Jolly Roger Flag...why you do dis WeeGee???

Well, was gonna comment on the flags but everybody else did, so... I wonder if you make any money off those pills, me thinks you must be a millionaire by now. Because they sure are working as I see lots of players either falling asleep or trying to shove their e-peen down any hole they can find. And yes it is probably improving the playerbase, must be as it can't get much worse. Now wait until they find out you switched the labels... Oh that's right, won't matter for most anyway. -
Probably is. Even I can do OK in that little monster. Oh wait...
-
Ah good. You'll see me bobbing around there too. Finally a chance of getting a decent DD player. Oh jolly, swell!

Man that is a bit meagre... more like this:

Yeah I can name a few other ones, too. In fact that is why I tried it on the test server. Not that there was much to test... if you entered with a CV, all you got was a B0T-team and B0T-reds. If you entered with a "normal" ship (to see how it was on the other side) then you got no CV at all. However playing the CV looks much better and also less buggy/laggy/whatevery (for me).

I do, because I have to or else become useless. But I'd like it to be eliminated, too. It is crap having to resort to tricks and exploits to get worthwhile results. Yes was. Because indeed they used planes as a damage sponge, sent in full squads, and pressed F ASAP. Instead of fixing the cause (sponge) WG fixed the effect... In fact it IS different. It is not a MISSED dive. It can be done with HIT as well... It is the immunity AFTER a dump that is weird, not the dive itself. Wanna know something really weird? If you abort the attack (press F) after that dive, your planes die... if you continue the attack (slingshot or not), they become immune... The slingshot doesnýt work if you do not drop bombs. You get the furthest slingshot if you drop bombs ASAP, and then press W.
-
Agreed. Should just be a button to send part of the squad home instead of having to demolish islands (harhar). On the other hand, I do not understand why it is there anyway. It is absolutely useless. And the fact that, when you lose a plane from the strike, another swoops down and takes its place is CRUD. If you are a ship and you manage to shoot down a plane, well no effect, you'll still get the same amount of bombs/torps/rockets. There SHOULD BE a HOLE/GAP where that plane was shot down. IMO they should ditch this whole "so many attacks in a squad" thing. Just make ONE attack squad like the old days, if one gets shot down, a gap should be there. Giving the ship the chance to escape through that gap. And instead of setting "sectors" the ships should be able to MANUALLY CONCENTRATE on a specific plane, or leave it running as they like / random. As such they could create a GAP if they like, or not. Or some thingy like "start in middle then shoot to left" or whatever. If you'd THEN ALSO make difference between attack/spot mode (low/slow flying) and cruise/travel mode (no spotting but faster), then we'd have something workable and it would also be easier to balance. But alas.

It's still not patched, but he doesn't mean the slingshot-trick I presume. BTW and yes you are correct this trick is broken AF.

I didn't play them because it was laggy/buggy as what. You klicked a squadron, often iot would select the other one, not select... ...aaaaand then the chance was gone. Didn't like the way it looked much either. More like playing animated chess.
-
...which also explains why nobody was playing them. I never knew that!

It might be a conspiricy theory, ...but

LOL! I don't even make > 50% so I must be a MEGA potato. Note to self: must stop playing anything other than HOOD... -
Yeah does, even in lower tiers. But THEN at least I manage to earn the service cost. WG has nerfed the CVs, and (maybe a bit too much) rightly so as they were too OP. But they seem to have forgotten about their damn uptiering. T8 gets 75% uptiered.
-
Yeah I was dreaming of those torps too. Unfortunately Lexi doesn;t have them, so it is a matter of diving in, watching carefully and gambling they'll get there.
-
Glad you agree, I hope WG fix some of the powercreep indeed. It's bad for the game too, too much damage dealing promotes camping. More damage sponges promote using the dakka as you can take more risk.

I know... Didn't waste time... I used the torpedo planes for spotting (after predropping one squad). But, when spotting you also lose some so by the time they were down from 6 to 3 planes I dumped torpedoes on the blob and got a new sixpack. IMO that is the best thing to do in such cases now. But... very very meagre results. Of course I could have gotten luckier (a fire roasting on a BB gives 10k at least). But while before, they'd not put out one fire because then they knew I'd send in another attack... now I can't. Because the rest of the squad is shot down. I did go get new ones, by the time I'm back he has permafires from my teammates though so no more cookies for me. SO yes he burns and my team celebrates but leaves me with a credit deficit.
-
I think the accuracy is not what you'd want, it would start to feel more like other BBs. I'm thinking more in the line of HP boost, and better secondaries. This thing is supposed to be tough as nails (hard to kill) and deadly up close. So, those are the things that should be buffed, not accuracy.
-
OK, say you HAVE that semi-competent team, and the battle lasts the full 20 minutes. I had such a team and we won, eventually. It was a t10 game - the only T8 was me in Lexington and the red CV. Enemy blobbed up (so did my team...) and half the game I spent spotting only, on the lookout for a BB that had enough and left the blob. Meanwhile I tried a few torp attacks against the outer region of the blob... ONE hit. Pre-dropped, so it cost me 3 planes. Did that a few times more... NO hits, either they avoided the torps or I got shot down anyway or torps didn't reach. After the blob dispersed I finally got some damage in. But a Grozovoi deleted 6 planes for one bomb drop, yes he was at 1/4 HP but still needed to send in planes 3x before I had him killed. Managed to drop a bomb on another DD, and rocketed a few BBs for little. Rocketed a Montana that was at 100HP... that's about it. 20K damage. Meh.

Yes, looking at that list Bismarck suffers the same thing as all other ships: POWERCREEP. Almost all (if not just ALL) later ships are doing better than Bismarck.
-
Did 12k yesterday in a T10 game where me and the red CV were the only T8. Enemy ships were not helping ether... lots of AA-heavies. Survived though, and we won. And finished off a DD and a BB. But man this is totally no fun gameplay getting uptiered. Where I can at least score good in T8 cruiser, no chance here.
-
It would make them better, but it is somewhere in the middle mostly. The main problem with it is finishing off targets (K/D ratio), no wonder with that dispersion. https://wows-numbers.com/ship/4181669680,Bismarck/
-
This is mostly because in higher tiers they "bowcamp". No use shooting AP at another bowcamping BB, hence they shoot HE. And once they loaded the HE it takes lots of time to reload the AP, so...
-
Similar to Bismarck (I know the effect from both sides...), but OP specifically stated he got hits. Problem was not the hitting, but the "dadada no score". After thinking about what @lup3s said, I think he may have gotten mostly "INCAPACITATIONS" to get such a low score.
-
Did play it (a friend has it, played on his PC). I know how to hit the citadel, but in Bismarck can't seem to do it. SO... I can relate to the problem OP describes. Meanwhile... the thing I wonder about is how OP got such low scores. Because THIS is correct: Thanks, you are correct. Makes me wonder how OP got those low scores. Could be "disabling stuff"? Like AA guns? You disable them, but no score. I find HE gets a better result against cruisers if you do not get pens or citadel. AND I can imagine on a 'spray paint' ship like Bismarck you'd want to use it. Especially on That said... I use mostly AP on Conqkek... citadels on cruisers galore (on BBs too).

FWIW your thinking about it makes 100% sense to me. Cutting off at 10% top-rated means with some ships (that just about everybody owns) you also include a large number of 'potatoes'. While in other ships, for example "Flint" you have at least people that managed to grind it by gathering enough steel. Statistics are statistics, but you need to keep in mind WHAT it is that you are actually taking as "the sample". As statistics go: Rubbish in = rubbish out. ... and as a note, I taught mathematics and am a professional in soil-rerearsch/sanitation, specialised in asbestos. This means I have A LOT of things with statistics... binomial frequencies... and the Bell-curve. Should be worth something, even though I'm quite a potato at playing the game.
