Steel for money, steel from campaign, steel everywhere
BLUB__BLUB replied to FeelTheseTorps's topic in General Discussion
What's MO? BTW Fair enough for Coops, but seems to me some want some sort of advantage (OK, can understand that) and think they get it by getting 'steel' ships. Which they will not, plus they do not realise that the ones they want an advantage over will get it too. But about Coop, I wouldn't really know, the only time I play AI is when I have a new ship, to sort of try it. Plus the Operations, and sometimes we make a 'mad training room' with some friends where we put in bots (insane T3 cruisers + dumb T10BBs, and then we go in in Omaha). Doesn't mean I cannot understand why anyone else would want them. But the 'special' of most steel ships just eludes me, I can think of nicer ones. Looks to me like this: Wanna look like this: ----> End up looking like this: --> Then again, I'm sort of a nutter and I know it. -
I hope T8 has a better US BB... else I'll just start grinding the IJN line and Za Zhermnans, see if they have any better. Both US and RN have been very likeable upto T6... after that... well... midlife crisis seems to set in, sort of. I think I know now why some people Free--XP certain ships. You live, you learn (you die because of burn).

It's not that. I'd also never buy a premium T9 ship or spend steel/coal on one. It would be like a fat man (say 350 kg) buying a string bathingsuit, or something. Therefore I do not understand why people would want it anyway. As in: The Derpitz is strrrrooong in this one, young padawan. So, the only steel one for me would be Flint, indeed - since it is T7 and I am comfortable at T7. And that one just looks no fun for me, compared to the amount of trouble I'd need to go through. -
It probably is, if it is the same as Colorado. I remember having a New York in a Colorado game. So I think, hey, free food. And he was near me, too. So... never even managed to hit him all game. To me it seems like a paid way to have a Colorado that never gets T9. But, thinking about that.... it may be a wise choice. You probably never saw what I did to GTA5...

I read up on it and the torpedoes (a lot) + dpm (a bit) are better. I think I have 3 hits (total) with torpedoes in Omaha. So, meh. But I'd rather get such a ship than Flint, well, at least Flint seems better to me than Musashi. Very much think that I'll quit grinding most lines after T7, and will mostly play T5/6. The point is, why would you want a 'steel' ship, if you'll probably suck in it anyway? Which reminds me, must grind more Monarch. -

Hmmm... maybe I'd like it a bit after all. I do like my Leander a lot. Fiji, not so much though. Basically because I liked Omaha, and St.Louis. Dallas I like a lot less. And yes you are right, it also makes ME wonder. But I guessed I have to go through the filth to get to Worchester? -

Might be a good tip, i always thought it was worse than Omaha. How is it better? -

Probably because they came too close. -

I can understand that you like it. Maybe you can also understand why I think it wouldn't be one for me. I liked Omaha, could go compeletely nuts in that thing and race all over the map. Not so fond of Dallas. My son a has Atlanta, i tried it a bit and definately do not like it. I hate the playstyle. I can imagine a Flint in a division. If it's a good team, then they are probably a real OP pest. But I have seen many divisions like that, and they can be countered by any other good division. At T7, hmmm. Let's see... how about 3 Lyons shooting HE into the smoke... that wouldn't last long. Today I had 3 DDs playing that sort of game, I had 1 div-mate in a Warspite and me in Arizona. We whacked all 3 of them without taking a scratch. -

Like it, too. But I like Leander more - and maybe the next one even better. So I am not sure yet if it's a keeper. -
Reasons behind "Roflstomps"
BLUB__BLUB replied to RenamedUser_92906789's topic in General Discussion
Which means, after you have completely upgraded the beeee-atch then you have to play it a longtime... I had no problems in Queen E, liked it a lot. Pretty soon I got above average. I'll NEVER get there in King Grog. -
Ah, I only have US BBs for the rest - maybe that is why I do not know the turret rotation is bad. I have a sort of madman playstyle. That is why I like Hood. Hit-and-run. As in: take the enemy cap... in a New York... I am quite used to the slow turrets though. Maybe I should try IJN BBs or Germans. See, this is why I ask. Else I would not have known the rotation is bad.
-
I like the one withe the incoming fire at 6km, really handy because of long-distance-sniper-campers. Why the turret rotation thing? I have a Dunkirk captain but use him on cruisers. Classic would be wise - as I also will use him on Hood and probably Warspite. Yes most things will work. But remember I am sort of nuts, I follow the DDs - not the cruisers. And I shoot DDs... will absolutely refuse to camp... Vigilance is a good tip[ though. Hood also doesn't have any plane. I guess you mean 'Mega-heal-build'? Monarch is awful. I like it better than King Grog so far though. At least it has decent AP (well sort of, the dispersion is horrible). Must think about Dunkirk. I might still get the second brother through playing Dunkirk.

Yes, but you're NOT a DD. As such, you are not very manouvrable (Omaha was...). Yeah I know. I think I'm not going to like it very much. But that is also why I think I'll not like Flint THAT much. Sure, maybe better than Atlanta. But not 'worth it' for the amount of crud I'd have to do to get it. Much better (suitable) ships available for me. And not even one of them is 'steel'... -
BB AP nerf needs tweaking (or buff expert loader)
BLUB__BLUB replied to __Helmut_Kohl__'s topic in General Discussion
Doesn't mean that any decent BB will also get decent points. I always shoot DDs. Usuallly I hit them, too. Indeed sometimes it seems I am the only BB that does try to hit them. But the points do not rack up like they do when you set fire to BBs. I just use HE more often now, still gets cits on cruisers, I guess most BB players do not realise that. -

So far I have Dallas, which seems reasonably good, but makes me miss Omaha. I imagine a Dallas with radar (has hydro) and then trading that for smoke. Nope. No way. -
You should. Reverse clubbing. Have a feast on their tears when you shred their tier 7s.

None taken... What can I say, except maybe I am the one they try to club? (T7 game). I only have ONE T8 and 3 T7... who's clubbing.

Black Friday containers...broken?
BLUB__BLUB replied to Azrael_Ashemdion's topic in General Discussion
I got 500 gold dubloons from one container. Not complaining. Now I can respec that RN BB captain, LOL. -
I have a replay of that, even two of them tried (I was in Texas). Both dead, Texas ate one torp. From a ff-ing plane (the only one that lived). Went exactly as he said, except the second DD came after the first one, and I already had the HE loaded then. What I do now - I used to have AP loaded when starting (blap cruisers) and now I check: how many DDs? Then decide to load AP or HE at the start. Often it is HE now. Working as intended.

At T7 that might HAVE BEEN true, but the great MM had taught them about even T9 ships now. Yeah I decided that is probably what you meant to say. I think it is 'interesting'. Without toxic div however, it would not be that special. It would be an Atlanta that traded radar for smoke. Wise? well... see your first thing, what you say YOURSELF about radar... Could work. Also you might meet a whacko like me. one of my regular div mates has a Belfast. I met him on the server where he was in a 3x Belfast div. I ate all his buddies in my Queen E. He was the only one I could not chew... at least not the whole bit. -

I thought that meant 'camp here and shoot', might be wrong though (but usually looks like I'm right). WOWS could fix these kinds of problems, by killing the current 'caps' system which promotes camping. Instead of a sort of pre-defined place in the sea, the cap should be a convoy of ships, or at least be something you'd have to defend (like a harbour or airport or whatever) and that can get shot up. So you'd not only have to kill/hunt the attackers, but also throw yourself in front or whatever. It would put an end to camping, also the 'convoy' would be a good opportunity for DDs. -

Thought about it for a moment, and decided that you seem to think it a wise decision a paperthin cruiser should trade radar for smoke. Oh goody. Ah well. Flint x Atlanta x Belfast... I suppose that is a lot worse than 3x Belfast, maybe some sort of a crisis version?
