The first one is correct, the second one... dream on...
-
Ah well, that is true. Furthermore, if a DD goes cap then he needs support as well. Else DD dies fast. If that is not given the team doesn't deserve to win. Seems likely this is what happened. But that still is not the fault of the CV, it's just teams of camper numbskulls. In that way, CVs work as intended. Camper teams will lose.
-
This, 100%. If I am in a CV and there is a 'wild'DD out there, I make sure I find and kill him before he kills me. If his team folds, even more urgency to kill him, as he can cap and turn the page. He should have gone support the team at the start, IMO. The kind of play he does is sort of 'selfish' - yes might score big, but also high risk you get deleted.

I got a few times where I could not hit a broadside cruiser with Hood, at < 10km distance. Aside from that, have been getting "hiccups" that weren't there before. Also the FPS got worse. Plus the thing some people complain about (slow UI) hads now reared its ugly head here, too.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
BLUB__BLUB replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
No greatest achievements today. Played the Conqkek... and every game ended in a ROFLSTOMP. After about 10 of those I had enough. Hope better tomorrow. Grats to you guys though (you must have been on the red team). -
Easy. Me and my teammate enjoy the game a lot more. We still are not able to prevent ROFLSTOMPS, but hey. At least we are having fun.

OR you can just go play Tier II

@MrConway how is that SEALCLUBBER FLAG coming? -
☆ Is it that different? Problem with Gunboat DDs! ♡

Your clan should do some training rooms... then you can prove what your favourite ship is worth. Or make two divisions, DD/DD/CL and click in on countdown. You'll face eachother 99% chance. On the other hand, your ship may turn out to be worthless... but I do not think so. -
Queen Elizabeth - any point having as well as Warspite?
BLUB__BLUB replied to gustywinds's topic in General Discussion
It's not just armour, or whatever. I have done the math, it should not matter much (if any). However - it did. I got next to NO shatters, and even MORE fire. I don't know why. I put IFHE there as sort of an experiment, because I really hated the pen on the ship. I mean, any BB ca pen you, but you cannot pen e any of them. They just bowtank you. The result was - before IFHE, I got one fire every two salvoes, after IFHE I got 1 or 2 every salvo. Plus almost EVERY IFHE-shell was a pen. I can only think, maybe the fire chance on pens is better than on shatters. WG is saying fire chance is the same, but well... glad I am rid of King Grog the Filth though. -
I think the same, but mostly because players are grinding new lines, which influences their WR. Once T10 is reached (or whatever other 'steady level) and hundreds of games are played, the WR starts to relate to the player. Before that, not so much. They are still grinding and may care more about next ship than good WR, indeed. Also, their whole team may still be grinding... No we do not, unfortunately.

Queen Elizabeth - any point having as well as Warspite?

Yeah IFHE does help, IMO. Even then it made the POS no champion. But I have sold that POS called KGV a long time ago and since respecced the captain. Yes me too, I wonder if I'll keep her after getting Warspite though. -
If the Currywursts get spotted at distance, they die. If they manage to close in, the Yammies are toast. We tried Conqkek vs Currywurst and the outcome was just as predictable.

Right, wrong..or ?? question to experienced players
BLUB__BLUB replied to Joergensen's topic in General Discussion
CVs will always camp. It is what they are meant to do. Make a ship as 'soft' as possible, basically a big XP pinata, it will hide behind a mountain and at distance. You mean you never did that? It's hilarious. I did it a few times. I regularly do it in BBs as well. Must look out WHEN to do it but you certainly can. If it movs, it can cap. Even if it barely moves. I have capped in T5/6 US BBs, too. -
Actually it is like this: you take the average, then divide it by the mean 'aversion'from the average which gives you the 'sigma' and 'standard deviation' ... ehh... Never mind... again: The "average"is not exactly the 50% - the average is a RANGE around that 50%. What the 'normal' range is, depends on how many score the average and how many score around that average. Something like this - although the 'normal' probably is not 34% and the average is probably not 50%. The +/- 1 SD is the factor we are after. If this is 5%, and assuming the average is 50% WR, a 55%WR player is not SIGNIFICANTLY better than a 45%WR player. And if that SD 5% is taken, then a 55-60% player would be "probably better than others". A >60% player would be "Definately better". However, this may differ per ship - so for a BAD ship the curve may look like this, shifting the highest number of players to the lower percentage WR. But, since we do not have exact numbers... the whole graph might look like the second one. What BALANCE would look like is every ship having the first graph - more or less. Now one thing we can be sure of: WG WoWS graph will look NOTHING LIKE THIS...

2 CV focussing on a single CV works...
BLUB__BLUB replied to Beastofwar's topic in General Discussion
Not that long... usually after cap then we'll see where we go, and sometimes we meet the CV. I wouldn't know how long it would take to get to 'shooting distance'. Depends on the CV as well. Hood has ~18km range and no spotter plane. Probably can be done with other ships a bit better. I imagine Lyon or something like that. We've done it in Texas, which has a spotter plane, then you can shoot ~ 22km. I've shot a CV at that distance, killed him too (with Arizona) but usually it takes more than 3 salvoes and you'll be lucky to kill him due to dispersion. 3 shots is all the spotter gives, and you sure cannot catch him. In Hood, you sure WILL kill him. And he cannot run... at least not faster than Hood. So far only ONE T10 CV bit the dust (Conqueror...) but I do not especially go looking for them, usually. However if I find one in range... it's another red ship that needs to be killed. I do not understand the whine about CVs being OP, they are much easier to kill than any damn cruiser or BB. First of all there's only so many spots they will hide, and then they are about the largest target you can get and usually suffer from tunnelvision. Then, yes they have fast top speed but the acceleration and steering sucks heaps. And they will not shoot back much, either. I'd rather chase a CV than a Mino or a Moskva or even a Shima. They usually will. Flying over half the map take time, plus they might accidentally meet some good AA ship, so they either arrive at the target half-squadded or sometimes not at all. The only thing I'll fly over half the map for is a nice, fat T6 premium West-Virginia... -

Took me 5 seconds to shoot a broadside CV to death... in Hood. And even less in a Gnevny.... (it takes quite an a effort to kill a good Gnevny though, no matter im Hood or in CV). -
2 CV focussing on a single CV works...
BLUB__BLUB replied to Beastofwar's topic in General Discussion
Yes can. If one of my div-mates plays CV and I am in a BB we can sink it within minutes. No AA or secondaries gonna save you mate, if we really want to. He spots it, and I bury it. -
That is probably it...
-
Hahaha I'd rather gift them the Smith so they can drive their Ferrari on sidewalks. Seriously the amount of 'unicums' I see people telling what to do (usually only to their OWN advantage) is staggering. They tell a player in a Khabarovsk to go spot and curse at them because the player doesn't obey. No matter of the map already shows that there's a DM somewhere there and such. Basically they want the other players to suicide for their unicum glory. I'd be happy to get rid of such unicum elitist whiners, would make the game more enjoyable.
-
Yeah that's the whole point... I see a bright future: suppose one of those 'unicums' starts pestering my e in game, I'll just GIFT HIM one of those months...
-
I know the feeling...
-
I'd say give the 'unicum' players a separate league, where they can 'toggle' if they want to use it or not. But make this 'toggle' two-sided: if you put it ON, it will last for a whole month. Maybe WG can even SELL IT as 'special premium'. BUT: That month, you will NOT be able to enter 'normal potato' randoms. Here's the catch: in those 'special randoms' there is a REAL blacklist, so teammates can vote never to play with you again. That will sort out the poisonous ones and also guarantee us 'normal potatoes' will be relieved of them for at least a month.

QE works pretty good with the same captain as Hood. Not so well with same captain as KGV or Monarch or up. That's another reason for me to keep QE... I guess I like the same things in QE as I like in Hood. -

So, you are telling me you are amazed after near 15000 games there are still people that... well... after so many games you must have had that same experience lots of times...
