Well, I have seen an AFK Curryworst kill a greedy DD...
-
If you ARE on their team it's not much fun either. Yes you'll usually win. But happened to me once, no kill, 30k meagre damage, all opponents dead. Mega-ROFLSTOMP....
-
It probably is.... but that's then for the next 3 points (which I'll have long before reaching Conqueror, no worry). Will get there, some time. For now, I am sort of stuck in that Monarch, playing more Hood - and hopefully there'll be a christmas discount on Warspite. Which means I'll play Monarch a bit less... might put the Dunkirk Bro on that one. I believe you guys, plenty good tips there. However, not all took Hood/Warspite into the mix. I'm certainly not a fan of the higher tier Brits so far... so I'll play the mids more.
-
Are you sure, because I know it and my WR isn't the best. Could be another 100 things he does wrong.
-
I'd get WV for coal, but for real money I prefer Warspite.
-
This is because most here forget the RN BBs switch at tier 6, from being solid sturdy good AP ships to unarmoured pressure cookers (or something) slinging HE (personally I like the pre-T7 best, + Hood). Note: I think some of them have sat too much spamming HE from backline in their Conqueror to forget this. Somewehere along the grind a re-spec would be good - and maybe a second re-spec if you share a captain with something.

What is the stupidest thing you did today?

Good job if it works, we tried it too in a 2x Texas division. Worked/didn't work: - we had a T6 and a T5 CV per team, we sort of shot down all planes... (works); - but they spotted us (duh) so were waiting for us... - we did manage to distract them enough for our team to win by points. -...and of course after that stunt both their CVs were castrated (free shooting for our team). But we both did not end well above middle of the team so even if we think we did help get the win, weren't rewarded. Our team first thought we were nuts, then we explained and they thought it was a good move though. -

The most amazing thing is that they made it in the allocated 20 minutes. Must have been a fast decision. -
How come it seems i always get the rubbish team?

I think you have just found the reason why backline hugging campers make great WR... Also, I think most people KNOW IT when they suck heaps. I know I'm not great. But I also know I'm not sucking as much as numbers suggest. BTW maybe they should have stats where you could use tickboxes like 'played the Monarch'. If they did not, subtract 20% from winrate & PR. Same goes for some other ships, we all know which ones. -
Steel for money, steel from campaign, steel everywhere

I'm not that fond of it TBH, like the Leander a lot more. But it's not bad. What Flint has going for it is T7. But it's steel - I'm going to have to grind like hell for it. Which is something I'm not prepared to do, I think. Good word that, 'endure'. I guess that is why I do not expect to like Flint. Though NO DOUBT if I had the steel, it would be the ONLY ONE I'd pick. -
Well it is a lot better than Monarch... but that is of course not much of a comforting thought either. The solution is to not care too much and best shoot LARGE objects or REALLY close ones. Also use the AP less (you can citadel most cruisers with the HE anyway, and angle doesn't matter). I do not have a REAL solution though.... I have f to figure out the Colorado, same stuff, but one tier up.
-
I called a divison a bunch of lucky-butt sealclubbers a week ago or so. But mainly because they were SCRUBS playing T8 and they got into a T6 match, did it to piss them off.

THIS. In fact it is worse, you can play the objectives and find yourself 'bad' and on the low side of XP, while others that just sit at the rear line spamming HE make fat high scores and consider themselves 'Great". Also - if there is ONE really good player - say 70% of his games are wins, that means (mathematically) there will be 4 guys that have 45% on the other end. So, make that TWO good players per team in a game, and the rest will be 45% more or less. Maybe there's a 60% guy in it too, so that last one then needs to be 40%. It all adds up to ~50%. Even if WOWS would 'balance' the MM that is what it would end up to be. What people want is probably have matches vs players that have the same WR. But this cannot happen. Say if we take one of those 70%WR, and put him in a match where he has to fight with/against other 70%WR, then soon his WR would be 50% again. So where would we put him then... Also, if we take 45% vs 45% some of them will win. Then their WR will rise, and again they meet the former 70%... -
Good pointers. So I'll be amazed when I play a German BB I guess.
-
That's what I do with Colorado. PLUS getting up really close works as well. Fire HE at cruisers and blap them, but needs lots of goats for RNGesus.
-
Probably, but I am quite used to it (Queen E was a LOT slower and i really loved that). I manage to find the next target before the reload finishes. TBH I find the r turret traverse speed quite fast... on Hood i find it sort of insane. JoaT was worth it if you have a Dunkirk, I have one - going to put him on in the end but for now he needs more points. Then indeed - drop BoS and take Joat. I'll try. Watch though I'll mainly use Hood and Warspite on this captain, I think you missed that. I only need to grind Monarch, Lion and Conqueror for the CW/CB. Probably won't play > T6/7much after. Not really, I have mixed/matched. Also took some of my clanmates. Some also didn't really get the idea and forgot about Hood and Warspite.. Yeh, I know it works on the 'R' button (faster cooldown), ff-ed that up in my explanation.. BFT indeed not much good for T7+, but will work on AA and secondaries - see Hood and Warspite. Vigilance I took as Hood tends to munch torps dues to playstyle (close) and length of the ship. Also someone here said Conqueror likes torps too - which my clanmates said as well. Expert marksman is no use to me, I have no problems there (I really like Queen E... enough said?) Adrenalin Rush i had on it, but it will not suit me. What usually happens is I sail along being sort of full health, and then I mess it up and the health goes down REALLY quick... once I am on 1/2 health, usually I get focused and downed fast. And I haven't had more than 2 fires in ages. Usually just 2. got 3 on Colorado last time though right before I met Davy Jones..
-
Well, went for it - and considered I'd get a few more points before 19. 1- Preventive Maintenance (becasue indeed preventing getting shot...) 2- High Alert, for faster reprinting (after all they are RN BBs) 3- Basic Firing Training, it will help on Hood (AA+20), and 10%off reload on all. 3- Superintendent, one more heal (can;t have too many reprints and yes I have plenty premium heals) 3- Vigilance, I like hunting DDs... and I'm always in the front. So yes, the sooner I see them torps coming the better 4- concealment expert, to get out when it's a bit too hot and print myself a new one. Thanks all for the tips. This one will go on Hood and (now) Monarch up to Conqueror. And will probably also go on Warspite. Meanwhile I'll grind a Dunkirk Brother... Jack Of All trades? Now what do you think I should do with the last 3 points. Priority Target is not my favourite. Usually when I'm in the sh.... I know it.... we'll see how that goes (I have almost one point grinded so can put it on pretty quick). I'm thinking Incoming Fire Alert + Last Stand... What do you think?
-
I know the grandeur of the Tier X feeling. Playing Monarch at the moment. Bone-Argh. But I need to grind through it to get CB with my clanmaties. After that... nicely back to T5/6/7. I have Texas and Arizona... And I sort of like the Colorado, but not that it gets T9 constantly. Too much HE spam there. Indeed this T6 West Virginia may be a good deal. 6x350 = 2100HP so that is also 'fixable' by captain. Hmmm... hope it comes for coal, sooner or later. What would that say about me... then I'd have 3 premium US BBs... First getting Warspite though if it is on X-mas sale (and I have Hood, too...).

Steel for money, steel from campaign, steel everywhere
BLUB__BLUB replied to FeelTheseTorps's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, that indeed: "something that meshes a bit better with the main line's captain skill needs". Hood (or Warspite) seemed to be a perfect mesh for RN BBs... well... then came KGV, LOL. -

Try motoring backwards in the RN DD, the advantage being you can quickly brake/ speed forward if needed. Actually the only branch of DDs I'm not totally worthless in. -

Considering it... might do it if I get a Russian 10p captain from somewhere. Still rather have Warspite, I think. Well we'll see what christmas brings. -

Sort of like RN DDs, I like that smoke. But I already have the very powerful Campbelltown to train the DD captain.... Yes, and if you EVER can get Belfast again... too bad they ff-ed that one up... or maybe not Man that is a lot of salt there, but I AM seriously learning some stuff here. Mainly that some stuff is just stuffed up, like we do not have a premium RN cruiser and I want one. Now THAT would be worth the grind. -

I did, but double sized citadel, so no thanks... Besides it would not be of any use re-training captains, unless they go RN = Commonwealth. If it was, I'd have to think about the effectiveness of that HE, if it needed IFHE would also be less useful (needing 4 points that are useless on the other cruisers). -

Ah good. I was already worried you might have some kind of nerve disease or something. Now feeling kinda stupid because I didn't remember the Mighty Mo. The last thing would be true if WG had something like a 'realism' mode (like in War Thunder where you get no lead indicator etc, and you have to go near to find out what it is - surprise!). But they stick a large sign on it saying exactly what ship it is, and any potato can look up what are the exact (in)abilities. So I doubt if they fall for it. Doesn't really matter if I find them usable either. Apparently a lot of people want them. I actually feel a bit sorry for the unicums though. I'd like a Leander with HE instead of AP, too. Or a Fiji, and then just call it Ajax. But THESE steelies do not cut the cake, for me.\ Maybe it is because I find Dallas rather unimpressive (due to the almost constant uptiering) and Atlanta sort of same. On the other hand I could regard it as a Fiji that has HE. Hmmm. Ah well, maybe in 3 years. Yes I can see that one too. I always groan when I see 3 of them Italian Spaghetti BBs and such. Or (oh the horror) 4 Bismarcks. Variety is always good.
