Sailing straight into cap in the first minute...
BLUB__BLUB replied to RamboCras's topic in General Discussion
Indeed. Maybe not enough cynism there... I had one DD torp my CV... except this one was on my own team. He sailed to the rear and deliberately torped me. Twice. What a moron. Well he got pink, and died (reversed damage) and my CV survived. But still. -

That is why you must file a ticket with player support. Send them the replay. If they do it once, they get a week, twice - a month. Third time: whack! WG don't care about teamkillers but this one they'll pick up. -
What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
BLUB__BLUB replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Feeling like a filthy scrublord today taking Conqkek and scoring cits on non-suspecting broadsiders with AP.... Didn't take any screenies but would be afraid to show them anyway... Conqkek + AP = troll boat... They're lucky I'm not very good, only ~100k per game today. But funny. -

THAT kind of persons you can report, and they'll be kicked out of the game for a while. -
Sailing straight into cap in the first minute...
BLUB__BLUB replied to RamboCras's topic in General Discussion
The thing is, they don't. The 'pink system'is deemed good enough by WG. I even had a fool in a DD torp my CV once. He even let loose a second salvo. Of course he croaked it from the 'return damage' and my CV repaired itself.. but no use reporting that because they do exactly NOTHING about it. I do it lots of times in Conqkek and also in Hood. After all they are battlecruisers - works great when there are only 1 or 2 DDs. Usually I live, too. In Conqkeke you can do it if you are undetected. Sometimes I even have a nice cruiser meal (shoot AP). In Hood you get away with it because of 'lemmingtrain'. Often I steal caps that way and I see no red ships around. Sailing into a cap that has 2 DDs in it with a Yamato, knowing it... well... no. I do barge in though when I see it is our DD having a scrap with a red one and nobody else is helping. Load the HE, BOOM. Well yeah. That has been happening ever since I play the game. I guess if you have many/plenty DDs it is a way to grind. Start game, suicide-run, make enough credits, have some gains, start next game with other DD... repeat.... repeat... -
Of course not. AA didn't work, because the carrier has 'fillers' flying above. So the first strike always gets in, full on. this leaves no gap at all for escape. In the old days, you shot one down, you had a gap - and then you steered for that gap. Also, after that attack you could try to escape or seek cover. That was counterplay - NOW all you get is RNG, deciding if you'll live or not. It is just WG making the dice more or less ball or cubic shaped. They should give CVs ONE attack, and then balance it. This thing with 'fillers' that act as damage sponges is useless.

I already do the pre-drop. I also do the 'kangaroo jump' ....and make sure I 'time-route' torpedo drops. Never seen anybody else do the last trick... Another one I use is boost/brake/steer. I can get a rocketload into a DM... Learned from the best (yes @El2aZeR that's you) and using all the tricks. Could do 100k+ with a T6... Still it's no fun in uptiers anymore, meagre damage - doesn't even cover the service cost. Screw it. I'll get even better at it and bomb them anyway. For revenge I then take out Conqkek to punish some broadside nutters that think Conqkek can't shoot AP... Next up getting myself a Salem to go DD hunting.
-
Yeah man. I said lucky, eh.... I have those games too. No fun! Yup. You must have met the same guy. Before the 8.5 nerf (AA insanity) i got 100K on a good game and much more possible if you went for the score instead of the team. Depends on MM indeed. I'm taking about pure TX, and me the only T8. No Musashi, no Bismarck, no Tirpitz... In T7/T8/T9 mix/match it is doable. In a pure T8 it is quite OK. Same goes with T6 CV. But T8MM is way worse. But either they fix the MM or they get back T9 CVs, this is no fun at all. I think I'll have to get a TX CV then.

Who should get top spot - Kraken or Survival?
BLUB__BLUB replied to I_come_bearing_gifts's topic in General Discussion
Depending if it's a good trade, yes. If I can do more damage later, nope. You killed them all though so if you can RAM the last one to seci ure victory, hell yeah do it. I did that once, we were ~25 points ahead and we both were last on team. He had 10% health and I had 80%, but he had torps. SO RAM. We won. Worth it. -
Just saw Siegfried (T9 German Supercruiser) on Live Server?
BLUB__BLUB replied to Sunleader's topic in General Discussion
Almost did. He was hiding behind his island though and my Conqkek croaked it defending cap. His bow ate my AP very well, but not well enough. https://forum.worldofwarships.eu/topic/10242-which-forum-members-have-you-seen-in-random-battles/?do=findComment&comment=3081560 https://forum.worldofwarships.eu/topic/10242-which-forum-members-have-you-seen-in-random-battles/?do=findComment&comment=3081560 EDIT: doesn't seem to work, just click it. -
Yes can. But I'll be lucky to get 40k in a TX game, with the Lexington. And I can't help anyone really, where it used to be I could at least chase some cruisers out of hiding. Or defend a cap when a DD got in it. Try that now with T8CV vs a TX DD. Nope!
-
The problem is more like, they balance everything on TX. Which means when you get uptiered in the T6 or T8 CV you're useless. Yesterday I had a teammate say "CV can you please do..."and I told him what. It was a T8 game, some T7 and me in the Furious. SO I told him he'd better save his own butt, as the whiners got what they wanted and there was NO WAY ever I could help against a T8 DD. Good luck with those whiners, they can go take care of themselves.
-
AH, thanks for clearing that up. Will try that. Will at least give me an excuse to fark half the game, when I get uptiered again to all-TX in my T8 CV. That is so worthless now, can't be bothered really.

Might be it then, I never did many games with RTS CVs. Mostly because I could never 'catch' the planes using the mouse. If I 'look up'then I see the ceiling? I do not understand what you mean. It's not possible to crash planes, I think. But crash the carrier in to an island, yes. The main problem is that , when you have manual control you slow down to steer, or park behind an island, the auto-pilot just goes full throttle and then misses the bend or overshoots. AND somehow there is a disparity between map/game. When I send my CV past an island, it might pass it MUCH wider than I intended OR run aground.

There are, but I think I might be wrong when it comes to "user interface". I consider "user interface" that you see something on screen, you have to click it but it doesn't work. As in, trying to select some ship for secondaries to go to work, and then it takes 5 tries. Other crap happens indeed, but to me, that is not "user interface", it's just stupid. Just unfortunate for me then that I'd like to use the mouse. With my size hands you do not want to have to press too many keys... Even now, when I change the speed (S/W) have to be careful not to press A/D or Q/E at the same time. I can understand that you like the RTS more, but to me it was not that good really. Yes, but I do not consider that "interface" problems. Maybe I'm wrong there. To me that is the same as the jibberish you get in some other games if the thing "hangs". I realise that, the problem however was I'd get stuck on islands anyway. Well maybe that was lag or something - anyway going too near to an island I'd usually ram it. I'd thing I pass it but nope. In the end I just thought it was probably why CVs had no brakes, or something. Didn't play much RTS anyway, I had enough of it plenty quick.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
BLUB__BLUB replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Today I met @Muppeteer while doing some "I am a Conqkek and I am an AP shooting cruiser" trollgames. His unsuspecting team suffered some nice citadels and wasn't able to recover. Who needs HE anyway? Fun lasted until I screwed up and got focused by his teammates. Too bad, would have liked some more citadels... Good game mate and hope to see you next time on the green side. -
Must be. Some ships are really derp though. Conqkek can be. I have seen shells fly from the front turret: on left, one right, one wayyyy high...
-
Sacrifice more goats and sheep to RNGesus. Or camels, if needed. I managed to blow a Minotaur clean out of the water, just rushed him in Conqkek. He was spamming me from behind islan, and then... he missed his torps. Yeah this time I had the higher sheepcount. One salvo... BOOM.
-
Never happens to me... maybe I have gotten used to ruling the world with one finger. Also: yes it is. In that case you tried to do ONE thing. And no worky. That is true, about the keyboard. But PING spikes are not the fault of the UI. And... if you press the number and manage to press more than two keys... same problem. Yes, jump out and you had it all the time. We have it now too, but only when there aren't any planes up (sucks though). It does remind me though in how stuff never worked out 'just the way you planned'. Usually the laggy and stupid UI made me fark up. Ehhh... not that I'm not able to fark myself, of course. I only played a few games ever, never liked RTS much. I understand you miss it if you did like it though.

Let's say there are two ships you can shoot, one about 20 meters behind the other. If you do not 'snap' the lock on one, then how can you (for instance) shoot the front one in the superstructure, or shoot the rear one on the hull? This is a 2D-3D effect game... the snap must happen because of that.
-
Ah well, agreed on that. But that is no different than any other ship. I mean the one where you wanted to select a squadron, and you just couldn't do it... I still get reminded by 'plotting course' on the map. You seem to pass and islan. But you ram it. Or, you want to make a left turn, and the CV ends up going in circles. Or, you want to park behind an island and end up 500m from it... or ramming it. Not from where I see it. It was MEGA-crud, well it's maybe now just CRUD (like in all other ships, sort of).
-
I will too, and then I'll just "git gud" dammit.
-
Ah well, at least when you push a button, it does.... ehhh... what is required by WG. Was tempted to say 'what you expect' but well, it would be a blatant lie, eh. I do not mean the 'port screen' anyway, that is sort of how my in-game worked with RTS. Push a button, nothing happens, start hammering it... Basically, the way you "control CV steering" reminds me of RTS days...
-
I didn't say it was bad. Didn't look attractive to ME. Someone else might find it just the way they like it. I can imagine though that to the ones liking the rest of the game, the 'animated chess' part didn;t look like they wanted. My guess is that was one of the reasons they changed it. Another reason (the main one) I didn't like it was: the interface was screwed and buggy as hell. The 'strategic map view' was bearable, sort of. The interface wasn't.

Unique Commanders / Captains - on what ship to use them?
BLUB__BLUB replied to StaK_1980's topic in General Discussion
I have him there, since I suck at DDs. Currently that extends the plane life by about 1 second...
