I agree with that, sort of. Salem and JB aren't high on my list either. But, a lot of the lower ships are fun. Depends what you do with them. A Yubari with IFHE and "the works" is really troll to use in a division with a mate that grinds the Cvs. And then some complain WG doesn't have a sense of humor... Part of it is also stimulating people to play, eh. T10 costs money, or you grind the credits in lower tiers. Some of these ships are perfect for that. And you can teach a starting div-mate how to play. Someday they might pop out a ship that I like, and then I'll have plenty coal to get it. Howevr I will not get anything > T7-8, it's just no fun. -
Which Legendary upgrades would be good to have?

Based on that I'll stock up on the one for the Minotaur (and Worcester?? weird one). They seem useful... Moskva is must-have, probably. The one for the Conqueror doesn't seem such a good trade-off for the concealment in slot 5. +13% to main turrets traverse speed. –80% to steering gears repair time. –40% to rudder shift time. VS -10% to detectability radius. +5% to the maximum dispersion of enemy shells fired at your ship. However... what's the catch with slot 1, I run Main Armamanets Modification 1 usually on BBs. But I could get Damage Control Party Modification 1 there, +40% duration - would that be useful? -
Very likely scenario. Plus in the rest of the war, Nonkel Dolf would have let her rot in some fjord or something. Instead of becoming the legend, it would have become the reef.

Most likely due to the German ships almost all being in game, and the IJN too. Bismarck/Gneisenau/Graf Spee/Tirpitz... you name it. Kongo/ Yamato/Musashi... even Mikasa. The British legends are missing. They had far more ships in real life too, so it makes sense.

Yes that would make more sense. I'll check if they cost anything at all. If they do cost credits, I think they'd be quite more expensive than a shell. -

I don't think losing planes cost credit (shells, however, do cost...). But he honestly might not know. As he didn't know about the damage reduction when on the actual attack run. Can't blame him, I'm around here a lot and I can't even keep up with the cr... that gets nerfed and buffed all the time. Like, I'm not sure what the % damage reduction is, and if it goes for all kinds of attack planes. -

I'm quite sure he IS onto something, I have noticed myself 'mad tactics work'. It is simple: when you meet more experienced players, adapt your playstyle. So, when you meet more nutcases, adapt too. Like no sane player going through the middle channel on that map with two islands. Nobody smart would lie there, torps ready, waiting for it to happen. Guess what... (I killed two DDs and a cruiser...) To be fair I think El2azer hasn;t played a T6 CV for a while, so experience with current T6 playerbase may be a bit lacking. I think he's rather honest though. -

With his sample of games, those stats ARE luck-based (mainly MM). It needs many more games before you can say. Now, with the number El2azer has played, it shows. ...ehhh.... and the whole forum complaining we get more and more of those...maybe he uis on to something? Exactly. I think he has a point. Maybe a (much) smaller point than El2azer, but nevertheless. I play the CV a lot more 'up front' though, Good thinking. If you have enough captains and points, maybe breed a PvP captain and a PvE captain? I'm trying the faster closing reticules... Duno yet what us they are. I might be able to pull more stunts, or save more planes. But you are WRONG about the longer run - in torpedo planes, you get 'health boost' when on the actual run (300% I think, or so). Instead of diving in late, it pays off to dive in early - and this may be where the reticule thing comes in handy. -
Yeah, Swordfishes are on the T4 hermes as bombers (sigh... WG....). They drop 1 set of spread-bombs-HE-things. At T6 you get 3 "two plane drop" of torpedoes (3x2). So instead, give Swordfishes torps and make that 3 "3 or 4 plane drops" (3x3 or 3x4). They can buff them however they want... as in: add dispersion on Swordfish, or make them super-resistant, or everything overpen.... Yeah it was a show of bravery and coincidence coming together. I demand SWORDFISH torpedo planes... else it's kinda MEH... I'm sure they CAN fix it up if they want it.

Errr, with a dumbo player in a DD you are probably right, but most of those do not live that long. Unless they are lucky.... beware of the lucky ones. They might get lucky again. I'll usually not sail a DD though, but a cruiser or a BB, and will be coming to you from the side. In case of the cruiser you might know what hit you. In case of the BB you never will. Usually when I kill a CV it is by accident. Somebody else spots him and I am in position to take the shot. Or we end up sort of last ones and then I go hunt the CV, mostly fails though. They are quick... When I am actually in a DD you will not escape unless your planes get me, no need for me to come that close. When I am in a CV I get upto 2-3 DDs that are coming for me with torps, no problem (forget the rockets... at least in T4-T6). BTW that fanatic guy has 70% and more win rate on most ships and insane damage. He must be doing something (very) right, I'd take his tips, they lead me to insane damage in a T6 CV even in T8 game. I'm quite sure I'll break 100k barrier some time in T4, and 150K in T6... because of what he shows. Anyhow you're not a bad player as far as I can see - but those 4 points better go towards the aiming. That will help you ALL GAME instead of the one occasion when a DD rushes you. -

Well maybe you'd call them 'lucky SOBs'? Because coming THAT Close to a CV is stupid AF. I think they'll not notice, neither will I. True, not many CVs are configured that way. Nevertheless, here's why I will not notice: I will stay out of your detection range. Because if the CV spots you, no matter what build the CV has, the most dangerous then are his teammates. Well OK, they could be stupid AF as well, of course. -

Well, some are more lucky than good, and I've had a fair bit of CV games where there was nothing between my CV and the cap. Also, never underestimate the stupidity of teammates... I'm not quite sure you are such a potato as you say to be. You surprised me AND my teammate that time, remember? But... I'll not make such a build myself. I can use the 4 points better I think. Looking at that score he's not really a liability though. -

I agree on this one - except that you do not realise how right you are. I get DD kills in my BBs. You'd be amazed at how many DD [edited] are floating around. Now think about that, and then rethink. How many dumb DDs? Even if I agree it's not a strategy to rely on, it might be more viable than you think. -
Ah well, it is an ARCADE game so some stuff might be 'tricked' to make them perform as needed. How about 70% dispersion from AA guns on Swordfish torpedo bombers... ...after all Bismarcks guns were missing them because they were so bloody slow. As it is now, no planes will survive fighters anyway. Run into them, and you are toast. Swordfishes are as bad at avoiding them as their captain is, it's not like the planted fighter patrol follows you. Instead of death in 5 secs might be death in 1 sec. And Ark Royal could have other type bombers/rocket planes. But.... SWORDFISH torpedo bombers need to be. LOTS of them, too. Maybe at T6 3-3-3, or even more. Keep the T4 torpedoes, maybe with a little more speed, but instead of giving more damage just give more torps. Could even make 4-4-4, and make 25% of torps being duds.

I'd like to sponsor WG a bit more (@MrConway) but currently there's none I'd like... Except for Warspite but I'll get that when it's on sale - and I already have Hood (yes you did a good one there). I'd certainly like something at T6/7 whcih is my most played tier (and affordable) that is not RN though. Even so, I'll probably get Ark Royal if it has Swordfishes.... CV rework is pleasing me (though some hate it). Admiral Scheer... yes please, at T6, with single slow reloading torps...

Well I'm not @MrConway but for me 0.8.2 made it a bit worse, I now had stutters sometimes. So... I applied the FIX ANYWAY and that fixed it indeed, good job @iEarlGrey

I'm not sure you re a nub mate, and I wasn't assuming you were criticizing. Compared to @El2aZeR we are all N00bS I guess... But we can learn, today I got a semi-T8 game in my T6 CV. Practised the AA-avoidance s he said, and the short-squad. This is what I got. I think not bad, almost 50k in that sort of game. But the game before I got T6 with a few T5, and I got deleted after 5 minutes because my team let two DDs and a cruiser through, got 15k... -

Yeah they fire automatically so... under fire. But iof they;re hit they lose AA usually. I can kill 3 ships, just can;t do it anytime I like. Usually I do not manage much (also due to ROFLSTOMPs). However I am quite sure he can do it anytime he likes, that's the difference between potato and unicum. Not like I'll do nothing, at least I'll kill one or two or something. -

How do you use a 4 km torpedo range DD ?

I quite like them.... sometimes I am very good with them, usually not though. You should NOT fire at BBS (or cruisers) where they can see you. Ideally, you sit 'in hiding' and rain fire on the BB, and they never see you. Then when you have him down < 50% health you YOLO RUSH HIM and finish him off. Yeah they do. Treat thim similar to BBs, but they are MORE dangerous than BBs, and they do not deliver the same points, and they burn less, so I tend to avoid them like the plague. HIGHER TIER USSR DDs though, cn hit cruisers HARD. Even at T6... remember Leander, Fiji... hit the citadel with AP. Oh and the lower tier 'spongeboats' are of course fair game too. Stay away though from Furutaka and such. That's the risk, but THAT is where they shine. They are really good DD killers. Don't play them though if you're not fast-thinking (no-thinking is better than thinking too long though).... In Operations they can be VERY good, because some of them send out SH..LOADS of torpedoes. And the bots are stupid enough to allow you to get near... -
I took my replay from Hood, just showed I shot wide. All shots missed. But i would not shoot wide 3x in a row on a 12km distance broadside cruiser...

My guess is lately the server is having some lag spikes, which is what causes it. It's not just Hood though, but BBs seems to suffer the most as the reload is longer. I've had it happen 3x in a row, made me go !!! Not sure if it's WG server causing it, we seem to have a bad spell all over where I live here.
