If I am in the NY I always shoot DDs... I can one-shot the poor b*astards at 18km, even when moving I'll get some hits, no problem. NY is pretty accurate, even with AP loaded, DDs get hell. But... this is a Monarch... have a look at how I hit the Currywurst. If I was in NY I think not one of those shells would miss the Currywurst. And those DDs at TX are a bit faster, too. In NY I just shoot turret-by-turret. I have many kills on DDs. And I had the HE loaded in Monarch. Now - between 'low damage' being a problem, and DDs damn g hard to shoot in Monarch... choose Currywurst. I'll try shoot the DDs next time... you'll go LOLOLOL ast the derp dispersion. Maybe If I can get all the guns on a DD at 5 km... I had it happen they came really close, I shot all front guns in them, and still they had more than 50% health remaining. In Hood, Arizona, whatever - such a DD is dead. Not in Monarch... I know that trick... maybe that's it with Monarch. As it sure turns like sh... and the turret rotation is also sh... maybe if I can get close enough? I do that trick all the time in Hood... sneak up, blast them full of AP, and then kite, going in-out of concealment. They all went to the right side of those islands. Was expecting to at least get one of them... that would be as stupid as to 'cross the island line'. I was a bit unlucky I got detected by the DD that was near, the others were far enough. If that DD had not been there, I'd have gotten a nice cruiser kill, and then I'd have gone straight to hide behind the next island. But, got detected, pulled full reverse, then found that Monarch also has NO BRAKES. Duh! Yes it was, and I knew it. But a sunk T8 BB would not have mattered, AND also the other guy advised to go a bit yolo sometimes. He was right too, 82k in a TX game, not bad compared to my average.

OK, maybe the better players here would like to take a look. Maybe it's me but maybe it's the cart of potatoes this potato gets thrown into, I dunno anymore. Getting to grips with the Bone-Argh, I like it better than the KGV, almost like I am in the Queen E again... except... THIS (replay somehow not saved) is usually what happens. I'm busy doing my job, end up top-3, with a meagre score and a loss. If I get a good long game I can get 80-90k, and I think more is possible. But usually the team gets overrun or wins by overrunning the other team. This time seemed they had killed half the team while I was not looking, and then I got 5 of them after me. I did not manage to survive long enough to witness the capping point run up to 1000 (by one sec). Now... what? Any ideas? or should I just farm damage and not give a flying F?

Trying to understand what I am doing wrong in BBs
BLUB__BLUB replied to HawkHunt's topic in General Discussion
Part of the problem is that you need to have the ship he plays, I could not tell him what to do with Fuso, because I do not have it. I like setting them on fire when I have nothing else to shoot at... Usually they do not even know where it came from... -
Good info though, even in FFWD. Even more often? Hmm. I was thinking maybe I need to shoot them less and go for the harvestable targets. Besides - this is Monarch. It cannot even turn the guns to follow a fast DD at ~7k or less. Plus dispersion is mega-derp. Which doesn't matter much when shooting an unsuspecting Currywurst... Yeah that was a gamble. I saw the Currywurst go other side, thought that's where they'd all be, so hide there, turned out good gamble. Well, that was more like 'I am sick of this camping nobody does anything'. I wasundetected until I moved my butt out, I knew I'd pay for it... suckers all shooting HE though (I expected that). Managed to set it all off, which was the plan. The RN DD smoked me up, but his smoke doesn't last long, so I had to get going - sure they'd come for me. I had seen him fire his torps before, knew he'd be there somewhere, either he'd get out or I'd kill him. That was the YY if I remember correct. I'm not that scared of DDs even in the Monarch. Just killing them doesn't really work in it, but they rarely kill me. Yes there I was cursing behind the keyboard, that was stupid indeed to turn out again. Did know he was gonna fire torps. When I saw him smoke up, I thought, OK he's gone let's shoot the Yamato then (low dmg remembered, must fix). And then I went... oh wait... YOU NUMBNUT... that is a YY, by about now he'll have reloaded, he will fire torps... That would have been the better deed indeed. But must admit, there's the factor 'Monarch'... shoot a wall in front and it will still miss. Couldn't miss the Yamato (note that ~half the shells still miss him anyway)... but a DD... yes can miss that... easily. He'd be dead if it wasn't the Monarch, but... The guns cannot even follow him, I have to swing the ship too. Wasn't too worried about them... they had enough on their mind, the YY was a bigger threath... But yes should have turned in, AND turned the guns. Because that YY is a very quick DD... That's a good idea. And a good tip, I thought the plane wouldn't detect DWT either. Good idea, wasn't aware of the Wooster there though (situational awareness lacking). Actually I wasn't really aware of any going anywhere... just derping around. Yeah won't kill him (hahaha like ever, he's twice the size), I did get nice fire damage from him though. Monarch causes reasonable amounts of fire. Plus I'm not that sure if I can hit those DDs at all (Monarch has awful dispersion). With any other ship I'd have tried, I'm sure would have gotten at least one with Hood or Arizona or Q.E.. Monarch? Hmmm... TBH think maybe better to shoot a large target (can't miss...) that burns well than a small DD with it... but maybe I'm wrong. Will give it a try. Thanks for the tips, hope I get any better.

Trying to understand what I am doing wrong in BBs
BLUB__BLUB replied to HawkHunt's topic in General Discussion
I have ~1500 games and on the old account ~same. I know how stuff works and I know it when I suck. Most of the times I know the reasons too.... and if i do not, I ask here. Because I know I am doing something wrong but I dunno what. But at least OP had the sense to come and ask, I hope it does him any good. IF it does, he will end up in T10 knowing why the other ones suck (like the rest here). If not, well, then we have another one... -

BLUB__BLUB replied to HawkHunt's topic in General Discussion
It means you got there mighty quick, and you don't know what other ships can do, and yes that is why you think 'how do they do this to me'. Basically the internet doesn't give a damn, but this is how you end up when you go to the next tier too quickly. Yes maybe you were lucky here and there or skipped something, but hey, if you can, then why not? Well... I guess now is when you find out why not. If I think you deserve it or not doesn't matter,it is just a fact that you have a T7. What matters is that you have at least seen it is not going well - which is GOOD. Fuso might be a good ship, but the éasy mode'is because there are A LOT of players that go quickly, even though they think it is slow as F (like you...). And yes that is why they sail (at tier 6, remeber, Fuso...) broadside to 12 14 inch cannons... but YOU ask, and THEY do not. Maybe this moment is a good one to remember. When you are Tier 10, you will look at your random teammates, think about it, and wonder 'how did they get here'... (not as if I'm that very good myself.... hahahaha!) -
Still need help! Not unicum yet!

I say, keep 'em firing, too. One second wasted not firing or reloading is just that, wasted. Just a different priority: 1) Any broadside target that you can do a lot of damage to (your buddies will finish him off easier) 2) Low health targets that you can eliminate with one salvo (always better to get guns out of the game) 3) Shoot at reds that are threathening your DDs or cruisers (maybe that should be #1, or #2) 4) DDs that are spotted close enough for you to reliably hit them (especially if you have HE loaded)* 5) Any HE-spammers or islandhuggers standing still that you have half a chance of hitting (even if it is just to drive them out, so your buddies can hit them) 6) Anything else -

Dude, you have 350 games, and have a T7 ship. I really do not know how you did it. Did you buy them all? I have 1.500 games, and have 1 tier 8, and 2 tier 7 ships (plus one I bought from shop)... and that was a loooong grind. At least you played the whole line, or so it seems. But unfortunately you did not learn enough from it. Please grant the other dude his annoyance at a tier 7 player who really should be in Tier 3, or something. He plays games where he has a lot of people like you - which is why he loses A LOT of games. There's a bit positive to say too: - You seem to be either lucky or good with the Fuso - ...and you came here to try get better. ...but please try to understand the annoyance. How do you come across to a seasoned player, that has well earned his ships? (and then you go on about watching a documentary on oil rigs while playing the game... maannnnnn!) -

Hot damn. Never happened to me, played it at least 10 times or so on hard and LOTS more on 'easy mode'... Yeah that's true, you need to kill 'em all... but I mean, do YOU need to kill ALL of 'em? I mean... that is why this game is hard with randoms. Not so hard with people that know what they do. I never get to within 2km of those things though. That is REALLY risky. Usually when I want to kill one, I stand still at ~6km, shoot a freeze torp, see it hit, then go in and kill it. -

That's not 'I didn't move' because I do not think you spawned there... IF YOU DID then get tha hell outta there next time... full left rudder, pedal to the metal. I know that sometimes people plan to camp and sit where they spawned... others know this too... So what they do is shoot at a spawn location from behind mountains. If you are detected, maybe. How about showing an angled side? I always LEAVE the spawn 45 degrees angled... and make sure I stay AT LEAST 45 angled to any known enemies... How you could have known? make that thing on the right bottom of the screen larger. You can also set it to show locations (and LAST KNOWN locations). Oh and better set it not to BLACK but 'see through' (else there will be surprises coming from down right...). BTW those aren't cruisers shooting at you. If you put that thing right-down to LARGE and set 'show ships'etc, you will know. AT LEAST.... YOU WILL IF you have one eye on the screen, one eye on the 'radar'- and NOT one eye on Oil Rig Documentaries and the other on Pr0N... -

I fail to see the difference, except they do not have camping flags... -
Dude, I dunno how you got to tier 8... seems mighty quick to me. 588 battles to get to colorado (how do you like her BTW) is really quick. But anyway - which one to get depends on what you like to play. I like big fat USA BBs, and cruisers. I also like British cruisers and BBs. I hate DDs (or maybe they hate me). What I like to do with them, is operations, more than anything else. This means I have to get a T6-7-8. I also use them to train captains on and farm XP. So it means, if I am researching one line, I need a premium for that line. No use having a premium Japanese BB if I do not play Japanese BB line. Now I have a T6 Arizona, and mighty happy with that. Because I research the USA BBs, and I like them. I also have t7 Hood, a crossbreed between cruiser/BB for the Brits (which I like both). T8/9/10 is hard to farm. If I do not score > 40k in the T8 Monarch, I'll actually LOSE credits. I could then get a vanguard, but in fact, this seems not to be a much better ship (to me). So, my opinion is you should get a T6/7/8 in whatever BB-line you like. Bt first watch some Youtube videos and see if it is any good. Soem premiums are... "special" but not that good.

I got Arizona form Supercontainer... much chuffed with that one. Musashi or Kronstadt would be a disappointment, unfortunately. Rather I'd get Texas or Warspite or something useful, but hey. Well. -

If you are within 4 km from one.... AND DETECTED... that is much too close. But... are you sure that it was his depth charge? Check the 'details' screen afterward. Ehh... 'casual sailing broadside', I know they shoot pretty hard as well. But I'll assume you were 'under'? Yes those DDs are very good, very agressive in Hard Mode too. If you REALLY want to kill them, you need the 'fast and short' torps. The 'thrower' is called a hedgehog. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hedgehog_(weapon) -

Another TX game... camped behind a rock for a while, spammed HE at a Currywurst. He burned nicely. Then after a while I got bored and stuck my head around... got a few shots off at the red ones that were camping there. But hey, as expected everybody started to shoot HE at me so I retreated... DD came to the rescue and set smoke... so off I went. This seemed to be the start of all hell break loose. Good. I managed to survive and deal 80k damage. @ShinGetsu 120 fired, 41 hits. Better? Getting better at it, thanks to you guys. 20181120_210957_PBSB108-Monarch_37_MtnRange---.wowsreplay

I think not, after a bunch of (uptiered) T9 an TX games I don't like it at all. I'll get a T10 boat, so I can join the clan for CW, and that will be it. After that I'll sell 'em all and go to the T5/6/7 where the fun is. Not a matter of 'git gud' really, more like 'git out'. I really like the game, I like operations too, but I do not like to sit behind a rock and sneak around spamming HE (and then, every shell costs credits also, duh RNG). -
