro-quo. Or, you trade your health for his. Ends up you had more health than him. -
FdG, the most frustrating ship out there
BLUB__BLUB replied to SNAPHAAN's topic in General Discussion
Yeah I know. My div mate sails those and usually he is a bit higher up the tree in the end. He tried the KGV on my account and was absolutely horrified... It is, IMO, an easier-to-hit-inflated-Bismarck-piñata... Can't blame the captains if that is exactly how they experience it. Different from KGV, that is a whole new experience coming from Queen E it is like day and night. Lucky at least Monarch gets the guns back... Broadside is good for me, I'll not pen the armour belt but hey a large bow, rear and upper structure means good pickings. And I can pen those with IFHE at any angle... since they're so big, easy to hit too. Man that ship is hughe. Twice as big as the Monarch? If I know one is in game, and it gets detected, I start shooting at 22km... use the spotterplane to the max... they just keep sailing a straight mine like nothing is gonna get them. But it will, because often I start a perma-fire. And the Ap also wreaks havoc on anything except the heavy armour (sooo much better than KGV... btw just found out it has QE guns, LOL). The moment I am detected I start zig-zagging... ALWAYS get the rudder shift mod. I suppose they don't and take the secondary buffs whenever they can. In the end, if I see there is a FdG in game, I'm muck less wary of that than a Bismarck. FdG I consider almost as tasty as a Tirpitz (though some of them are dangerous, others just...well...tasty). -
FdG, the most frustrating ship out there
BLUB__BLUB replied to SNAPHAAN's topic in General Discussion
I'm not afraid of it in 1v1, but he brings 'friends' and so do I. Well, the usual cart of potatoes. Maybe I'm in it, too (LOL). Usually my potato buddies are a bigger nuisance to him than his potato buddies are to me. The last one is probably usually the case I guess. I have gotten a bit ´smarter´ after grinding the KGV. Maybe FdG players had an easier learning curve. Purely on numbers, you are right. Maybe I just haven't met one with half a brain. Usually they think they are invulnerable. Even met some that hide behind an island. And then they do not turn the guns, while I am shooting at them from <15km. Easy pickings. I didn't even know the Monarch had secondaries... Or at least, it probably has them, but I'm not going to 'use' them. Maybe that is the main FdG thing, they make a secondary build and think the ship will do the work for them?
